    You've sure shipped a bunch of your parts to me for my Sportsman 120 PDL and every one of them has definitely upgraded the usability of my kayak! We've had a super windy spring and a hotter'n'hell summer so I haven't been out on it as much this year but that will change this fall. Take care Nick and as always, best of luck to you!

    I’ve had the 120 PDL for two years and absolutely love it. I use it both for offshore and Inshore. It’s best quality in my opinion is how stable it is. The PDL handles massive tides impressively but like Nick, it’s not the fastest and requires a lot of work. It’s the reason I installed a trolling motor. It’s perfect for lakes/rivers or conditions where you don’t have to drive fast or far.

      @@NavarreKayakFishing it handles extreme tides without an issue. My first kayak was a paddle Jackson bite. The 120pdl is 1000% easier to use. I may be expending more energy than I would in a salty or big water but the 120 pdl slices against the current.

    Good video Nick and great re review of the kayak🤝🏼. I did notice on my 106 PDL the water issue thing, about being to top heavy where the two front scupper holes are, and how that It will let in water. Also like you point out, If you get your body weight more to the rear of the kayak it helps with that water issue. So that was a awesome tip for the people. Well it's good to see you and your wife out enjoying the water on the yak's 🙂🍻. Until the next one buddy ✌🏼🙂.

    Hay nick I was wondering how different the water level is on the 120 vs the bigwater like around the drain plug and drive opening
    I just tested my buddy's new 132 and with the plugs out It was still dry and with the drive up it was just below the edges of the opening but not much very close to letting water in
    I noticed at least by pictures it looked like the drive box on the 132 is a lot deeper then the 120 so is the hull depth different or something maybe helping keep water out ?

    I have a 106 PDL. I live in the city in Boston and I am car topping so I thought that the shorter lighter boat would be better for me. I love the boat that I have, I do a lot of wildlife photography and camping out of the boat and the size has not been a problem. However, I go a long ways in that boat, sometimes 10 miles to reach my campsite which takes 3 hours and is pretty taxing. So I have just one question, is the 120 PDL faster than the 106 PDL and by how much?

    • @NavarreKayakFishing
      @NavarreKayakFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is faster but not enough to make a huge difference. The main difference is how it sits in the water and you will "push" less water. The 120 Salty PDL may be a smarter choice if you only plan to pedal and take photos. Its a very easy pedaling kayak.

      Randy Bruner I own a 106 PDL and I bought my wife a Brooklyn PK11. Both are roughly the same size. The Brooklyn sides are not as high/tall so you sit closer to the water. The seating area is lower too so you’ll sit lower in the kayak when compared to the Old Town. I felt like I was going to hit my knees into my face as I’m 6’-2” tall. It is lighter than the old town which is nice when loading on to the roof of my Ford Expedition. The pedal drive works fine and does what it’s supposed to do. But the gearing sucks. My wife has to pedal a lot more to keep up with my Old Town PDL and it is not as refined as the PDL. I also think it’s not as stable. I can really rock the Old Town side to side and it feels rock solid. The Brooklyn seems way more tipsy. Being able to lift the rudder out is a really nice feature on the Old Town. For a $1,000 less than my Old Town and my wife uses it a lot less than I use my Old Town. It’s a good buy for the casual user. For someone who really wants to go out and use a pedal kayak and fish a lot like I do. I 100% would tell you and anyone to buy the Old Town.

    Opps that is a stripe on you water shoes that I thought looked like traps. I still may try it with traps on new wider pedals.

      Do your feet slide off of the pedals?

      @@NavarreKayakFishing They do off the stock pedals. When I had my 2018 Predator PDL I switched out to a pair of mtn bike pedals ... those worked well without the traps. I will probably try that again before the traps. The Mtn Bike pedals were just a bit wider and a little 'grippier' that the stock pedals. Current kayak is 2022 BW 132 PDL.

    Would you use it on the great lakes?

      If I was going to fish the Great Lakes I would prefer the Bigwater. Faster and handles heavy chop better.
