A 2004 game with 700+ cars 50 tracks... and animated texture for the eyes of the driver... this game is really the greatest of all time

These uploads just show how brilliant the PS2 was for it’s time.
An emulator is the most underrated piece of software around. To use an emulator and fine tune it to produce this footage is only possible from what was achieved back in the day, although we can up resolution and anti aliasing through the emulator but that’s my point a piece of hardware and software ahead of its day.
Amazing stuff, love it.
For me, it's a lesson that Gran Turismo 4 did not look nearly as good as I imagined it, now that I see it as it was and not how my mind interpreted blurry NTSC video from the television. I thought GTR 2 looked worse than Gran Turismo 4 back when it came out, but that turns out not to have been the case at all--not just in terms of resolution (1024x768 or higher when all the consoles were still SD) but in model, texture, and shader quality too.
Funny thing is as old as this car is this was actually the "road" back then x'D

Back when racing was a two-person sport, the driver, and the 'handyman', aka 'Bobby'. If there was a time the car would get stuck, or needed some kind of repairs and was too far from a stop, that's when Bobby went to work. For this race, all six participants needed a 'Bobby', lmfao

"In the early 1920's, due to the massive success of the ford model t being sold for 15 million units, a huge race was held at the Cathedral Rocks Trail II circuit as a form of celebration to that success. The race of course, uses ford model t. And the race goes for 5 minutes and 44 seconds. Due to the rally tires not being invented at the time, the racers have a huge problem dealing with rocky and uphill roads. But somehow, a contestant manage to deal with the track. And what's even crazier, is that his model t was faster than the other racer's model t. As a result, he comes out as the winner. It was one of the greatest and craziest race in the history of automobiles. I bet none of car companies nowadays will do cool things like this. After all, it was something you won't see everyday. For you, and me, and those peoples at the time."
