As someone who does employment law for a living, I feel like this whole 1099 independent contractor vs. employee situation is glossed over. There are very specific rules for an individual working as a 1099 and you cannot enforce a probationary period. Additionally, requiring people to wear a uniform, implementing a specific schedule…etc., is violating the rules regarding employment. As someone who does employment law for a living, I feel like this whole 1099 independent contractor vs. employee situation is glossed over. There are very specific rules for an individual working as a 1099 and you cannot enforce a probationary period. Additionally, requiring people to wear a uniform, implementing a specific schedule…etc., is violating the rules regarding employment.
