There was a find in an Italian cemetery of ancient gold coins in an urn. all minted in the image of ancient roman emperor, by the roman empire. The documentary was extremely interesting.
I used to go up to Frankfort for years, with my grandparents. In the early 90’s. And there was talk of a rail car under water. And that was a fishing waypoint at the time. If it’s true. That would be so amazing

I was told, the Michigan militia stold Confederate gold and there's tracks they used for the boxcars near railroads in the area that go with the story and they got busted in the lake and tried to ditch the gold? And over the years some has said to be found.. just letting ya know what I've heard from older guys at work, us being from Michigan

On this TV series it is changed to a deathbed confession of a lighthouse keeper who saw the boxcar pushed overboard. The show makes it sound like the boxcar was pushed overboard for revenge, when it appears boxcars were commonly pushed overboard to lighten the load during bad weather, to keep barges from foundering. I am starting to be suspicious of the narrative. Truth is better than fiction! Changing a story for dramatic affect is very disappointing and is causing this show and the History Channel to lose its credibility!

There were hard hat divers in the 1860s just not very available. Old British Admiral Naval training often spoke of dumping treasure over board in water deep enough to surface dive in (60 to 70 feet). This came from the 1600 and 1700 gold trade. Stuff an old cannon with treasure and plug it with wax. Drop overboard when the pursuer is closing in on your ship.
I think the first diver Mike went back took there gold and put bricks in the same place treasure hunting is very secretive they told someone they shouldn't have

#1. Those dimensions they measured are too big to be a box car. #2. Even if the gold was there it is U.S. government property. #3. Even if there was chests of CSA coins, still U.S. government property as all CSA assets where forfeited when General Lee surrendered.
