Fun fact, “Testudo erat Numen” has a counterpart card with a slight mistranslation. What is “The God That Will Be Called Turtle (Numen *erit* Testudo)” is instead "The God That Once Was Called Turtle. (Numen erat Testudo)” For anyone curious of the actual reason of Bee Squared name being that is I believe simply because “ハチビー(Hachibii)” is ‘hachi’ the Japanese word for bee and ‘bee’ hence Bee Squared And for D-HERO Captain Tenacious, it’s according to Yugipedia because it “references the British army officer Sir William Inglis, and his historic phrase, ‘Die hard 57th, Die hard!’, keeping in relation with the European theme of the "Destiny HERO" archetype.”
Oh... OH... I was SO stupid. In German, the names of the cards are "Göttlich war die Schildkröte" and "Die Schildkröte war Göttlich". Both expressions could be translated to "The tortoise was divine") (in German the order of words in a sentence can often be changed without problems, so both statements basically mean the same). The thing is: For some weird reason, I never read that statement as the tortoise being compared to a god. For some weird reason, I thought that someone praised the taste of the tortoise. Basically like "The meat tasted heavenly" "the tortoise was divine". I know it doesn't make much sense and I feel kinda stupid because of it. xD Maybe I was too hungry to think straight back then... xD
the thing about sphere kuriboh is that the english name of kuriboh is kuriboh, and thus the archetype is kuriboh. kuriball works fine when it's rendered as kuribōru because the japanese name of kuriboh is kuribō, and thus the japanese archetype is kuribō, but to mimic that in english would give you kuribohll, which ... yeah. and for further context, translating the archetype as "kuri" or "kurib" wouldn't have worked, since there's kuriboh-adjacent cards that _aren't_ in the kuriboh archetype, such as kuribon, kurivolt ( both use the short o instead of the long ō in japanese, in case you were wondering how they don't get caught under kuribō ), and literally all of kuriboh's brothers. which, yes, kuriboh has brothers incidentally, mitch should do a quiz that somehow works in funny archetype stuff, like with hero kid
33:20 Yu-Gi-Oh is a very combo heavy game where every card you can pull out of your deck can bring exponential growth to your game plan. He's Bee Squared because he's a massive nerd (as seen in the fact that he turned himself into a cyborg). Every time he got invited to a party the other bees said "be there or be square" and he never went.
I have a few suggestion for future Digimon evolution line quiz in case if Digimon Liberator don't reveal more evolutions eventually or after the Sunarizamon quiz: - Pteromon line (it's the only one of the Liberator cast you guys didn't do a quiz of it) - Gammamon line (I know he have multiple champions and ultimates, but do something similar to the Impmon quiz: one been his main red evolution and his dark evolution. You could even add their fusion in the end or as a bonus round) - maybe one for the two from Ghost Game like Angoramon and Jellymon - maybe one for Appmon like the main line for Gatchmon? You could even add the appmon he fuse with to evolved on the quiz, which could be cool
My favorite thing about Beaver Warrior is no one knows why he's called that, because his Japanese name is Louise (option 4, in case you missed it!) and no one knows why that's his Japanese name either!
So to explain why Captain Tanacious is Die Hard Guy in Japanese it's because in Japanese every Destiny Hero has a name that is "Destiny Hero [insert D word here] Guy so "Die Hard Guy" is basically taking his effect of making another monster of yours harder to kill by reviving the other monster and just using a phrase that means "hard to kill" that starts with a "D"
and as a result some of their names in japanese sounds outright hilarious in english like "Dagger Guy", "Departed Guy", "Disk Guy", "Dream Guy", "Dynamite Guy", "Doom Guy", "Diabolic Guy", "Deadly Guy", "Dominate Guy" etc
Bee^2 is just a fan translation on the wikia, the OCG name is "Hachibii" which is the Japanese word for "Bee" followed by "Bee." Technically a direct translation thus is "Beebee" which some wikia editor chose to make it a ^2. Kuriball doesn't really work because of the way that mechanics in the game work where archetypes need to share a line of text in their name to be considered part of the archetype. "Kuriboh" is an archetype denoted by the Japanese text "クリボー" and the English text "Kuriboh" which is more versatile to make puns but it is not as easy in English. "Kuriball" would make it not part of the "Kuriboh" archetype, it would need to be written as "Kuribohll" which most players probably would mispronounce anyway. The TCG could give them text saying "this card is always treated as a 'Kuriboh' monster" and add in the wordplay but they only really do that for legacy cards that they aren't freshly translating and might risk further complications down the line. Easier to just drop the pun.
