Testing the Taser vs. MMA, Wrestling, BJJ and Karate | Taser Pulse Drive Stun Capabilities

  • The TASER Pulse was built with civilian self-protection in mind. When the cartridges deploy it can immobilize attackers for up to 30 seconds. We have also found that even without a cartridge, it's drive stun capabilities can help buy time and create space in self defense.

      It seems to me from the test that keeping it standing, getting control of the arm, then taking your opp down worked the best. Whereas the guys who didn't remain standing more than likely got shocks the most.

      I think it sounds similar to the warning cry of many animals eg a snake. I would worry since, as far as I'm aware, I think the timing of the taser pulses is specifically set up to trigger something-or-another in human muscles, and I don't know if it would work properly on other animals. Would be kinda interested in an overview on that but obviously this isn't the channel for that, lol

    many years ago I used to work nightclubs as a side hustle. These things are bad news in my opinion. It's one thing to see a bunch of guys who are trained and know what they are doing playing around with a taser but I've seen untrained guys try to rely on these in a street fight and got really hurt because of it. Where they might have simply been able to get out of the situation by not being so confrontational or having a hand free might have helped defend themselves, the taser put them at a disadvantage.

  • @frydemwingz
    @frydemwingz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    that was mega entertaining to see. I actually have owned a taser pulse+ for about 2 years now and still never had to use it. I popped myself with it like you're doing here and yes, it hurt pretty bad. One thing anyone reading this should keep in mind is that if it's night time and you whoop this thing out, someone might think it's a gun, so if you're pulling it out in a situation that doesn't call for a gun, but someone thinks that's what you're doing, that could be bad. I got the clear plastic version of this for that purpose. When it's night and the safety is off, the rear light makes it glow green, so it's very obviously not a gun. I think the default color for these shouldnt be black, it should be yellow or clear.

    For what its worth I got a friend that works in security AND has a side gig doing crazy stunts in a Freak Show troop. So his pain tolerance is way high. Anyhow he regularly lets people hit him with stun guns , on bare skin on the chest , and does next to nothing. But he also knows its coming and and he isn't your normal dude. Flipside I am a housepainter and am around electricity a lot. Just regular old 110v wires that i sometimes contact by accident or make a mistake when taking down a lamp or such. It gets me every time , but its the surprise more than anything . My hand jerks away or I jump , stuff like that. So the element of surprise mixed with some serious voltage like these have is a big part of the appeal and application. Great video as usual. Always good to test these thing as much as able .

A few years ago I got into fight at the bar next to our gym and the guy whipped out a stun gun thinking that was gonna end the fight, he was absolutely making full contact and I could hear it going but I couldn't feel it through the adrenaline. Absolutely pummeled the guy and after it was all said and done and he's trying to plug his nose up I see him holding that stun gun giving it the most disgusted / disappointed look I've ever seen. He truly believed that it was gonna save him. I wish i had a picture of his expression it was priceless.

However, with multiple aggressors, you can drop one, yank the cartridge (assume you are now out of cartridges) and then go drive on the other aggressor. This was an awesome video depicting the effectiveness of the Taser Pulse.

    Nice. Been needing to see more of this since having more taser involved takedowns at my job recently. Drive stun has proven to be more effective with the ground control. More than the prongs. At least in my exp.

    Great example of how weapons and intent really change a fight. Mike's lucky none of them grabbed the "barrel" of that stun gun (behind the prongs) and twisted, since that would be a great way to get a broken finger.

  • @silverfireVRgaming

    I'm reminded of the "kicking a knife out of the hands" video here. If I'd been in that scenario with you guys, I'd have tried kicking it out of your hands with a crescent kick. Even if it failed and you retained the hold on it (which, as proven in the knife video, is not guaranteed), it could create a bigger opening to come in and take you down or try to land a couple strikes. Plus, in a real world fight situation, people would be wearing shoes. Shoes have rubber soles. Rubber insulates against electricity. ;)
    That said, good video. The intimidation factor alone is probably enough in most cases to stop a fight.

    It’s really hard to emulate real violence and rage. If you check me well during a spar I’m gonna smile and I’ll actually be happy for you and myself. But if someone hit me in life, you have to flip the switch in an instant because it’s life or death. This video is awesome because it gives a good baseline for how a normal individual might treat the situation, but if someone has truly resolved to harm or kill someone else, it’s difficult to emulate or train against that mindset. Thanks for the video

    While the stun gun is operating, you forgot that you have the feet to kick the groin, the person in defense is totally distracted to have both hands trying to stop the stunk gun and have no hands to protect a sudden attach on the groin by the feet.
