My mom passed almost a year ago & I miss her even more. You will get through it. Ride the waves of grief, keep your people close & lean on them for support. Lori I am so sorry about your Dad. Both of my parents had hospice care and it was so wonderful that I became a hospice nurse myself. The last 10 years of my 46 year nursing career were spent working in a hospice house. Absolute best nursing position I ever had. I know your father and your entire family will receive excellent care, love and support. Hugs to you. ❤️

You and your family continue to be in my prayers. My Dad’s story sounds a lot like your Dad’s. Daddy was in too bad of health for chemo so they put him on immunotherapy, while this therapy attacks bad cells it also attacks the good. He had 2 infusions and he was in kidney failure. I don’t know what we would’ve done without hospice, they were there for us any time we called no matter the time of day or night. He got to spend his last few weeks at home. We were so lucky, my husband is a retired RN, so we went and spent 7 mths with them and it was so amazing for Daddy to have his own private nurse, that helped Mother and I so much leaning on him for the answers. I don’t cry every time I think of him now, I just remind myself how horrible his living was. Wish I could be there to give you a hug, I know you don’t know me but I understand how things are for you right now. To a happier thought, I really enjoyed your Thriftcast episode. Really looking forward to many more.

Much love to you, Lori. So sorry for your loss. We are similar in age, I am 52 and my parents have aged rapidly over the past year…it’s a hard reality to realize they won’t be with us much longer . On a happier note I do love the thriftcast format 😊
I’m so sorry that your dad is going through this. I’m sending positive thoughts and prayers to your family. My father in law was in hospice a year and half ago, those people that work there are amazing. They are real life angels. He had dementia and was pretty much kept sedated the entire time but his passing was so peaceful. We were with him when he passed and it was very comforting to be there with him. My experience with hospice was nothing but wonderful and I would highly recommend going due to the care their patients receive.

Lori I am so sorry you are dealing with your fathers illness. I too went through a cancer journey of my mothers a year ago. She made the decision at 89 to not do treatment for ovarian cancer. Hospice is an amazing group of caregivers who are on your team and will advocate for your dad and think of things you won’t even think of to help him in his journey, including getting supplies that are covered by Medicare. They take a lot of pressure off you and your family, until you don’t need them anymore. Use the time you have to ask your dad those things you’ve always wondered about. We had some casual family pictures taken with my mom and on good days we sat outside and just enjoyed the fresh air. Sending you positive energy.

I know you will miss your Dad so much. I lost my Dad when I was 20. He has been gone for 43 years and I still miss him. I’m praying for you to have comfort and peace. I love the thriftcast. Lori, I am so sorry for your loss! I too know the heartache and pain of losing a parent. I lost my mom a year and a half ago and its still hard for me on certain days. Now her husband, my step dad is fighting lung cancer. Sending so many prayers for you and your loved ones.
I am so sorry for your loss of your dad and glad you have had time to spend with him and your family my mom passed away in Jan 2017 I live in Alabama and they lived in Fl near Fort Myers, my dad passed away 5 months later, both from cancer it is the hardest thing to lose and say goodbye to your parents.I miss them everyday. I sometimes still write to my mom and dad everything I wanted to tell them about my kids, grandchildren tragedies etc it helped so much. I come from a very close Italian family as well . My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family .

Checking in from Orlando: Both bins locations are hectic. The second mentioned is I'd say 1/3 or 1/4 of the size as the Taft location BUT from my experience it's much less crowded and less overwhelming if you've never been before. There are groups who hoard the carts (I get a cart maybe 10% of the time 😅) so I recommend taking a sturdy reusable bag to take around with you (or finding one in a bin and using that!). The groups can be overwhelming because they work together and I've been pushed around by other women at the Taft location and that can be jarring 😅 versus at the other location it's less of a fight for the finds. Hope their trip is fun and they enjoy the sun! Love this style of video Lori! Excited for you continuing :) Keeping your Dad and your family in my thoughts. ❤
Oh Lori, I just started watching this video & as I read the comments, my worst fear for you is realized. I checked yesterday to see if you had posted a new video and since you had it, I was worried that something had happened with your father. I am so very sorry! Even when someone’s been ill & they pass away, it’s still doesn’t prepare us for the finality of their loss. I lost my father 25 years ago when I was 33 years old & while we expect to lose our parents, it doesn’t make it any easier when it happens. The fact that you are making this video so soon just shows me what a strong person you are. It took me months (actually a couple of years) to get my head on straight after losing my father. He was my best friend. Anyway, my love & prayers are going out to you & your family. ❤🙏❤️

I'm so sorry about your Dad... My dad had Stage 4 stomach cancer and passed in 2016. My sister passed on 1/6/23 (she had Stage 4 ovarian cancer and beat it a decade ago). I am so sorry about your dad. My mom passed away from cancer 3 years ago. Hospice was a wonderful service and the nurses were such wonderful people. I don’t know how we could’ve done it without them the last week of her life. Again, I am sorry.

