It’s a good year for the natives. So far on our farm I’ve counted 9 nests of Goldfinches 3 Green finches. 1 Yellow hammer. And 2 Bull finches. Plus the usual sparrows and swallows. I scatter a lot of native flowers seeds all over the farm. O yes I have spotted one Jay but don’t know if it is a cock or hen. X fingers for the rest of the season for you.
I want to ask a curious question : Carnivorous birds feed their young with worm 🪱, meats (carrions), fish 🐟 🐟, etc, but what about seed / fruit eating birds ? Do these birds regurgitate the food into their chicks ?
