Happy new year Dale. Good to see the choice of R & L Thompson as your first choice. I tend to enjoy Traffic's album from John barleycorn on - picked up the 2nd album towards the back end of last year and was underwhelmed by it to be honest. When you showed the first volume of the Island book I meant to follow up and get a copy - for some reason I never did. Will definitely have to get the 2nd volume. Nice response sir... Cheers... Pete
Happy New Year Dale - really enjoyed your contribution to this thread/ Tag. I love “Dusty in Memphis” and Island Records is a wonderful choice. Pink Floyd is a great choice too. Have a healthy and prosperous 2025. - Cheers Bill
Happy New Year, Dale! Lots of great picks there. I’d love to pick up a copy of Parachute… need a copy of SF Sorrow too! I love that Traffic debut, definitely don’t need weed for that 😂 Amy is certainly missed. Loved seeing her live. The term “icon” gets overused, but completely fitting for Amy Winehouse. I wouldn’t even know Daltrey’s political stance 🤷♂️ Here’s to a brilliant 2025! Cheers, Jack
Happy New Year Jack! When I got Parachute there was also a copy of SF Sorrow but it wasn't so clean and a lot more, so the reissue will have to do unless a car boot delivers...cheers Dale
Beatles versus Stones? Kinks was a great answer! Like you I’m more likely to listen to Face To Face and Something Else than those first two bands. Union City Blue is easily my favourite Blondie single. Very best wishes for the new year, Dale.
Hi David - Grab yourself a copy of the Island book...not only is it fascinating but you can also incorporate it into a new year fitness regime as it weighs a ton...cheers Dale
Like you I spend most of my time listening to newer music, 60s and 70s albums don’t get played much unless it’s punk. Lots of tag, I have one possibly coming out to confuse you more Dale lol
HNY Dale. I've still not dabbled into Opeth. I reckon I'd dig them somewhere in their back catalogue. I still blame Pete Doherty for ruining Amy....... There are loads of great VC particularly UK channels and we are a pretty varied bunch best not to single anyone out so nicely done 👍✅
Happy new year Dale. The Island book looks great..I think I own a fair chunk of those titles you briefly showed on the rear. My brother and I often discuss Blondies' records, particularly the singles..I would say Atomic is probably my favourite. " Tag gate" was ridiculous..record collecting and politics definitely don't mix. All the best Rob.
Happy New Year, Dale! I've got Calexico's Spiritoso, but I don't remember it being a RSD release. I think I ordered my copy from the band's website, but I could be wrong. You mentioned yours being a numbered edition, does that mean that it's the US Anti version? Mine's the City Slang edition on white vinyl. Bloody good live set. They've always been quite wide-screen cinematic, but the orchestra just ups the ante. Cheers - Hedley
Hi Hedley and Happy New Year. I went for the RSD (US I think) version of Spiritoso as it comes with a CD that has a couple of extra tracks. I agree that adding orchestra makes Calexico even more cinematic than usual...cheers Dale
Good stuff Dale. That Island book looks nice. The tag thing seems to have created a bit of controversy this year. Clearly some very sensitive folk out there. HNY my friend, Chris
Some very good picks there Dale. The Island book looks interesting. Politics is always a tricky one, but I feel neutral in the fact that I hate them all. Whoever these people are working for, its not us/me. However I must admit I loved Rogers Brexit put down of Sky news. It was a welcome breath of fresh air in a sea of bias propagandised media BS day in day out. Happy New year 👍
Great choice with Blondie and that Island records book looks excellent 👌

Happy New Year Dale. Nice to see Nocturne, a fantastic live album. Dusty in Memphis is just a wonderful album. Cheers Mike 👍
Happy New Year to you too Mike. I really must try and find a nice OG of Dusty in Memphis given I love it so much...cheers Dale

Happy New Year to you too Bill. The Island Records story is fascinating...cheers Dale
Nice mix, Dale. I have a few of those Island records on the back of the book. I need to check out that Calexico live record! Have a fabulous 2025
Happy New Year Andy! The Calexico live is great as it adds orchestra which ups the cinematic sound even more...cheers Dale
Impeccable taste loved your choices
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed them. Cheers Dale

Happy New Year to you too John. Snap on Union City Blue being Blondie's best single, although for me it is a tighter call. Cheers Dale
Nice video Dale - goodness I want that Island Records Book now - Cheers - D

Happy New Year Rob! The Island book is great, and massive, so doubles as a new year exercise regime...
