That is very clever to use an off road recovery winch. Cheap, available everywhere, easily fixable, easily replaceable. Way more practical than a dedicated hydraulic system.

That technique is quite illegal without a "WIDE VEHICLE" permit. Vehicles have to be under 102 inches and mounted that way that bike is 106 inches wide. How much extra did you have to pay to buy wide load permits these past 8 or so years?

Don't listen to the haters . This is a very nice design and uses very little afford loading a 850lb touring bike.

Do yourself a big favor, get a real hydraulic lift, omit most of these steps, and don't forget to load a real motorcycle.
