Our 2024 conference opened with a welcome address from IUCN UK Peatland Programme Director, Emma Hinchliffe. This is followed by speakers Jim Fairlie, MSP for Perthshire South and Kinross-shire, Claudia Rowse, Deputy Director of Green Economy, and Grant Moir, Chief Executive of the Cairngorms National Park. This session sets the scene for the conference, looking at how far peatland restoration has advanced in recent years, highlighting some of the current challenges, and looking towards progess in the future.
