Can you beat ALL Monster Camps BEFORE the first Blood Moon??

- The blood moon is Breath of the Wilds main way of replenishing the world full of enemies after lots of battles against the player...but what if we were able to clear all 54 of the main camps before the very first one? Considering this event happens just nearly 3 hours into the game, this isn't gonna be an easy task - but shall be a fun challenge nonetheless!! I hope you all enjoy :)

The fact that you did this without using a Shrine to delay the Blood Moon is really impressive.
Guess that kinda defeats the purpose since if you delay the blood moon it removes the challenge entirely.

thatd be really fun!! itd require more than just using glitches to move across the world, youd have to use really good combat strats too (which coud lead to really creative routing). i wanna see this now

They haven’t told us much about BOTW2 because they’re trying to figure out how to make the system hard for croton to find out.

I don't know if anyone else is noticing, but _I_ am noticing how much of the combat you synced to the music.
I know a cymbal will go off at the next appropriate beat when you land a hit.

Dang the perseverance this guy has. Went through all those camps and then the blood moon popped up so he STARTED OVER and did it all again but faster! What a mad lad
I did something like this. I killed all Taluses, Hinoxes, Moldugas, Lynels, and most of the Guardians but I delayed the blood moon by staying in shrines and hyrule castle.
I have been living that life as well along with no guardians as well for about 2 years now. I have been trying to kill even all minor enemies during 23hr day trips away from the castle. The game does not like it though. I get the sudden and back to back blood moons. Then i just reload my hard save and have fun again. Sometimes i let the blood moon go just to have fun hunting the mini bosses again.
what the difference of delay the bloodmoon by shrine ?
@@theskywalker8416 after you go into a shrine right before a blood moon, it’ll reset the timer, giving you another 3 hours or so of bloodmoonless gameplay. If you do certain actions, the game can’t handle them and will force a blood moon to happen

Imagine just flying around trying to find a camp and then suddenly the Sidon cutscene plays without you being in the bridge.
I remember that I used to skip the blood moon by entering a sanctuary at the last moment. The Blood moon just waits to next the next night for some reason.
Because the blood moon is used to save the game as well, so if it doesn't work properly, it glitches the game. So that's why it goes off the next night, so that it can save as fast as possible.

@@fakeAratPrime to provide a little more detail, the game remembers what effects you've had on the world, the enemies you've killed, the loose items you've picked up, etc. However, there's a limit to how much the game can remember, at least the way they designed it, and so one function the Blood Moon provides is to reset everything so that the game can "forget" all of those details.
It's also probably a game design function as well. The world would become too barren over time if things didn't reset.

You can skip it by warping to a shrine/tower in the last moment, the clock resets but no monsters come back

I mean technically speaking it's not a glitch. It's just using intended mechanics in an unintended method.
@@AdaTheWatcher TECHNICALLY it is a glitch, as it exploits the mechanic where momentum is multiplied during bullet time.
To be clear, this does not mean I think it's wrong to use them. But it is true that windbombs use a glitch.

Each fight had to be 3.11111111 minutes to barely do it. EXCLUDING TRAVEL AND OTHER THINGS.

i dont know how long it takes you to fight but 3 minutes is a long fight.
@@richardlooch2109 Doesnt the music that indicates a fight is difficult because of how long the fight track has been playing start by like, half that time? Considering cheese and stealth, I think Croton just defied the math.

Woah!!! I didn’t know you could even DO that without a panic blood moon! It’s incredible that on your second run you were able to do that with more than an entire in game day to spare!!

I remember when I first started botw and heard about "hyrule being overrun by monsters" I actually planned to kill all of them and free the land, so I killed all the enemies on the great plateau, but then one day as I was skipping the night at a campfire I got the blood moon cutscene. At first I thought Zelda was going to remind me to get my shit together and actually progress the story... needless to say, I was very disappointed lol
I think I’d much prefer the game if the blood moons stopped after you defeat Ganon. Then there would be real progress you can make in cleaning up Hyrule. But at the same time I know Kilton would be sooo upset
@Jogjosmowwdkfs maybe the blood moon could only respawn monsters at those skull camps and the minibosses to make make it balanced

tbh i didnt know i had to parry the bees to get rid of them, i always bombed them before they get to me, good to know tho
You don't have to, you can just hit them twice with a sword
If you hold a lit torch up, then once they get close they fly away without attacking.

