The Riverhouse is Bali life re-imagined. Bold and confident. Private and cool. This is your oasis of luxury and cool in the rice fields of Pererenan. ABOUT THE ARCHITECT
Alexis Dornier is a multi-award winning architect in Bali, Indonesia. Born in Germany, he has studied and worked in many cities around the world, including Berlin, Stockholm and New York. Alexis Dornier is well known for many popular designs throughout Bali, including Roam, which is a modern co-living space, which brings together numerous elements including large windows and vegetation to create an idyllic place to live, work and relax. When it comes to architecture in Bali, Alexis Dornier has stamped his unique style on a growing number of projects throughout the island.

We often have to shoot villas between holidaymakers checking in and out, so often don't have access to them in the evenings, but we will try and shoot up more evening shoots to capture some of Bali's amazing sunsets.

One of the great things about Bali's architecture is that there is a lot of choice and styles to suit everyone's tastes and preferences.
The outdoor is stunning. They need to change the color of the wall and sink to make it look lighter.

The river house is perfect with its natural light that streams in. If you live in the tropics you appreciate the depth of colour as it gets extremely hot and this cools you down and is easier on your eyes. I live in the tropics.

If they were so wealthy, they wouldn’t rent out for six months, this is how to keep wealth, once you’ve created it. They may have just planned, right time right place, this is how you start out. Australian homes are beyond reach for many kids today, prices are so outrageous. Socialists/ communists have taken over our country through corporations.

though it looks very modern.. i’m feeling a bit dissapointed with the lack of bali touch too it, it’s be great if the architecture design involves a bit of bali here and there, even just from the interior like from the paintings in the bedrooms as well. where do all these building materials & furniture comes from? i hope some of it comes from the locals from Bali. 🖤
Thanks for your input. Yes most of the materials are locally sourced. The stone tiles are paras kerobokan from Bali. I see what you mean about lacking Bali design, but this was the request and style of the owner who is very happy with it. Thanks 🙏

Lovely villa. I noticed the solar panels on the roof. Would have been nice to mention that and the eco friendly features, if any. The nature surroundings is beautiful. I almost like the outdoors more than the indoors. Just because I'm a nature person! 😀

Hi Ardy, this is locally produced sandstone. Bali has many dark volcanic sand beaches so its common to find all sorts of volcanic stone tiles in villas across the island
