Good catches from the different angle! I left after the BNSF yellowbonnet geep, so it looks like I didn't miss anything big, though I wish I got BNSF 5846's horn. I was definitely disappointed with the GEVO on the special train, and even more now knowing ATSF 315's RS5T! The train also left way too early when running SB, and some families were upset!

Great video, Shawn! BTW, I think the reason the eastbound Z had to hold was for MOW ahead. I heard them telling the DS that they would have to hold off crossings (Which they didn't do a great job at, lol). But later I noticed that UP had crews working at nearly all the crossings in Richmond, so that might've held off traffic. And you didn't miss much after you left. After the Z, the next train was the QEWWC which wasn't through until 5:30, and it was more than 2 hours before the next train, Amtrak, came through. Meanwhile, a KCS grain was being held west of Rosenberg.

I'm thinking MOW might have had something to do with the quiet on the UP. As to the BNSF, I don't know, other than that there just wasn't much out there that day.

Great catches with the F7A excursion, SD70ACE, SD70Ms, patched Southern Pacific AC4400CW, gray ACe, cab horn ATSF GP39-2, cool horns, and others! It's a shame that the BNSF SD70ACe, UP SD70M, or the gray SD70ACE didn't lead. But it especially sucks that 315 couldn't lead. Why in the hell did BNSF put that piece of GEVO shit on the excursion?! It's not like the Galveston Museum owns the GEVO! It's just a 3 car excursion that those F units could handle without the Gayvo

Well, it didn't actually turn around. The crew simply changed ends on the train and the BNSF unit on the rear end pulled the train back to Galveston.
Awesome catch with the Galveston Special. Even if 8358 led going southbound. I also wonder why 7927 stopped...
