Now he's playing actual games.
The huge adventure was my first crash game and was really fun.
Huge Adventure (aka XS in Europe) was my first GBA game and I freaking loved it.

Crash Nitro Kart on GBA was so much fun when I was a kid, I revisited it not too long ago and it was still good

Hobez 64 Same here. I never got a chance to play the console version, but I had a ton of fun playing the GBA version growing up.
That’s exactly how I feel about Crash Nitro Kart.
It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s just a fun little game.
And that’s how I like some games like CNK GBA.

Crash Bandicoot: The HUGE Adventure was my first GBA game. I just recently did a 101% run, still love it.
Crash had an interesting run on the GBA.

Not really, space station silicon valley did it first so if anything both games ripped off the mechanic from that.
Yeah, tbh, while Super Mario Odyssey is strongly appreciable for having characters like Mario himself Cappy, Tiara, Pauline, Glydon, Bowser, Moe-Eye and the list just goes on, I find it to be closer to a mixed bag than one of the greatest Mario games up to the ranks of most of the Wario (ex: Wario World) & Donkey Kong (Jungle Climber, Mario vs. Donkey Kong, the home console DKC pentalogy) games, Super Mario Land 2 and the RPGs that came before Bowser’s Inside Story.
Not just because in the ending, they made Princess Peach unlikeable, but in a new way where this time, they made her more like “fem-power” women from late 2010s Disney films like Belle, Bo Peep and Jasmine (though that did lead to understandable results, like, she went on adventures with Tiara, and admittedly, they’re fun!), but also because while it did its gameplay formula much better than Crash of the Titans, it still borrowed from it.
Spyro Orange is somehow even worse than Crash Purple.
I fear for Gil.
I feel the same way about the Crash/Spyro crossover.
That while Crash Purple does suck, Spyro Orange is beyond frustrating!

Let’s just face it.
With the exception of the criminally underrated Crash of the Titans, Crash Bandicoot is a franchise has been having low standards from the late 2000s (2004-2008) (Crash Purple/Spyro Orange - Mind Over Mutant).
Spyro’s dark age was also from the early 2000s (2001 - 2005), back when the only good games were Spyro: Season of Flame and Attack of the Rhynocs, and to a lesser extent, Spyro: A Hero’s Tail.
Let’s just face it. While both gaming franchises have mixed standards, Crash had more good games than bad games while Spyro had about as much (or more) bad than good.
So with that said, I shouldn’t be surprised if RabbidLuigi puts Spyro 3 on his list of Top 5 Great Games from Terrible Franchises (alongside Pac-Man World 2 or Pac-Man or both).
At least N-Tranced gave us Crunch rolling around in a T-pose, and that's good enough for me.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg to why the first game released in 2003 (N-Tranced) was and still is under-recognized.
Ironically the DS version of Titans by the same developer is actually really good. And that's not only me, many TH-camrs recently discovered the DS version and are pretty shocked.
Coming from a guy who feels like the home console version of CotT gets too much praise (while I don’t find it to be the worst Crash game up to the ranks of Spyro Orange or Crash Boom Bang, it’s close), I’m SHOCKED by how good (or even great) the DS version of the game is also!
The only Crash game I’ve ever played was the second one he talks about. I couldn’t beat the final boss and when I bought it (probably from a garage sale) the save file was already there. I lost that game though and still have my Spyro GBA game.

Same, Attack of the Rhynocs is also another one of the best handheld Spyro games.
But here’s the worst of them:
• Spyro Orange (two words: THE RHYNOC-TUGGING SECTIONS GO BY TOO FAST THAT EVEN IF I TRIED TO BUTTON-MASH THE B BITTON AS FAST AS POSSIBLE, I WOULD STILL LOSE, ESPECIALLY DURING THE HARDER VERSIONS!!!!!!)

