This was my first luxury Swiss watch, and I am still in love with it a month and a half later! I also am enjoying it more with the extra straps (leather and some NATO) though I originally purchased it with the exquisite SS bracelet. My next splurge will likely be the Datejust in either Mint Green or Black. I am willing to wait for my AD to get back to me, no rush.
I'm thinking of buying a Tudor Black Bay 58. Great review, don't forget to mention in the future at least anecdotally how accurate your individual watch is from the factory.
Great video & smart man! I have had the BB58 (blue) for a year and I agree. My fav. watch in my collection. Worth every penny, even at retail. I think when everyone asks their "future self" , "What do I want to be wearing on my wrist when I am much older", the Tudor will come out on top :-) This is also why (I think) smaller is better in general. I am 41 now, but I can totally see myself going smaller as I age. Tudor is just an amazing watch company and I think right now they are on fire. The new 54 looks amazing as well, and want one, LOL. Also, if they ever remake their 1969 - 1970 sub, WOW.. then its game over (that would instantly become the "new" Rolex sub!). I also love wearing the Tudor and not having to deal with "wearing a Rolex", if you know what I mean :-)
I’m 58 now and slowly selling off my larger watches the only large watch that will remain is my Panerai 0380. I also own the BB36 and wear it as my daily along with my BB58, actually truth be known If I kept just those 3 watches I would be happy oh yes plus a Gshock lol
I just purchased a used bb36 black dial to go with my Longines spirit Zulu time and c.ward pro 600. Waiting for it to come in. I debated the blue bay 58, but for sake of style versatility, i went with the bb36. If the bb36 and it doesn’t hit home, then I’ll sell it and the C ward for a bb58.
My local ad recently got dropped by Tudor so I am unable to get it that route anyways, the one I want is on Joma shop but I don’t know how long it will be up. The 36 is just beautiful! I believe David Schwartz has that one as well. I’m not sure about the 36 mm size as of yet for my wrist but what a stunner that one is, by time I’m ready to get one I may end up going with a Breitling super ocean lol, decisions decisions. Great highlight of a fantastic watch there!
I agree with you whole heartedly about Christopher ward the reason I am buying one, I think they could definitely charge more for what they are asking based on the quality of the product!
I would say the movement is superior to the SW200, with a better bridge, silicon hairspring, and increased power reserve. Although, i do have 3 different black bay models, including the navy 58, bbgmt, and bb steel.
I strongly disagree about your thoughts on nato straps. Although I prefer perlon, nylon in general is so nice on a watch. They are incredibly comfortable, durable, and a nice way to really personalize your timepiece.
I have both the sub date ceramic and the BB 58 as my dive watches and they are both beautiful. I love them the same.
Very nice!
i hope you do a review on ur bb36

You wont go wrong with a Christopher Ward

Fair enough! But Just not my thing, adds to much bulk to the watch.
What makes it not so great is the infuriating clasp. It makes the rigid part of the bracelet far too long when worn on smaller wrists.
Put it on an uncle bracelet!