The explanation for Bee List Soldier, according to Yugipedia: "The pronunciation of this card's Japanese name, "Bee²" (ハチビー Hachibī), is a portmanteau of the Japanese and English words for "bee", hence the monster being named "bee squared". This card's English name is a pun on the term, "B-list", which is used to describe something second-rate." Also, I didn't know the Japanese word for "bee" (hachi) sounded the same as the number 8, and now I realized the layers of puns Kishimoto used for Killer Bee. Eight Tails = Hachibi, but since "hachibī" means "bee bee", it only makes sense that the Jinchuriki of the Eight Tails is called Bee. Also, regarding Testudo Erat Numen, or the objectively better The Turtle Once Called God: "This card's Japanese name is a pun; Turtle (Kame) and God (Kami) have similar pronunciations. Most Japanese puns tend to be wordplays, even if the translated sentence makes little sense." And the card has a counterpart, whose original name translates to "The God That Will Be Called Turtle". Sadly, in the TCG they called it Numen erat Testudo, just changed the word order, which doesn't even change the meaning. So while the Japanese names play on each other in an interesting way (The God That Will Be Called Turtle / The Turtle Once Called God), in the TCG they mean the same thing ("turtle was divine" and "divine was turtle" if translated literally).
33:08 It's Bee Squared, because you need it (1) + 1 more insect to draw 2 cards, the total of cards it affects is 4, hence it's squared. Also it's a pun on Squire, cause the bee has armor like it's a knight in training.
awesome episode! Mitch, you wickedly brilliant genius utterly badabing-badabonged them xD also Bee² is called that, because all other bees met there, while he was the only one who wasn't there, thus square. Bee^2 is a reference to Buzz Squared from the hit fanfiction 'Earthbound 3: Mother 4', who is a weird little alien insect from the future, who normally is a super hot alien allegedly with feet that look like human ears. He was killed by getting swatted by a policeman, unfortunately. You can tell it's a reference because Bee^2 has a measly 500 ATK, meaning that the card Space-Time Police can easily destroy it, representing Buzz Squared's fate.

Because of how archetype naming works in yugioh, ocg’s characters for kuriboh and kuriball would be the same except for a single “ru” character at the end of kuriboh. They’d either have to name it kuribohll for it to work or give it another name. Think ball kuriboh would’ve been better but sphere kuriboh is fine to at least make the gameplay implication work
It's possible they didn't want to put Kuriboh on the same level as Ra by using the same terminology. But it's very likely they just dropped the Kuriball on this one.

In the ancient medieval set of bees, there was once the Geometry Wars. Originally of the Triangulum, the bee brandished a weapon against it's ideals...one more...linear. The problem is their math sucked, so all the armor of the bee was of the squared set. With his ally, the high celebrity of the squares, the bee looks...to see all that there is to see squared, so that balance may once again be restored to the world.
I swear to god I thought Bee Soldier was called Beetrooper, then I looked it up and found out BeeTrooper is an entire archetype I have never heard of, and i knew there was no way in hell it was battlewasp, cause that is an archetype i do know.
Beetroopers and Battle Wasps were both decks I rolled up to a function with that nobody there had ever heard of before. Earned myself the title of YuGiOh Cryptid among my card game friends for that one lol
I was like "Hmmm. I'm pretty sure that was DIE HARD GUY..." And apparently, he is. And I remembered that name from a fake YGO card (that was probably directly translated by the knock off card makers)
well you see, bee^2 is actually a really cool name with a great backstory. so the backstory goes, that the professor at a robotics lab came across this wounded bee on his morning jog around the campus he worked for. normally he wouldn't have thought anything of it, just another animal fallen to natural selection, but this time was different. the creatures tenacity and spirit to live on inspired the professor, and he felt compeled to help it get back on its legs... no, get BETTER THEN EVER!! he had his work cut out for him though. the bee had sistained some heavy damage, missing both legs and antennae, but that was nothing the scholar hadn't built before. the procedure dragged on for days without end, robotics tested, parts replaced, sweat and tears POURED into his work. he had to save this bee. after what felt like an eternity, the teacher came before his students, the lights in the auditorium went out... and his voice rang out. "you may not know where i've been, or what i have worked on... but i am now ready to tell you the new coolest thing to come out of our robotics facility..." he took a deep breath. "you know what's cooler than cool? you know what, it is hip to BE??? IT'S HIP TO BEE^2!!!!"