Crash Bandicoot the Huge Adventure was my first Crash game, and I was EXTREMELY young when i played it

Sorry you mean't the DS, That Version is the underrated gem, the Ps2 version is just okay.
Except for the GBA version, Crash of the Titans (especially the DS version which feels even more like a late 1990s Crash game by Naughty Dog than Titans) is a hidden gem that comes with a high recommendation. 😊
Interesting tidbit you didn't mention in the video: The Huge Adventure and N. Tranced gave us Megamix and N. Trance, respectively, both of whom would turn up again years later as playable characters in Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled, with N. Trance sneaking into the base game by way of Nitro Kart(As Nitro Fueled is a remake of Crash Team Racing with Nitro Kart stuff included), and Megamix being added to the game as part of the second to last Grand Prix event(Though despite being added to the game in an event, he and the rest of the characters in Nitro Fueled are still obtainable today)
I got n-tranced bundled when I got my gba a few years ago, it was more value for my buck for a handheld that I was only going to play Pokemon on
I don't know if it's intentional but it sounds like you haven't played the story mode of CTR or Crash of the Titans
I played both the Crash and Spyro crossover games in the late 2000's. I remember Purple not being as bad as you made it out the be. It was fairly average at best, especially if you played Orange first because that one is definitely the worst out of the 2.

My only crash game experience is with the remake on pc. Despite having beautiful graphics, I game on an older laptop, so I had to lower the graphics until it looked like the original playstation.

7:36 if you thought this game was hot garbage then you should play the Spyro Version and after playing it this one will seem like a masterpiece in comparison

I actually own a combo pack of Nitro Cart and N-Tranced with both games on one cartridge. I've had it since I was a kid, and I loved them both then too

I have both Crash purple and Spyro orange. I honestly loved those games. And I did have the racing game but I don’t know where it is

I loved the exploration of the Crash/Spyro game.
It was definitely a hard game for my child brain though
I will say this, the crash of the titans port was made to be like its console counterpart. Crash (from what I remember) doesn’t have any actual spin attacks in place of a beat em up style game. That being said, it’s just as easy on the console version of the game
Crash was that Sonic clone that never really Launched. Mostly because the characters arent too engaging and the company doesn't turn it into a mascot.
Crash could of been good on GBA. But it seemed like that Hard Simple Platforming. Just puts out a really simple game that isn't too fun.
what makes Crash fun is seeing him die in different ways and seeing his shoes getting left behind or his ghost floating off screen.
I was so excited at the idea of that Spyro and Crash crossover. Never played em until I got to borrow them from a friend. And my god. They are worse than Gilly makes em look. Like you can't wrap you're head around it until you try it.

I wonder if the Crash and Spyro games were minigame collection-y so then it barely mattered which one you played, you got similar experiences (I remember Caddy's Spyro Orange video also mostly being about it being a minigame collection) so maybe they were going for the pokemon philosophy of "version barely matters" idea if that makes sense
Well at least Crash Fusion (or Purple) is playable...ish? Spyro Fusion/Orange is the worst GBA game I have ever played.
For the record, I you decide to check the Nintendo DS Crash games, the only one that's good is Crash of the Titans.
But heads up, the same engine that was used to make that game, was also used to make Madagascar 2 DS.
it's actually a bit surreal how similar they are, its almost as if Madagascar 2 DS was a sequel to Crash of the Titans DS.
the PS2 and PSP versions of Crash of Titans were actually pretty good

I had a these games. Haven't thought about them in years lol. When I was a kid they were to hard for me. Didn't dump much time into them.

Thanks to Caddicarus, we know that Cash Banooka the Huge Adventure was called Crash Bandicoot XS (maybe Crash Extra Small?) in Europe. Also, apparently Crash Purple was called Crash Fusion.

Yeah, Mario Party DS did that same thing, only Bowser just shrunk the playable characters and not the whole planet.

i remember owning ripto's rampage when i was younger and the cartridge freaking out during startup, resulting in it booting into some strange puzzle game. freaked me the fuck out at the time, funny now. still have no idea what exactly triggered it and haven't seen anything online about it either. probably a re-flashed chip on the cartridge lol

BION (Believe it or not), I would probably consider great TH-camrs’ videos being short an advantage that way I can check out more content from them rather than be stuck on the same video if I choose to watch it!
This is what I like about late 2000s TH-cam; that sure, it was made impossible to make a TH-cam video that would be over 10 minutes, but because TH-cam has *SO MUCH VIDEOS* it would be considered more of a blessing than a shortcoming that videos are short, that way I can not spend too much time.
Crash nitro kart on GBA was my first crash game.
My first Crash game was The Wrath of Cortex.
Though Crash Nitro Kart was close, if only it were HANDS-DOWN my first game.
Then again, The Wrath of Cortex is only a game I liked more from my childhood, but Crash Nitro Kart is a massive step-up!