@@LorisBostonFound awe, I love this & I know your father will visit you. I have assigned my father & my mom an “angel number”. My dad’s is 33 (it was our special number for many reasons) & my mom 11. I cannot tell you how often I see those numbers throughout my day I know it’s each of them when they appear because I will be thinking about them & then I will see their number. It’s little moments like that when I know they are still with me, they’re just vibrational now, as we all are, some of us are still on this side of the veil & some on the other side❤ Actually, I think your light dying was your father trying to get your attention 😉
I had a similar experience with oiselle. I didn’t know what it was , but I knew it was a quality piece. It sold quickly and I made a forty dollar profit. 🎉 Im so sorry about your Dad. Hugs to you.

Hi Lori I'm so very sorry to hear what you're going thru with your Dad. Cancer is the most evil thing there is. My brother died at only 38 from lung cancer. Because he was so young they opted to not remove the whole lung. Had they removed it he might have survived. Even the top hospitals don't have it all figured out. My prayers are with you and your family ❤❤

You made me think about what you said about the profit. We don't pay anything for the stuff,actually anything sold after 3 on Saturday, " the wonderes of the sales ", the money is given to us. It is very hard work,especially for my husband and 13 yr old grandson, I'm 51, but my injuries from so many years in construction have taken a toll on me, So I think iv got to figure something out on a price per item ,per hours worked and fuel..The furniture we sell on Craigslist or donate. If you have any advice please let me know. Again, you and your dad will be in my nightly prayers,. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY

I am so sorry for your loss of your dad and glad you have had time to spend with him and your family my mom passed away in Jan 2017 I live in Alabama and they lived in Fl near Fort Myers, my dad passed away 5 months later, both from cancer it is the hardest thing to lose and say goodbye to your parents.I miss them everyday. I sometimes still write to my mom and dad everything I wanted to tell them about my kids, grandchildren tragedies etc it helped so much. I come from a very close Italian family as well . My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family .

Checking in from Orlando: Both bins locations are hectic. The second mentioned is I'd say 1/3 or 1/4 of the size as the Taft location BUT from my experience it's much less crowded and less overwhelming if you've never been before. There are groups who hoard the carts (I get a cart maybe 10% of the time 😅) so I recommend taking a sturdy reusable bag to take around with you (or finding one in a bin and using that!). The groups can be overwhelming because they work together and I've been pushed around by other women at the Taft location and that can be jarring 😅 versus at the other location it's less of a fight for the finds. Hope their trip is fun and they enjoy the sun!

Oh Lori, I just started watching this video & as I read the comments, my worst fear for you is realized. I checked yesterday to see if you had posted a new video and since you had it, I was worried that something had happened with your father. I am so very sorry! Even when someone’s been ill & they pass away, it’s still doesn’t prepare us for the finality of their loss. I lost my father 25 years ago when I was 33 years old & while we expect to lose our parents, it doesn’t make it any easier when it happens. The fact that you are making this video so soon just shows me what a strong person you are. It took me months (actually a couple of years) to get my head on straight after losing my father. He was my best friend. Anyway, my love & prayers are going out to you & your family. ❤🙏❤️

I'm so sorry about your Dad... My dad had Stage 4 stomach cancer and passed in 2016. My sister passed on 1/6/23 (she had Stage 4 ovarian cancer and beat it a decade ago). I am so sorry about your dad. My mom passed away from cancer 3 years ago. Hospice was a wonderful service and the nurses were such wonderful people. I don’t know how we could’ve done it without them the last week of her life. Again, I am sorry.

I cannot tell you how often I see those numbers throughout my day I know it’s each of them when they appear because I will be thinking about them & then I will see their number. It’s little moments like that when I know they are still with me, they’re just vibrational now, as we all are, some of us are still on this side of the veil & some on the other side❤ Actually, I think your light dying was your father trying to get your attention 😉

Cancer is the most evil thing there is.
My brother died at only 38 from lung cancer. Because he was so young they opted to not remove the whole lung.
Had they removed it he might have survived.
Even the top hospitals don't have it all figured out.

You made me think about what you said about the profit. We don't pay anything for the stuff,actually anything sold after 3 on Saturday, " the wonderes of the sales ", the money is given to us. It is very hard work,especially for my husband and 13 yr old grandson, I'm 51, but my injuries from so many years in construction have taken a toll on me, So I think iv got to figure something out on a price per item ,per hours worked and fuel..The furniture we sell on Craigslist or donate. If you have any advice please let me know. Again, you and your dad will be in my nightly prayers,. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
