Seeing that SAYU is a reference to Vocaloid, these covers were gonna happen eventually.
I always assumed she was referring to the boom of virtual youtubers that's happened over the passed several years, but I can see the Vocaloid influence.

@@runezunn6655 I pretty sure because you could see the kid who was doing the voice and that she was in fact doing it live, it would lean far more towards being a reference to V-Tubers like Peko, especially since they call her an Idol instead of a Diva.
Yeah it doesn't really work as a vocaloid reference really. The entire dynamic of how vocaloids and vocaloid music gets made and published is pretty much entirely different.
I think it's a mix of the two of them where it's both virtual idols and vocaloids.

Man, Miku English has gotten way better. I feel like an old fart for remembering the days when artists would basically have to strangle the program five different ways to make somewhat comprehensible English words from a japanese-rooted program. I've heard that Japanese is a lot easier to program phonemes for than English. Now... it sounds a lot closer to natural.
Well the Phonemes part is true because in Japanese Vowel sounds are always constant never deviating from the same 5 Vowel sounds after the base consonant sound, Where as in English we have close to 20+ Vowel sounds with only 5 Vowel letters unless you count "y" as our 6th Vowel (but the pint still remains).
It's weird watching Miku grow up like this, isn't it?

@@MegaDoogles i actually bought the english ost and the japanese track is on there as well as the french versions of dk west.
The original game has at least three versions for every song, except for West songs, that are just two official, english and french (french sounds way more powerful imo)
For Sayu, you have the normal, the vaporwave, the rock and the japanese version (the best one because of how she is depicted, if you ask me).
Just because there's a japanese dub of the song doesn't mean sayu is a vocaloid
You know. Now that this has been made, I was thinking about what this whole Boss fight would have looked like if Mayday and Zuke were fighting the original Miku. I can imagine the weird leg-ponytail Miku being her weird final form.

Miku would definitely use a Leek/ Spring onion as a melee weapon and the turquoise cube things you see in the Project Diva opening videos could be good for ranged attacks. I wonder what module could be her cute form? There's just too many to choose from.

I remember having a visit to Metronomik.
They wanted one of the boss design to look as much as a pop star as possible and Hatsune Miku came into mind in one of their draft. I imagine those ideas evolved into SAYU, given the fact that the artist is very good at drawing mermaids.

I really like the design of Hatsune as Sayu. Those two work really well together design-wise.
Only played through the encore edition now and was very surprised when I saw this version of Sayu in-game
I needed this in my life. I love this cover and can't wait to hear an updated mix of it!

i dont see anyone else saying it so im just gonna say it : the first vocaloid i thought of when it comes to sayu was mayu because, well,,,, just look at their names. pretty self explanatory-
anyways, this is an amazing cover ! i think miku's voice suits the song very nicely, and i hope to hear even more vocaloid covers of this song in the future. ( especially rin because she's my favorite 👉👈 )
