Ahh. Looking at the old clips from The Scene makes my heart heavy. I miss The Old Detroit. It was one of the most singinest, dancingist place in the United States. Where is my time machine I want to go back.
So Many Memories.....DETROIT AT ITS BEST...LINWOOD/Dexter
Where is that Time Machine? I would travel back in a heartbeat!
These brothers was AWESOME.....They could use that routine and DOMINATE any dance group of this era,
✌️
I loved the fact that they were not looking at each other during the routine..Thats professionalism at its finest!!And that's coming from one of Detroit Michigan's finest. The one and only Dr.Disco!
These are the most unique pop lockers I've ever seen.
They were cold blooded but apparently you didn't get out much.. Detroit was stacked with great dance groups
I would like to say with sad news our friend Jerry from the dominators passed away from the virus .god bless you Jerry you where husband father you where a good friend to us back in the day . God bless you Jerry May you Rest In Peace . The short one was my love back in the day we where engaged! Everyone else is doing good
That's sad to hear. Glad everyone else is doing well though.
One of the coldest routines ever!!
WOW!! This takes me waaay back!! Funny that I am moving back to my old stomping grounds in a few months! MI is where I grew up! Great Video.
Original innovative style.
They are on point.
The Scene was the show back in the Day along with MOJO and The Midnight Funk Association on the radio.
Detroit had some dancers
the name of the song was shook me all night long by slingshot. that routine took a lot of practice and it was very original choreographed
The good 'ol days...Detroit. Memories!!!
Just watched this video again and love more
We watched this one back in Jr High and next day in school trying to crew up for practice. Drew and Brooks middle school Detroit!
wow, They DID that!! I wonder where they are today? I pray they are all still alive and blessed
Theresa Tipton
Hey Theresa, yes Lady we are all still here and very BLESSED!!! Thanks for thinking of us and may GOD continue too Bless you. "THE WIZARD OF WAVES!!!" #TheDOMINATORS
Theresa Tipton I was engaged to Tyron the short one back in the day we are still good friends . They are all well but Jerry died from this group few days ago from the virus :he was a great person husband father ! May god rest his soul !
Hi the last one dancing we where engaged to be married In the 90s Tyrone .jerry died of the virus ! Everybody is married with kids or passed away rip Jerry !
@@bornwithvail4061 Tyrone is my father, we’re you truly engaged with him ???? I never heard him mention anything like that
Phenomenally UNIQUE 💯
They were so uniquely original ...they had a huge following performing on Boblo...
They was jamming and truly dominator
Super FLY 80s
What I love the most about these performances and dancers (minding that I got nothing against any generations came after this) is that regardless of what the tempo of the music they naturaly got into a charactor of choice and just danced their heart and specially you can see that choreogrophy wise might be not such and so, but yet smooth transitions only by feeling, slightly taking form to that what the end work can be at that certain moment. Though it can change any second 🙂but yet it happens to make its sense. Sad to know that Jerry passed. Only he knows where he is at. Whatever the case is Beautiful to watch this. Thanks
Sick...I remember them from State Fair when I was doing Billie Jean!
Woooooowwwwww!!!!!!
They was jamming the split was class a style
I’m loving the dance groups, ❤ I was on the The Scene in a dance contest early 80’s you had to vote @ Burger King. Would you happen to have the tape on that contest? 🙏🏽 @Nat Morris
Rap-A-Dance was the contest and we have most of the contestants. We do intend to post the contest but can not say when.
Where The JIT started, Detroit.
FOR 4min.4sec. MY EYES WERE POPPIN. TOTAL AMAZEMENT !!!!! O,o
I remember that long ride to New York with these kats in a van to audition for Beat Street the movie at The Roxy.
they didn't make the cut did they....lol
Do u remember the names of the guys in the group? I know someone who claims to be one of the dangers but none of these guys look like him
@@dawnj6618Mike, Jerry, Tyrone, and Domino
Bring back memories of talents show at Winterhater Middle school
+A Motley THAT SOMETHING ! I GREW UP OVER THERE WENT TO KEIDAN AND MOVED WHEN IT WAS TIME TO GO TO WINTERHALTER! MY COUSINS WENT THERE THO! LARON, MARIO AND RICHARD (TONY) PARNELL AND BURTONS! SMAILL WORLD!
oh crap thats my dad...mr brooks lol
lmaaaoaoo Mr. Brooks getting it!!!!
THAT WAS DOPE!!!!!!...THEY WHERE VERY ORIGINAL IN STYLE AND AND NOT JUST ANOTHER INSPIRED FUNKATEER
Funkateers? That's what happens when you don't get out much..
Real Detroit dancers never copied the Funkateers..We respected their style.. The Funkateers definitely put in work.. Only thing I didn't agree with about them was that their routines were too long and their solos were basic
Good dancer
jherri curls!
They couldn't find anything better to dance off.
So tight.
Yet i have to comment that putting this together and not only performing but DANCING it, is very difficult. Eye masks covering part of your sight is very distracting. (have done it myself a few times). Yet the tempo and the energy that lives in this performances is massive. Respect
So tight! Anybody remember the name of the song?
Sling shot all night long
heck yes brotherin
One is my brother in law
@rainslayer hahahaha geat
Electric Shock iykyk
