As a local I’d say where you parked is probably not the best spot as it blocks a gate that could get used by farmers and emergency vehicles. If you went up the hill a bit on the road you’d see a lay-by people park in. Binevenagh is beautiful though. Went hiking there earlier for the first time in awhile and I have to say the way I went was less travelled and my way back down was a gamble full of loose terrain and close calls. Very tedious but loved every minute of it! Definitely worth a visit form anyone whether you are a local or a tourist.
Thanks for your comment. I didn’t park at the gate I parked at the lay by, you can see that at the beginning of the video as I pass the wall where the river is on the bend. I don’t know who it was who parked at the gate at the end of the video but as you say, it is a bit irresponsible as emergency services may need access.
@@ColinM_TH-cam oh sorry, smart thinking. It is irresponsible but that is people for you. Hope you enjoyed your hike, it’s always a great day out! I was there for 6 hours hiking, doing photography and admiring the view with a friend. All I’d say for anyone planning on going is to wear appropriate footwear and bring clothing for cold and wet just incase as well as the necessities of water and snacks possibly even a picnic!

Yes, we enjoyed our hike, the weather & scenery were perfect!.
Great advice there on what to take & wear, always be prepared for the unexpected!!
