Hi, I have just moved from Australia to Finland and have begun the long journey of learning Finnish. I really like your videos so please keep them coming! Your emphasis on pronunciation is very helpful for someone like me who is still struggling with new vowels and sounds, cheers!
Hey! Thank you so much for the feedback :) I feel like I sometimes rush a bit, but it's good to hear you find the emphasis on the pronunciation helpful. It's definitely something I will keep doing! Good luck to you on your Finnish language learning journey! :D
Aww it's so nice to hear that you're excited haha xD I filmed a few vids yesterday and have a long train ride today so hopefully can get some progress on the next video ! :D Thank you so much for the support
Thanks for all the Finnish videos, they've been a really good resource coming from the insight of a native speaker. I was hoping maybe you could do a video demonstrating how Finns use "no niin" or just "niin" (like niin pain kuin)...I've seen it come up in a lot of ways
I'm so happy to see you back! smiled like an idiot as soon as saw your post [understood you dropped a video by your Facebook which apparently you uploaded the video here sooner than fb, that was surprising!] i mean thought i was just an hour late but it turns out i'm behind for at least 24 hours lol! Anyways, kiitos paljon for the new material! awesome and handy as always :D Hope everything is all right with you out there. Don't you dare to disappear out of the blue!! i get worried when you go dark entirely with no heads up. I'm sure some viewers can agree as well! ;) New room, new materials . . . , sounds prefect to me! keep it coming and take care ^_^
Aww that's so amazing to hear, it's nice to know people actually look forward to my videos. In my day to day life I kind of forget that people would even notice if I just stopped uploading haha xD Eveything is good now! Hectic summer overall and been flying back and forth between the UK and Finland sorting out my move again haha
@@KatChatsFinnish Don't underestimate yourself! you've got a fanbase around here ;) and speaking for myself, as a regular viewer and a human being, i care about your well-being off screen as well. So it would make me happy to know you're doing fine out there. So if you disappear for a long time without heads up, i might not be able to do much but i get worried and might overthink a little. :P
Apparently, this also applies for if you are a member of a certain community, be it a video game, fictional nation, or an association. For example: Minä olen Flairwarsialainen = I'm a Flairwarsian (denotes being a member of Flairwars, a community of rival color teams)
Actually, Welcome to my new room = Tervetuloa uuteen huoneeseeni Or I would say (puhekieli): Tervetuloa mun uutee huoneesee Sorry for being a grammar nazi :)
Hi! Mä oon argentiinalainen (just learned the puhekieli form here :) I'm so new! I have a question: I learned 20 = kaksikymmenta. What would be the difference with kakskyt? I can't find that form of 20. Kiitos!
@@KatChatsFinnish Yes! Thank you. Most places to learn by yourself online teach formal, written Finnish (there aren't any Finnish classes in my city :p) Do you have any recommendations to learn spoken Finnish?
Hmm I think iloinen is more momentary, so if you are happy to receive a postcard in the mail, or see your friends, happy that the sun is shining etc. I think onnellinen is more long-lasting and maybe a bit deeper. Like when you are happy about your life/health/your family etc. At least to me that's what I see as the main difference :)
Do you know why Finnish has two, let's say, versions? Why 'minä olen' and 'mä oon'? 'I am tired' in Finnish sounds really similar to Estonian (Ma olen väsinud). 😂
The first one is the one that's used in formal situations like the news or in writing. The second on is "spoken Finnish" so what's used in everyday speaking situations. I have a video on it called kirjakieli vs puhekieli (i think that's the title! ) :)
First comments from me.Miss your video my darling. However am doing my best to speak .The bad news is that all my friends around me are speaking English
Aw thank you! :) I guess you could always try to consume more Finnish language media or then ask your friends every once in a while to practice with you (if they speak Finnish), but good luck in any case! :D

To answer a bit of your questions: The first 7 the structure would be "Hän on ____" = He/She is____ 8+9: Tämä laatikko on painava(heavy)/kevyt (light) 10+11: Tämä vesi on kuuma(hot)/kylmä(cold)

Hi, welcome to my channel! :D
Kakskyt is the puhekieli form of kaksikymmentä. So they both mean 20. If I understood your question correctly? :)
@@KatChatsFinnish Yes! Thank you. Most places to learn by yourself online teach formal, written Finnish (there aren't any Finnish classes in my city :p) Do you have any recommendations to learn spoken Finnish?
What is actually the diffrence between iloinen and onnellinen ?

Like when you are happy about your life/health/your family etc. At least to me that's what I see as the main difference :)
Can you also say things like I am doing something using minä olen/ mä oon?
Sure, that's a great point!! Like "Mä oon kokkaamassa = I'm cooking, Mä oon juoksemassa = I'm running, Minä olen syömässä = I'm eating etc.
Isosisko in Russian means "and sausage" - "и сосиска"
Great