I grew up with Ntranced and the GBA version of Nitro Kart, gotta say the former is one of my all time favourite the latter a game that is amazingly good for the system it was on in-fact I prefer it over the console port
I remember that I beat Crash of the Titans on the GBA multiple times as a kid.
I won’t lie. I actually did enjoy crash purple as a kid. I didn’t think it was better then anything I was playing at the time but for a kid the games are pretty simple mainly cause the only require moving and pressing the A button most of the time. Collecting the cards while pointless was fun in its own way at least for me. I recently went back and replayed it and yeah it’s trash but it’s fun trash for me. I’d never wish for anyone to play it but it’s nice. Only major problem I have with it is that the game requires you to have every single gem after you beat the 4th boss and then never requires you to have gems ever again
as a kid, I felt like it was smart to avoid these

This was my first exposure to Crash Bandicoot
Crash Twinsanity is usually talked about with kind words and it probably would have been even talked about even more if everything that was in the extra section that was supposed to be in the Game like how Nina would have another level you'd also I think you might have been able to play as Coco in a level and there would have been Underwater levels where you'd have to be in Mechabandicoot which would have been cool and there would have been two dimensions you'd go to and there seems like you'd have to fight the actual final boss (maybe I'm guessing) would have been the leader of those ant people who would be giant and has four arms
It's cause it has a large following of people that's very nostalgic for it because they grew up with it as their 1st or 2nd Crash game in the series. Most old school fans of the series gave up on Crash cause of Twinsanity's weird goofy directions with the series on top of it being super rushed and unpolished.

I had the Spyro orange game, and parts of it were pretty similar to the crash version I think. I remember the weird throwing bombs as Crash minigame, but in general it was not very memorable.

Joakim Otamaa Ngl, I actually like the style/track record of GBA graphics like in the Sonic Advance trilogy, Advance Wars series, the Crash Bandicoot GBA games, the Mario games for the GBA like Superstar Saga and the SMA quadrilogy (pentalogy had there been Super Mario Advance 5: Super Mario Bros.) and the Mega Man Zero series!

I like the GBA when I had one as a kid. But every time i look back at the games theyre all just hot garbage. So many of them tried to do the prerendered sprites, and they just look terrible. Also, i really cant come up with too many GBA games id go back and really play. Im sure there has to be some, but other than maybe some obvious mario games, ive got nothing.
Nitro Cart and Ntranced were awesome as a kid.

I enjoyed Purple as a kid... The mini-games confused me at first but then I just wanted to fight Ripto so I guess the mini-games didn't end up mattering to me lol
As for Titans, I'm actually playing it for the first time. I'm in the final world, but I'm using the Gameboy Player on my Gamecube. Wonder if the PC is giving you the framerate issues or the emulator? But its an ok game though, not something I'm gonna revisit anytime soon after I beat it

I personally don't think Crash Of The Titans is that bad on GBA. In my opinion it's great on all consoles.
what's up with crossovers and suits not knowing what to do with them? All they had to do was a platform game, why a collection of minigames?
It feels like that cartoon that had a shit ton of cartoon icons and had them wasted on a drug psa, but at least that had some kind of logic, this can't even be a licensing issue and i'm pretty sure coming up with minigames took more dev time than just refurbishing the games they already had

Spyro Orange has a smaller variety of unfun minigames, so I'd definitely say it's worse.

The 3d crash of the titans wasnt too bad, but yeah very different, mind over mutant was very boring. They got greg eagles as aku aku so not a complete waste of duology. Usually the only game post ctr that gets any form of positive praise is twinsanity ,nitro kart and i think tag team racing but not too sure on that last one. Wrath of cortex is meh just a ps2 crash 3 basically at least in terms of structure
