@@RoKer13 Same! I'd never bought her stuff before but the colors and the fact I hadn't bought any makeup this year pushed me over the edge. I need this palette in colorful mattes but I actually liked the formula. (The flaky ones work much better with fingers though.)
Hi ladies Lisa Eldridge took 5 years to make and design the refillable lipstick packaging. It is 100% aluminium and can be completely recycled zero plastics in it - that’s impressive
@@cwynn1547she addressed this in her video. You wrap it up in foil so the size is about golf ball sized so it is properly processed at the recycling facility. It is good to know this is an issue so that we can take steps to ensure as much of the waste from our consumption which can be recycling is ultimately recycled.
btw just so people know, Ensley Reign has recently been caught liking anti-trans and anti-vax instagram posts (along with lying about their use of AI). a lot of influencers have stopped supporting them over this. just keep this in mind if you choose to buy from them
I don't know who or what an Ensley Reign is but I'm tired of this. Spend 2 seconds reading about what a world looked like w/smallpox, or how polio is still endemic in parts of Africa. Look at it. Also FYI bootlickers, there's no "good ones" in the world that's coming. No amount of collaboration is going to stop you or your daughter bleeding out during a miscarriage or seeing even more endemic SA 'cos half of the most powerful nation on earth's cabinet is made up of r-word-ists, including its president.

In all honesty: I have it and didn’t even see that 😂 you might be right now I look at it (also not thought about it as a nice packaging, didn’t even notice what was on it AT ALL haha). Do love the palette!
As a darker skinned woman, I love the Danessa Myricks palette and how the colours show up on me!! My parents got it for me for Christmas and I'm so so so excited to use it!!!!!
My favourite trend of 2024 was watching so many people twist themselves into knots going after Revolution or MCoBeauty while simultaneously saying ELF is completely different 'cos they change the packaging a little bit more.
MOB beauty was founded by a MAC chemist. It’s known for minimalist packaging, high quality pigments, and duping vintage MAC colors. Also, they collab with more alternative (grungy) MUAs. Really great products. I guess you could say they are the Alternative/Goth music version of MAC. They have a build your own palette approach and biodegradable packaging.
Not gonna lie…I’m really annoyed at whoever nominated or voted for the darker lip liner/lighter lipstick to be the “worst trend”. Thank you for mentioning that 1) it’s not a trend - it’s a technique that’s been around for ages and 2) it’s a GREAT technique for women with deeper skin to make lipstick look even better. Unless it’s not blended - I don’t understand why anyone would have an issue with it 🤨
i was thinking - the "trend" aspect of it kinda reminds me of the drag makeup "trend" a few years ago, when super matte bases and heavy powder became so popular. it started out in the drag and theater communities and had real, genuine purpose because under harsh spotlights and from a distance you NEED that heavy contrast and uber matte makeup for the audience to read it correctly. then it got warped and twisted by beauty influencers until it ultimately became one of the most hated trends, when in reality it just wasn't suited for the audience that made it mainstream and then overused and abused it, you know? but i feel like it's similar with the dark lip liner + nude lip trend, where it began as a way for people of deeper skin tones to wear colors that ordinarily wouldn't suit them, but now we have people of lighter skin tones doing the same thing and it just seems excessive to us. i'm not saying i dislike the trend, because i don't! but it feels very similar to the heavy/matte drag makeup of 2016 lol (didnt mean for the comment to be so long! sorry 😅)
as a proud owner of light work 6. I can vouch for these votes. It it truly the best pallet I own. It has leveled up my makeup in the easiest way. I'm always so surprised that Jeffree Star still has a brand. All the scandals. Weirdo behavior in general. Poor quality makeup. Like who is still buying this stuff? Me literally wearing the Danessa palette on my eyes right now. The pigment in that palette alone made me feel like how I did when I first started using makeup more in 2016. It made me realize I still love colorful eyeshadow, it's just so many palettes are BORING unless it's from an Indie brand lol Lethal did so good with the Avatar collection, I bought some stuff from that and Twilight and the quality doesn't compare.
I'm not that deep into the makeup world right now, but I did vote in some of the cathegories, and I apparently have the same opinion as most people lol. About KVD, I checked and they're still in store in the biggest beauty chain in my country (not Sephora) so I guess they still have a pretty big following!
Love that you brought this back!!!! For most overhyped, I agree with all and I think the Patrick Pa won because it was the most recent and expensive of the lot. 😅
Hard to compare the collabs because some are huge collections and others just a palette and highlighter. I actually loved every single one of them with Twilight being my least favorite. Great video. You did an AMAZING job with the nominees! They are all outstanding products! I’d happily participate next year!

Also, more global warming, levels of plastic in landfills and water pollition awareness (I hope at least).

It’s also just apart of the culture! That was a statement fashion moment in the 80’s/90’s. It’s fond memory to me.
