@@limitbreak2966 Well, the co-op mod is a little weird. You can see the other player, but you can’t interact with their world. I’m pretty sure the Hunters start off with stuff (could be wrong), including the monarch wings. Monarch Wings trigger Infected Crossroads. Therefore, the Hunters could have IC while Fire still had FC
My favorite (outside of "actually let's mess with him" I died XD) was probably "misses a jump". It was just so appropriate, and timed perfectly to the conversation, and completely unremarkable except for the context. It elevated the moment so much.
I really want to see a speedrun in the future where the sole goal is just to make them question reality No callouts, super weird routes, a single super precious lifeline Just 900% mindgames, YES
That would probably also be best with an extended timeframe say, 3 hours? (180 minutes) Otherwise, no time limit is going to lead to the speedrunner winning regardless. Edit: Hunter: Yeah so, we decided to use our lifeline Speedrunner: I'm in the Path of Pain Hunter: You're in the whAT NOW?
I would like a rule that when entering a boss arena, the hunters get the speedrunner's name tag, so when they're all cramped in a boss fight they don't know who to fight.
"But then it...I was only like ten minutes left on the timer." Realistically, that game was entirely yours. The only reason they even managed to cause trouble for you at Uumuu was because you chose to mess with them and reveal yourself to the one you passed by, rather than just taking care of Uumuu. It was pretty close, but only because you alerted them to your position; rather than waiting for them to use one of their three.
I feel like the goal is more just to have fun than it is to actually win. That’s not to say he isn’t trying, but he also wants to make it entertaining for everyone playing and the audience as well
@@fireb0rn Pretty honorable, actually. Isn't that the one who you mentioned was having lag issues earlier in the video? Also, they would've tried to intercept him at Uumuu anyway
Yeah, that rule limits cool plays since the hunters will immediately know where you are once the ability is announced. Plus it makes lifelines way less useful.
@@fireb0rn The best part of the previous videos for me was seeing you trying to hide your abilities from the hunters. It was so fucking cool to see you intentionally play with a disadvantage just to keep the mind games going, and also knowing when it was worth it to drop the act so you dont fall to far behind.
@@fireb0rn i think the best part of this video was when you announced you did herrah ^^ the real issue is, you had to occasionally help them a bit (like when redbert tried to acid-camp you and you went after him so he'd see you're past him). if you hadn't done that, this would've been boring the balance between "the hunters need to occasionally find you" and "the hunted should be able to hide as much as possible" is really hard to hit. for this one, especially bc it was basically 2v1 instead of 3v1 (not flaming zen, i don't know why his internet had issues), this would've been really boring without you helping the hunters i think one way to balance this would be more lifelines, but lifelines only giving away the area (crystal peak / crossroads etc) but yeah, at some point, there's the question of how much you wanna talk balance in a fun mod ^^
Really liked this one, the rule change of not letting the benches be nearby important boss rooms definitely made it so the hunters couldn’t block you at a boss. Also good call on the extra mask, that saved you a few times
"we would have been very surprised? Alright. He's doing something. With stuff" This was super entertaining! I love watching these hunter vids. Keep em coming!
i loved this round, i like how the hunters are actively hunting you down not just camping the whole time, the way LizzardLady chases and tries to keep you in her sight puts like a constant low pressure on, not overwhelming pressure. the whole part around 23:33 where LizzardLady and RedBert kept interrupting the crystal dash and the whole elevator thing was one of my favourite parts. Also the 26:26 part where you passed RedBert and went back to see him 'attempting' to camp was hilarious, I love how he was explaining what he's trying to do and all of a sudden be like "wait what" when he got a glimpse of you. The new rules are great and I'm glad everyone seems to have a great time. A few times when you just brush past them and they didn't realize it was so entertaining to watch, makes me freeze up, expecting them to notify the others about your location but it never came and i'd be like 'phew'. I'm really looking forward to more hunter runs Forgot to say the Menderbug bit was also such a pleasant surprise, loved it. i try not to keep using the word awesome but everything really is awesome XD You bet I'm going to rewatch this quite a few times like all your other hunter vs speedrunner vids
Thank you for continuing to upload these. This is the best Hollow Knight content, and it even got me into playing it. Game is great! Thank you Fireb0rn!
I've never watched a single thing relating to Hollow Knight my whole life until a few days ago when I saw your previous 1v4 video. Now I feel required to learn everything about the lore and game
Pretty sure the skins are locally applied, so they all look the same relative to the player. Red I think mentioned switching to Zote near the end, but still had a bow at the end shot.
Wow another one so soon! These are some of my favorite videos right now! I like how you keep tweaking the rules too, hopefully it gets to a point where it's really competitive.
lets try a twist on this, radiance ending but everyone starts with moth cloak and claw, then they race to both kill you and keep you from winning for 2 hours time limit
Let’s go I’m gonna guess you hopefully don’t get stuck on a dreamer and get spawn camped After watching I can safely say uumuu seems to be the hardest boss in the run for actually no reason
uumuu reminds me a lot of opponents in other games whose deal is to create hazards while you fight other enemies. or like how a lot of the time pantheon bosses are way harder than the original because their arena's been altered to make things difficult. uumuu reminds me of that. all its attacks are based in adding hazards to the arena, which would make fighting an additional opponent hard. esp. just with the way it forces or blocks movement a lot.
You also have no real agency on when to attack Uumuu - you're either waiting on Quirrel or a bomb jelly to show up, so this gives the hunters a lot of time to group up and attack while you're waiting.
These videos are so much fun, as I'm a fan of Dream's manhunts too and doing it in Hollow Knight is so amazing! Keep doing them, I really enjoy them :D
I guess the moral of the story is to do Monomon and Lurien first so that the hunters can only intercept him at beast’s den, which would hopefully be easier to deal with.
This ruleset seems a lot more fair for everyone involved. Hunters still have effective methods of halting progress in certain areas, and can't lose you quite as much, but you have plenty of options for messing with them and keeping the run fun to watch. This seems like a good ruleset to base future runs on, even if it continues to get minor tweaks.
It would be neat to see a team vs team race type game where each team has their own speedrunner and a couple hunters to target the enemy or help with skips. Not sure how it would function with unlocks if at all, but something like it might be interesting.
as soon as fire is like "actually, let's mess with him" i'm like goddamnit fire no you shouldn't have even made it past him take this opportunity and GO
26:27 God gamer moment, messing with your hunters, making them think you can just appear and get past them like a shadow (which he basically did), like a GOD gamer.
One thing you could do in these is go fight Mantis Lords after you get the claw, since none of the hunters would ever think you'd go down there. You could also fight them for another easy way into deepnest for later. Just a suggestion!
What I think would be a fun variation on this would be increase the time limit to 2 hours, but add five random bingo tasks to the Speedrunner side that are known to the Hunters but that aren't announced to them when they are acquired [edit: this is so the hunters aren't sure whether you've completed bingo or not, which makes the end game of the run less predictable]. That might help open the route up while balancing it with increased time pressure. It also makes the hunters more willing to use their hints. I would suggest making a 5 x 5 bingo board with one item per square requiring the completion of any five in a row in order to win. My partner and I do bingo races where we randomize which five from the following twenty five, but leaving it open ended by using the whole board would be better probably. Our 25 tasks [for reference, not ordered since we randomize]: Collect 4 Mask Shards Collect 3 Vessel Fragments Collect a Fragment of the Kingsoul Collect the Flukenest Collect the Hiveblood Give a Rancid Egg to Confessor Jiji Collect Isma's Tear Free 10 Grubs [our least favorite to get in the head-to-head, but fun to try routing] Collect Weaversong Collect Thorns of Agony Collect Glowing Womb Collect Baldur Shell Collect Deep Focus Collect Joni's Blessing Upgrade two spells Craft the Channeled Nail Collect the Monarch's Wings Collect Great Slash Collect Cyclone Slash Equip the Mark of Pride and Longnail Collect Howling Wraiths Collect the Shade Cloak Unlock the Stag's Nest Station Save Bretta from the Fungal Wastes Give a White Flower to Elderbug [this one would be a mega flex in a versus speedrun]

