Hello SirJi..today I bought the 8mm plug,but it was too small,then tried the 9mm plug..it was purfect fit..got 3 liters of Castrol 85w140 GL5 oil(one liter rs 353)and filled 2.2 liters via hose and funnel with gravity like you filled gear oil.. Remaining 800 ml I plan to use it as a motorbike chain lubricant and at my door,window and gate hinges. My Transaxle oil was worse compared to yours Sir.Complete Satisfaction on filling it myself with help of my Dad.Thankyou SirJi.
Suggest me when I should change my gear oil differential oil my next service is on 1.78 lack’s kms present odo is 1.75 kms suggest me a good grade oil for all and note (engine oil using was shell 5w40)
I have a Tata Safari dicor, I do the servicing myself. I changed my gear box oil, unfortunately I didn’t get 75W90 GL4 hence I used Spirax 80W90 GL4. There is an issue of hard 2nd gear shift when the vehicle is cold but as it heats up it becomes ok. I don’t think the slight difference in grade should create this sort of problem. Please advise
Hi i have read about several problems like this after using shell spirax..in owners manual if u see,they have advised 75w90 but also if u see ,clearly they have mention the use of friction modifier along with gear oil(friction modifier number given in manual or u can download safari dicor owners manual and see about the same from net.Either u can add friction modifier or use fully synthetic gear oil(sk zic has a 2.5 liter fully synth gear oil for rs 850 ,motul and castrol fully synth gear oil rs 800-1200 rs for one liter and they are expensive.some customers used fully synth oil and felt smoother gear shift,some replaced gear oil from authorised service center and the 2nd gear problem vanished.Also try underbody water wash followed by lubrication of the lower gear joints(watch diyurneeds video on hard gear shift where Sir will explain and show which points to lubricate).

Bhai, The Safari Dicor Manual talks of two places for oil changes to Axle, The Front and The Rear axles. I guess you showed here the rear part and i am guessing, the front one is the other end of this axle rod. If you changed the oil for that front portion can you upload a video of the same? Or can you suggest very quickly here how to change it, and is that needed? Sir , if you have a 4x4 then you need to change the oil on both ends , but as i have a 4x2 then only rear needs to be done , the square drive you need is just of the size of half inch square drive

Friction modifier is needed in those diffrential , where limited slip differential is available. Not in normal diffretial. And sir 1/2 inch socket driver fits directly onto the plug in my vehicle , I discovered it later . 😅😅😅
Sir the owners manual mentions fromt differential oil1.2 liters and rear is 2.2 liters.Tranafercase oil in 4x4 .so do iu have to also put 1.2 liter shell spirax ar front differential

In my 3 litre dicor safari, differential by dana, only 1.8~1.9 litres went in. Is this fine ? I saw that the oil was coming out from the filler plug. That's when I stopped. But I'm sure not even 2 litres went in.

Hey man, I'm taking my safari dicor '11 for a 5k km roadtrip. I've never driven the safari so long. I'm very nervous about a breakdown. What all do you recommend I should check and get serviced before the trip? Should I change the axle oil (there's no leaks)?
Sir , firstly check the engine oil level it should be close to top and carry 1ltr along ( just in case it requires a top-up mid way ) , if the service interval is close and less than 5k kms away then get it serviced 2. Check the levels of power steering fluid and it should not be dark black in colour 3. If you have never changed transmission oil then its the right time to change ( 2.2 Ltrs of 75w90 ) 4. check the condition of tyres , get it aligned and wheel balanced as well . 5. Check the condition and width of brake pads and rotors , check and clean the rear brake shoes as well 6. Check the condition of brake fluid and inspect for any leakages , and check the tightness of banjo bolts on calipers . 7. Fill up the windshield washer fluid and inspect the wipers , wash the front of the vehicle well ( radiator , condenser and intercooler ) 8. Last check the tyre pressure in all the tyres including spare wheel . It will be more than enough

Sir , for transmission 75w90 is good But for front and rear differential requires 85w140 is the right choice , valvoline has the product in their range , you can try some offline shops for a availablity . Now about friction modifier , if you have a LSD then friction modifier helps the LSD to works efficiently , If you can't get hold of the friction modifier then you can go without it , it won't have much effect , untill you are in serious off-roading . Talking of snow , please make sure that you have tyres which are designed for snow , if not then use tyre chains . Be safe 👍

Sir don't buy them , you can rent them with security deposit , every Mountain region has multiple shops which rents show chains , and other accessories which are needed for that weather , try searching it online , wherever you are planning to go . When you will change differential oil , try to go for synthetic, as a lot of synthetic oils have an additive package , so you may not need a friction modifier seperately .