It's impressive to see the skill growth between the first two runs
This was one of my favorite gameplay videos of BOTW to watch yet. Props to you for defeating all the camps, and then editing all this gameplay... especially after failing narrowly the first time, and then trying again after learning speedrun tactics. It must have taken forever, but it definitely must feel like it was worth it for such an awesome video!
I can't believe you fit 6+ hours of the stream in less than 50 minutes, amazing!

I want this to be a category extension for botw speedruns
Considering there are runs for doing certain things before other things happen in other games, a "kill as many as you can before Blood Moon" run could be interesting (extend from monster camps to adding bosses and more, with a shrineless run so there's two different runs between clearing the map and "how many can you kil" 🤔 )
It's possible, I mean, there's even a dope% which is so wrong in a Zelda game and has a world record of 1:30 approx... So it's possible...

in case you are wondering, he had just over 3 min to defeat each monster camp on average, and that's not including the travel time between each one. he had three min to go to a monster camp and defeat it, on average.

are the coolest monsters in
BoTW, in my opinion.
I hate lizalfos they are really annoying especially in the water but they have amazing weapons so yeah
Lizalfos are irritating as hell so I think moldugas and lynels are the coolest

the first two low health greens run towards him, then jump away, making him miss and whiff
the thirduses their shield to tank a boomerang hit that might have gone through and hit the other lizalfos
then the blue lizalfos with more damage flanks croton without him noticing and, using the green's distraction, kills him before he has time to react

You never get a blood moon during The Isolated Plateau (I thought the bomb shrine was a guardian and was there for 75 hours) but when you complete it the blood moon will happen that night if you were there for at least 2 hours 48 minutes

@Justin Powers 2:48:15 is the amount of time without menus before blood moon, so I’m not wrong. Blood moon is on a timer. Since I was way over the time, it had to give it the same night.
@Justin Powers that’s why I said if you were there at least that long. The timer still goes, the moon can’t happen until the plateau is beaten.

I would have loved the option for the blood moon to stop after beating the game. Being able to destroy all monsters for good. I just want a post game in zelda. A post evil world.(that would probably be a lot of work for the devs though)

Every day I learn something new about this game
a challenge that I thought of,
the rules:
You cannot hold living items in the materials section of the inventory (i.e flowers, fruit, mushrooms, misc, animals/insects and meat) for more than 10 minutes at a time, this excludes monster parts, guardian parts, minerals, fairies and dragon parts.
Any food item you wish to eat from your materials section, must be washed first, and any meals from the food section must be eaten in as soon as you make it.
In cold areas materials last 15 minutes and in hot areas materials last 5 minutes.
When it gets to night you have to sleep, unless you are in a divine beast or shrine.
You can modify this if you want to make it more difficult or easy for yourself.

They've got a lot of character. Personally, I like Lizalfos more. I find them more fun to fight.

From what i have gleaned from other comments, panic blood moons are nearly impossible to trigger on switch without intentionally setting them up

I have a hard challenge: Do genocide. Kill every single living thing even guardians and destroy every single tree. You can delay blood moons with shrines or even remove them doing the sidon glich

When you realise Croton could've cleared all of the Bokoblin desert camps in one fell swoop if he just invested his rupees into stealth armour and gathered wood/fire arrows to just sneak strike all the bokoblins there.

9:53 pov: youre just normal bokoblin having a normal day sitting by a campfire when in the distance you see link riding a brown horse and see all your friends get run over by a horse then link jumps off his horse, and shoots you with a bow.
I really wish there was end-game content after beating gannon to systematicly wipe out every single monster camp and monster in the game. Like... a good ol final cleanup.

If that's the case, I highly doubt it would take at all longer.