I only recently started playing hollow knight because a friend recommended it to me and then I got recommended some of your speed running and multiplayer videos. I'm glad to see that you're still making these videos. They are extremely entertaining.
This was brilliant! I loved it! I love watching you sneak and trick your way across the map while listening to them try and puzzle you out, and panicking whenever they realised what was happening XD. I think it's everyone's favourite part lol.
This was much funnier to watch I think this is a better set up then last time. The hunters last time felt much more Op. Still haven't watched the full through but I am enjoying it very much. You should try this set up with the hunters you played with last time too. I want to see you win against them lol.
I think this is probably a good place for balance. announcing when you get a major upgrade provides a immediate location and a peak into what you’re thinking about. I think the biggest thing us that the Hunters need to recognize that the game bottle necks at the end and so the life lines should be used to track you through the middle of the game. Once theres one dreamer left it’s obvious where you’re going to be going unless you take detours.
With each refinement this concept just keeps looking more and more fun. Loved that this ruleset kept the rate at which hunters where able to pile back in down to a somewhat more reasonable level so that fighting through a roadblock like Uumuu is more feasible and that there was a good mix of sneaky routing and needing to fight past hunters like with the wonderful shenanigans that went down in City. A fun bunch of hunters and a blast of a session to watch.
I rescued all grubs, killed herrah, got pale ore, basically my work in deepnest is done and I'll never go there ever again, let alone going without a torch.

Is it just me, or is red’s accent the most amazing thing to listen to

This was much funnier to watch I think this is a better set up then last time. The hunters last time felt much more Op. Still haven't watched the full through but I am enjoying it very much. You should try this set up with the hunters you played with last time too. I want to see you win against them lol.
Deep nest without lantern always blows my mind
I think this is probably a good place for balance. announcing when you get a major upgrade provides a immediate location and a peak into what you’re thinking about. I think the biggest thing us that the Hunters need to recognize that the game bottle necks at the end and so the life lines should be used to track you through the middle of the game. Once theres one dreamer left it’s obvious where you’re going to be going unless you take detours.
Hey Fire thanks for all the amazing content, these hunter vids are the bomb. My friend and I would love to try this, how could I do that?
Thank you Aydan. I have a video guide for the Online mod, you should check that out!
@@fireb0rn thanks a million! Can’t wait to play this
Of all of the hunter videos you've done so far, this one is my favorite. Idk why but everyone just seems to be having such a fun time :)
Are you... Are you flexing by picking up collectibles? I love it.
13:20 We just gonna ignore him falling off, and the animation freaking out there? Looks like the skin maker didn't account for those sprites. xD
I laughed hard at the animation
7:10 That is such a 5Head heal WOW, truly a godgamer moment, I didnt even know that this is an interaction
How about a race for the fastest or the first to finish?
Everyone is an enemy and can hinder other's progress. I dunno, just a thought
I rescued all grubs, killed herrah, got pale ore, basically my work in deepnest is done and I'll never go there ever again, let alone going without a torch.
I absolutely love the new rules and setup, more fair and more cool!!!
Still blows my mind every time i see you go through deepnest with no lantern. Respect
