LSU is seems like it’s going the way of Lincoln Riley teams. Good offense and no defense. They won’t be winning any big games with that Dline. They will be fun to watch but won’t be winning when it counts

But how are they going from one of the worst defenses in the SEC to better than average in one season? They don’t have that much talent and depth on defense to pull that off.
Just watch. They only to need to be 25-30% better. If they had been in the top 70 on D last year, they would have won the NC. No one could stop that offense and they should put up gaudy numbers again this year.
@@smd2169 you could be right. They have a top 5 (SEC) 2-deep roster top to bottom so they don’t lack in talent.
They have great coaches hired but it's a tall task. He's been tough on LSU he was saying if. And it was more about the offense being good again from my perspective
@@smd2169 Unless they were playing a TON of Freshman and true sophomore its VERY unrealistic to expect that much of a jump.

In today’s game, if you have a prolific offense, your defense needs to be just good enough to make a couple of key stops per game.

LSU run defense is going to decide how far they go. That DL was a sieve, and they've not added anyone to help change that. DBs will be much better, but that may not matter. As for the Offense, they are gonna score a ton of points.

Tim Brando has lost his damn mind! First of all, game #1 vs USC How is LSU going to stop USC’s offense? What you saw in the spring game was straight of vanilla. USC guaranteed will put up 55-65 points on LSU with ease. USC’s speed at receiver is nothing LSU’s secondary can handle. Their running back stable is straight up dangerous, and Miller Moss doesn’t make stupid mistakes. USC’s linebacking core and secondary is going to damn right furious. They are one-two players from being one of the top 10 defenses in the country mark my words. LSU is plain out going to get destroyed in this game. People who’ve been sleeping on USC and comparing them to last year are in for a big surprise. LSU will lose by 21 easily.

Well that was the worst thing I have ever seen from LSU defense.. last year… smh … and I’ve been watching LSU for 35++ years.. so we can only go up from that performance the college world saw…

The Tigers are in a dire situation at securing a starting DT, and they recently struck out on all 3 DT targets in the transfer portal. Gotta ask the question: does their NIL strategy need a comprehensive overhaul???

GTFOH with that lame line... LSU was ranked #6 in the preseason poll don't even try and pretend like LSU being capable of winning it all was so far outside of a realistic chance of occuring.
They will certainly have a much better chance this year considering they don't have to play Florida State. 😂
I have to disagree with him on this one. They lost a generational talent at QB and WR's and many people were picking them to go all the way last year with a better roster. I could be completely wrong but that's what's fun about all this, we will all find out this fall.
If memory serves the same thing was said about LSU going into the '07 season. For the FIRST time in college football history a team had QB and 2 WRs all go 1st round in same draft. That was the LSU '06 team. LSU had a better than OK season in '07. Tigers just pulled it off again for the SECOND time. It's only been done THREE times in history. We know if ANY team can do it it's LSU. History is on their side.

We just missed on our top three, transfer portal targets for defensive tackles, but I am still optimistic. I don't know why, but I am. Maybe, just our coaching can start to develop players on our DL.
I was wondering if maybe the coaches weren’t all that impressed with the spring transfers, maybe they didn’t recruit them that hard on purpose. Crazy how they all just visited then went on their way

That's true. That Heisman QB...would of won a Natty easily with a solid defense. It remains to be seen how improved they will be this year.

New OC Joe Sloan as the QB coach last year was the MAIN reason JD5 won the heisman. That bowl game Sloan called was just a glimpse into the future. LSUs defensive issues were about the Xs and Os not the jimmies and joes. EX Tigers just had 3 DTs drafted. LSU rush defense was one of the worst in the country in '23. That NEW staff is a major upgrade at all levels. Might turn out to be one of the best in the country.

Highly unlikely that LSU loses 3 home games this season. It’s only happened once in the 21st century (2008).
I don't see Lsu making it to the playoffs let alone win a national title and plus Brian Kelly can't win a big game in the postseason. Eventually LSU fans will get tired of Brian Kelly.