When i saw Louise in the options i was like "Mitch is going to tell them that if they picked that option they would won a point because that name is funny as fuck and had nothing to do with anything else" but nothing xD then the plot twist... great video guys.

I am pretty sure its called sphere karibo in english becasue it looks like winged dragon of ra sphere mode even if there is no actual intended connection
The more I look at beaver warrior the more it reminds me of biker mice from Mars for some reason
Merry Chrysler guys
The supposed Christmas episode doesn’t have Ghost Beef, Mild Turkey, or Santa Claws.
Bee squared is actually called that because its lore is that it has been cybernetically enhanced to have the strength of 2 bees
Its name is Bee Squared because you tribute it and another insect to draw two cards. At least, that’s the most reasonable answer I can think of.
Jingle Tylers bells is the opening statement. its time!~~~~~
Beaver Warrior is a warrior who slays beaver.
I was like "Hmmm. I'm pretty sure that was DIE HARD GUY..."
And apparently, he is. And I remembered that name from a fake YGO card (that was probably directly translated by the knock off card makers)
clearly yall aren't thinking enough, it's called bee squared because it's in a square frame on a rectangular card.
well you see, bee^2 is actually a really cool name with a great backstory.
so the backstory goes, that the professor at a robotics lab came across this wounded bee on his morning jog around the campus he worked for.
normally he wouldn't have thought anything of it, just another animal fallen to natural selection, but this time was different.
the creatures tenacity and spirit to live on inspired the professor, and he felt compeled to help it get back on its legs... no, get BETTER THEN EVER!!
he had his work cut out for him though. the bee had sistained some heavy damage, missing both legs and antennae, but that was nothing the scholar hadn't built before.
the procedure dragged on for days without end, robotics tested, parts replaced, sweat and tears POURED into his work. he had to save this bee.
after what felt like an eternity, the teacher came before his students, the lights in the auditorium went out... and his voice rang out.
"you may not know where i've been, or what i have worked on... but i am now ready to tell you the new coolest thing to come out of our robotics facility..."
he took a deep breath.
"you know what's cooler than cool?
you know what, it is hip to BE???
IT'S HIP TO BEE^2!!!!"
I never knew they made a Yugioh Card based on Buck Bumble wow
@@MitchFromFBS and here i was thinking that i finally had an original thought XP
I thought I was triping on beaver warrior. When I saw the JP name lol
Bee^2 is called such because its effect uses itself and one other insect to draw 2 cards, thus 2 bees turning into 2 cards
I *knew* there was something off!
This was the most crazy game yet!!!
YES! LOUISE! MY GUY! MY GOAT! lol.
Oh, and uh... Bee squared is bee squared because you kill two bees and draw two cards, obviously. DUH!
When i saw Louise in the options i was like "Mitch is going to tell them that if they picked that option they would won a point because that name is funny as fuck and had nothing to do with anything else" but nothing xD then the plot twist... great video guys.
Kwanzaa 24 hour life stream, for its entirety
Rock Ogre Grotto two scents?
So its pretty simple, all the bars of bee^2 only has one flesh part, which is its pelvis area. Its two hips. Its hips two bee (square).
MITCH
Gardna cards only when? What about the opposite of here, where you choose the mental ones like Hip hop Sue Me Gigant ans Hyronzeru where its untranslated o,O. I have no doubt more exist in the same vein?
Kinda suck to not give them the second chance at guessing the alternate answer like
It's called that because you need two Bees to tribute to get to draw 2 cards.
If you could do the ghost girls as one of the rounds in a future quiz
