Do's and Don'ts of Zither Pin Winding

Seymour shows us how to wind a harpsichord string onto a zither-type tuning pin. We don't use zither pins in our current production, but many older harpsichords from the revival era do--including the iconic Zuckermann 5' model shown in this video. Great video! Can you share the distances that your string length measuring stick uses so others can create their own? And do you have a similar set of measurements that apply to tapered pins?
