Why is it that a Basenji is unable to bark?
Because their larynx is extremely flat in comparison to other breeds, these dogs are unable to bark properly. As a result, they are unable to produce the powerful sound blast associated with a typical bark. They are not, however, quiet dogs. They make yodeling, howling, growling, and other noises.