@@033mohammadumarfarooqueai9 Hi Sir,i am a follower of DIYURNEEDS Sirji..removing Tata Safaris injectors should only be done at authorised workshop as it will be very difficult to remove and u need special tools for it.Moreover if u try to remove injector,u can easily damage it,and Tata safaris injectors are very very costly..Authorised workshop offer Injector removal ceaning,and reconditioning for rs 10-15k..If you dont want to do that ,u can purchase liqui moly diesel additive(one bottle in 65liters of diesel or half bottle for half tank)..one bottle only lasts for 2000km and costs 350-400 ruppes(200-300ml i guess)..U can use this 4-5 times (4-5 bottles for 10-12,000km,use only one bottle for one full tank for 2000km or half bottle half tank for 1000 km drive.Only after finishing 1000km u can add the remaing half bottle of diesel additive and fill half tank diesel.Suppose u put half tank diesel with half bottle(note the kms when u put additive),suppose after 350-400 kms u r diesel is low,just fill diesel,dont add additive.Only add another half bottle addtive once after the car has run for 1000km with previous half bottle additive or 2000km with full bottle additive.So for every 2000km if u keep adding addtitve and u do that 5-6 times for 10-12k kms,u r injectors and fuel lines will be more than 50% clean.Also clean Air filter+Maf sensor(See YourDIYneeds Sirjis video on maf sensor cleaning).Put fully synthetic mobil super 3000 5w40 (7.5 liters) rs 3200(amazon) after oil flush and changing old oil.And use diesel addtitive and u r problem can be solved to a great extent.
Also kindly see if the turbo hoses or other hoses,vaccume hoses and connections are not loose or damaged.EGR cleaning also will improve throttle problems(authorised workshop egr cleaing cost is rs 4000)

Sir friction modifier is used for LSD
As my vehicle doesn't have a LSD , its a open diff , so thats the reason i have not used friction modifier

@@033mohammadumarfarooqueai9 Hi Sir,i am a follower of DIYURNEEDS Sirji..removing Tata Safaris injectors should only be done at authorised workshop as it will be very difficult to remove and u need special tools for it.Moreover if u try to remove injector,u can easily damage it,and Tata safaris injectors are very very costly..Authorised workshop offer Injector removal ceaning,and reconditioning for rs 10-15k..If you dont want to do that ,u can purchase liqui moly diesel additive(one bottle in 65liters of diesel or half bottle for half tank)..one bottle only lasts for 2000km and costs 350-400 ruppes(200-300ml i guess)..U can use this 4-5 times (4-5 bottles for 10-12,000km,use only one bottle for one full tank for 2000km or half bottle half tank for 1000 km drive.Only after finishing 1000km u can add the remaing half bottle of diesel additive and fill half tank diesel.Suppose u put half tank diesel with half bottle(note the kms when u put additive),suppose after 350-400 kms u r diesel is low,just fill diesel,dont add additive.Only add another half bottle addtive once after the car has run for 1000km with previous half bottle additive or 2000km with full bottle additive.So for every 2000km if u keep adding addtitve and u do that 5-6 times for 10-12k kms,u r injectors and fuel lines will be more than 50% clean.Also clean Air filter+Maf sensor(See YourDIYneeds Sirjis video on maf sensor cleaning).Put fully synthetic mobil super 3000 5w40 (7.5 liters) rs 3200(amazon) after oil flush and changing old oil.And use diesel addtitive and u r problem can be solved to a great extent.
Also kindly see if the turbo hoses or other hoses,vaccume hoses and connections are not loose or damaged.EGR cleaning also will improve throttle problems(authorised workshop egr cleaing cost is rs 4000)
