Nice one J. The thing about this concert, along with all their others, is that after each song 'reactors' can't believe what they are hearing, yet their level of performace after each song is epic. BTW so lucky to have seen them @ mannheim 2 Jul 1980
Hey it’s been quite awhile since you reacted to Led Zeppelin, I’m sure there’s still many great songs you’ve missed. I’m always looking for Led Zeppelin reactions, greatest band ever, & my favorite for about 50 years. Thank you for your reaction.
John Bonham’s amazing 15 minute drum solo, called Moby Dick live at Royal Albert Hall (1970), great example of why he’s the greatest. Bonham playing is often very prominent in Led Zeppelin songs, two great ones are Dazed & Confused especially the studio, & Achilles Last Stand live at Knebworth (1979). Among many others. I’ve watched all 4 live shows, each are great to watch, often different songs in each.
No the named the song for the black Labrador dog, that hung around the estate Headley Grange. The band lived wrote & recorded music there, using The Rolling Stones mobile recording studio. Several of their iconic songs were done there, including Bonham’s magnificent drumming for When The Levee Breaks. They couldn’t think of a name for the song, so the named it for the black Lab that kept them company.
They are magnificent...especially live!!

I think black dog is the old slang for gold digger.
