I'm gonna say it,,, because it's clearly true... This is what many cities used to look like and should all look like... but few do anymore. Respectable clean.. not insanely loud or gaudy or filled with bright unsightly signs and crap that totally screw up the look and feel of the place.. I like what I see... Few cities can compare to this... in their night life areas where young people hang out.. well done Aussies well done. looking good.

I love it when they go past a good hotbox with potato scallops,chips,sav in batter, burger, pie, crumbed chicken, hotdog,pizza slice, mini dim sim, spring roll, potato gems, veal and cheese etc. If you don't get lucky there's always a bag full of greasy food to look forward to.

Post apocalyptic is ridiculous, compared to NYC it's a convent.
Such a difference from when Bjelke-petersen ran the state. Getting to The Valley was a furtive, risky business, dodging the cops who would pull you over, search your car thoroughly for drugs, breath-test the driver and take everybody's name.
Any excuse for a ticket or no reason at all would see cars red-stickered, thus unable to be driven. Girls would be felt up as they were searched for drugs, even 15 year olds. Give the cops the slightest lip and say goodbye to your night out. Arrest, detention, roughing up.
it was a fear-driven, paranoid state. Thinking people, creative people, academics all fled.
I could monologue about the corruption stories but the relentless harassment of car-loads of young people who just wanted to enjoy a Friday night out is sufficient. Glad to see the fear is gone.
I went through that in the Valley many times, even harassed by the cops as we entered the leisure centre (pinball parlor). I was also collared for unlocking my own car, key in hand. I'm glad that ended.

I moved south, but I felt sorry for all the young ppl who got a criminal record. Back then, it was for life.

I dont see where the sin city come into it. The valley in Brisbane is fine. It is full of beautiful natural activities. It is perfectly normal and natural for our amazing women to talk around showing there bodies. Get over it and enjoy the natural life.
