    Great review! Just ordered mine. Was on the fence between the VL60 and VL74. Decided to go with the bigger one after watching this video.

      Great choice! This fridge is a beast. I like how it's wider and longer than the VL45, not taller like the VL60, I think the VL60 is too deep. I haven't had any issues with mine, you'll love it :)

    I ordered it can’t wait to try it. I’m a truck driver and our industry has tiny fridges for $1,300. This is a great price point for the size.

    I got two of them they work great with my solar batteries but the bad thing about the fridge is the shipping they ALWAYS come in dented.

    • @Jasonoid

      Wow, two of these would be sick! With a fridge this big.... Yeah shipping is a little rough. I got a dented corner on mine too!

    it uses around 70watts at max. to run de compressor (5.5amps/max) and they have a 15amp fuse, I know that the compressor uses more than 70watts when it starts up but isn't it a bit overkill? did you see what was the peak power consumption by any chance? thanks

    • @Jasonoid
      @Jasonoid  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The 15 amp is "overkill" the compressor may pull a little surge but it will never get up to 15 amps consistently. Average power in this model is really good because it's so insulated. The compressor doesn't run much. Put this on ECO mode and it will keep the food inside at temp. I put out a camping video recently where my father in law talks about his experience with the VL74.

    would you recommend a 750 bluetti or a 1000+ bluetti? we are a family of 6 so we will have a lot of stuff in it.....

    • @Jasonoid
      @Jasonoid  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For this fridge the bigger the battery the better just in case the sun isn't shining and you cant charge it up via solar. You'll want the extra battery storage. The Bluetti EB70 should be plenty of power and I have a discount code for that battery in my review video that might drop it below Amazon.com prices...

    I have a 2002 F350 4 door pickup truck with a truck camper I would like to have a auxiliary frig which would be set up in the back seat area (with seat removed) would this fit through one of the back doors?

    • @Jasonoid
      @Jasonoid  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think it would, they have the exact sizing specs on their website for the fridge

  • @justintate8723
    @justintate8723 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks Jason! Do you know how long a Jackery 500 would run the vl74?

    • @Jasonoid
      @Jasonoid  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the ambient temp outside the fridge, and the setpoint of the inside. It will run a decent amount of time if you have it set to 34 degrees. Check out the power usage section of the video at 13 minutes and do the math for 500wh. It pulls 15wh per hour at 70f.

    Hi,I got a question;How do I secure the fridge to the floor of a van?...Does it comes with some anchors or that kind of thing?O do I have to built a base for it?

    • @Jasonoid
      @Jasonoid  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In my opinion the easiest way would be to strap it down using straps on the metal handles on the side. Then you can still open the lid without untying any straps. ICECO also makes a sliding drawer you can install.

    A five year warranty on a compressor is fine but is there a repair location in the United states?

    • @Jasonoid
      @Jasonoid  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Their business is located right outside of Disneyland in California, local in the USA.

      @@Jasonoid that's great but do they repair the units right there in California?

    • @Jasonoid
      @Jasonoid  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@bernadettepeterson8291 I'm guessing they would have the ability to do that. I haven't had any issues with mine so I can't say the repair process works or not. These VL fridges are built like tanks.

      @@Jasonoid thank you for your response.. I checked out the 1-800 numbers and could not get to a human to even ask the question that I have so with that being said I feel it may be a little sketchy for repairs.

    • @Jasonoid
      @Jasonoid  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@bernadettepeterson8291 don't ever expect any cheaper company to even have a number to call. Iceco is the middle ground between those cheapo fridges and the way expensive models. They are built extremely well for the price but you may not get the same phone support as Engel or Dometic. In my experience their phone number is mostly a message box and they will call you back if you provide callback details.

    • @Jasonoid
      @Jasonoid  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Iceco just came out with a small battery. It doesn't give amazing run times, it's mostly design for 5 to 6 hours of runtime. An external power station would be your best bet. The Bluetti EB55 or EB70 would work really well.
