Wow I wish I saw this video a month ago! I just received one of these and they are absolutely awesome! Definitely need to lock tight everything like a full rebuild! The Portal Axles are awesome and thanks for showing how to adjust the castor as I didn't know they could be adjusted like that! Always awesome videos Kev, thank you from Down Under in Oz!
The transmission can be flipped around if you desired it that way. It is held on by the 4 screws and can be flipped. It’s built just like an axial scx10

Omg yes please add some stuff to this truck it looks great. Your idea of adding extra long suspension sounds like a great idea. Plus making it a 4 wheel steer sounds like a big job but why not try it!
Yes kevin the venom ridgeline tires are 2.2 they came stock on the venom creeper crawler before switching to the saw backs. Love your channel
Kev, you should try putting the infraction's hoons tyres on the trx6 when you're gonna do the brushless conversion on it later and see if it'll smoke the tyres

Awesome bit of kit Kev👍 you should run a Tamiya hard body on that BEAST!!! That amount of detail on the chassis needs a badass hard body from Tamiya like a highlift or a clodbuster would be cool AF too!

Yeah banggood isn’t great took 2 1/2 months just to get a set of tires form them. Customer service was horrible to. For the price you can get a brand new rtr trx4 sport and a good lipo!
Just go support the proper hobbyists not banggood cheap stuff. Buying cheap stuff off china doesn’t support the hobby

With the castor angle forward like it was you get a better steering radius as the tires turn they also lean over a bit. People thought I was crazy rolling my enduro ones forward till they saw it turn in a comp I was at.

I like this build. I think it would be really awesome with 4 wheel steering making the ultimate banggood crawler. Then you could take it to the rc park track and do a test between that and a trx4. Also you should do a trx4 sport body with the cage and the lights. Something different than the proline bodies. Just my input. Thank you for the content and keeping a smile while under quarantine for the past couple months. Glad to see you able to get out and rc more!!

Connor Craig .....back in the 80s & early 90s there was two monster trucks that had van bodies: “The Lunch Box”, & “The Boogie Van”.... Kevin could do a recreation/ his version of one of each... 🤔

This Crawler is a work of art.... Hmmmm do I need another!?? Nice review mate!
Mine came in two weeks or so ago. Pretty nice. But when I tried it, it turned out the front axle was dead. Turns out there was a missing cross pin in the transfercase. So yeah, the parts are good, but the assembly is as chinese as ever. Otherwise, it's a great kit and I'm finishing up the PowerWagon body for it soonish so I can run it and look good! And the Powerwagon body fits decently even with the wheels.
did BanGood help you out with he parts? there were useless to me, Mine came with a bent Axle and promised a partial refund but never sent it.

The quality is just superb. Id prefer the servo to be chassis mounted . But those portal axles just look great . It's a very tempting buy and I think good value for the price. Quality commands a high price tag usually 👍
I almost bought this but decided I needed to get something with proven reliability instead, but if this turns out to be as good as it looks I might have to get one after all. I'm very interested in a full upgrade series to find out what aftermarket parts are compatible with it.
14:54: I like the 1966 Ford F-100 body only with the roll bar in back. Plenty of wheel clearance and a cool look.
Just a tip I know this video is old
But when building that kind of wheel, put the 4 screws in the back first and then take one out at a time and put the thread locker on one at a time, that way the rest are holding the wheel together and you don’t have to worry about the beed coming out

My Redcat Gen 8 AXE Edition has portal axles, a fully waterproof brushless system, and a very nice body stock.
You should put a Toyota landcruiser body shell on the crawler

Great looking chassis and love those cast and machined axles. Knowing you like a crawler, it would be great see you review the Traction Hobby Founder 2. All metal portal axles, 2wd/4wd selectable, 2spd, remote locking diffs and 1/8th scale on 2.2 tyres. I've stuck a HW AXE 550 combo in and it's really impressive!

This is a fantastic video and something I've been looking at myself, I'm a bit worried at the wheel base , I've heard it's short , if you can find time to answer Kev , I'd be very interested to know what it's wheelbase is like compared to say an axial scx10 ii ?? And can you use normal 1/10 bodies ??

Hey Kevin I have an idea for you. It would be super cool to measure the tractive effort of these trucks. There's a butload of content there. You could compare tires and all manner of things.

@@Mick8254 took a while since I ordered right before Thanksgiving. It came from california too. After getting it and making a close inspection the plastic body is thick. Seems durable.

Here in Idaho someone has a Food Mustang on a 4x4 chassis. That would be a very cool crawler to have.
You can put the center wheel hub on the other side to give you a wider stance.
Kev u can get a 2 speed transmission off of eBay for an scx 10 I reckon that would fit in there
Rear bolt holes dont line up ..you have to make a small bracket for the two speed I just did one

Kev, I love your videos and the fact you are trying to help others reach financial freedom! But, I do have a question, I’m in the market for a new RC and I’m not sure what to get. I’ve had an old Tamiya buggy, a Losi stadium truck and a Traxxas emaxx but that was all way before the brushless/LiPo craze. Can you give me a recommendation on a cheap (under $500) rtr basher that is reliable and I will enjoy. Thanks and keep the videos coming!!!

Move the battery tray to the front and the receiver box to the rear. Need to get creative and shim under the battery tray for servo clearance at full compression. Makes it much more capable if you are looking for that. Toss a proline Chevy zr2 body on it lol
Hey Kev you should definitely try out the new Losi Desert Buggy XL-E 2.0 a it’s complete monster and I love playing with it and feel like you’d love it too it is a 1/5 scale buggy and super cool, there’s not too many customizable parts you can buy yet but there are a few aluminum and other aftermarket parts you can get for it. It is on the pricy side tho I bought mine for $1200 US dollars and the Losi smart batteries were $150 US dollars each (which of course it takes two 4 cell batteries)
So the RC car comes with no servo, battery, motor or radio. and all your paying for is £80 worth of carbon fiber and aluminium for £200

Had portals you could adjust the caster angle or whatever similar to these ones. Never gonna purchase a pair of those again lol gonna be using solid all the way through from now on, works good if you dont actually use your crawler almost daily though.

Hey kev thats an ace package for the money! Also, luv that 20kg servo for under a tenner!?? I often buy "cheap" servos for my rc stuff, and 99% of them have served me faultlessly for multiples of YEARS!! I honestly don't see the point of paying £100+ for servos if it's not for something that specifically requires the absolute highest possible precision and reliability!?? In all other circumstances these "cheap" servos are a match for most of the top spec servos and give you 10 times the kg/cm Torque per £'s spent when compared to the price of "high end" servos! They're the most under-rated rc items available today imo! Cheers Kev!

quick tip for mounting tires to beadlock wheels. put your tires in the freezer overnight, it will stiffen them up and make them easier to seat the beads.

I wanna build myself a crawler and thinking about purchasing the kit suggested in your video.
I would like to ask few questions though..
1. are the diff's locked? or somhow lockable?
As far as understand, crawlers require locked diff's (am I right?)
And if the diff's aren't locked in that kit, What should I do?
Another question,
Would a "Proline 1946 Dodge Power Wagon" Body fit that kit? (asking since it runs 2.2 wheels)
