Alex mercer prototype. absolute savage
This!!!!
hell yeah
First thing I thought about
Such a great game! Was the first 2nd game I had for 360 right after halo 3
me in the sims 3 breaking up families to marry the father and steal their money then proceeding to drown him on a pool to keep all of it for myself
modern women are speedrunning this irl
Right 😂
@50shadesofgday64 stop it 😂
@@50shadesofgday64 found the incel!
Way to raise that red flag. Yikes!
Shadow of the Colossus, for me. Taking down the majestic creatures for a selfish objective is heartbreaking.
"the things I do for love"
Yup, he ruins the world "for love"
I hope that one day you understand!
Isn´t it what all us humans do?
You are not evil is shadow of the colossus. You were duped. Did you even play the game?
You talked about Far Cry 3, but from my point of view Far Cry 4 is also a good example. When you think that doesn’t matter who between the rebellion leaders you choose, there will be a lot of bloodshed, you find out that your father was a merciless rebel too, and you end up not laying down your mother’s ashes, which was the whole point of you going there in the first place. To think that siding with Pagan was the best decision… it really is something
I was thinking 5 is probably the worst... you literally fail to stop a nuclear bomb from detonating. Lol. Even worse, it spawned New Dawn.
to me, Far Cry 3 is a reflection of masculinity and in some ways, boredom, what with Jason being shown through his hallucinations as being disconnected from his peers even before the game (he skips his little brothers flight graduation or something, Grant mentions that he is a natural with a firearm, etc) and how he went further down the rabbit hole (the wonderland references are so in your face lol). Far Cry 4 is a reflection on i think is most easily described as Western involvement in conflicts we have no business being in. Willis shows up and talks about how the CIA funded both Mohan's Golden Path and Pagan's government, how they played Mohan and your mom like an asset in the conflict, and how ultimately if they keep their involvement secret but firm they can benefit from virtually any outcome of the civil war. You aren't necessarily the villain in 4, just yet another pawn in Willis'/the CIA's game--it makes total sense that the "best" ending is just to wait for Pagan at the beginning, because not only do you accomplish your own objective, you also uphold possibly the best outcome for the average citizen in Kyrat, AND you don't let yourself get used by shady people to make things worse.
Predator: *Pulls out a dude's spine for his collection*
Jake: "man, this guys a real jerk."
Fallout 3 deserved a mention here. Even though you can be an evil character in any Fallout game, the fact that you can nuke the entire town of Megaton for a few caps is truly something else
Nobody likes Fallout 3 get out of here 😂🤣
@@mauricio2915 my guy what are you talking about ☠☠☠
Fallout 3 has zero consequences for being evil. Your dad just says "bruh" and that's it. At least in Interplay's Fallout and Obsidian's New Vegas you can be evil and people in the game actually respond to it. Bethesda has always been afraid of actual evil options.
@@geordiejones5618 huh? when you talk with characters and npcs they will say something about megaton being nuked.
@@mauricio2915almost everyone likes fallout 3, friend
I really love the fact you guys still cover older games and talk about games that deserve more spotlight and love such as Spec Ops. Really hope they remaster/remake that game for newer consoles
They include spec off the line so much into their videos they could have a top 10 videos where they talk about spec ops the line... Plus bonuses entries...
Because Triple A$$ games suck. Making you pay to complete the funding of the game is terrible.
@@3rdWorldGamer it's a good game tho. The entire series is underrated. Also when most people talk about the Line they talk about how game positions itself "hOw MaNy AmErIcAnS yOu KiLlEd" (as if killing Arabs is somehow more acceptable) but not how it actually plays, which is pretty cool - there's a lot of environmental stuff and physics over the top fatalities and vaulting dropkicks. It's a great third person shooter ESPECIALLY if you enjoy violent games ala Doom or Postal.
@@KasumiRINA yup... I know a lot about the game. Thing is they include it so much into their videos one can't avoid the eye roll. I got it, it's an obscure game but can they maybe start including some new obscure ones instead of the same one on a weekly basis?
@@KasumiRINAMorally, it is more acceptable. Killing your own also makes you a Traitor in addition to a Murderer. Jeffrey Dahmer killed and ate people. He himself was murdered in prison. Both acts at face value are murder and unacceptable...but you can kinda see where the guy who killed Dahmer was coming from...
Overlord has also been described as "Evil Pikmin." One of my favorites!
First thing I thought when I saw it.
Sadly there's no overlord 3
@@vivekkparashar6369 Codemasters is defunct, I'm not sure who holds the IP now.
looks just as repetitive too…
@@jordanjoestar76 no , overlord series is pretty good...
Specially the humor and types of minions you can use ...then there's mistresses you can woo , or kidnap lol
Man, I'm happy that Michael Mando's career has legit soared since Far Cry 3. He was unbelievably good as Vaas.
No one talks about the Kane and lynch 1 heist multiplayer being nearly a decade ahead of GTA5.
👍
Didn't the Kane and Lynch 2 multiplayer end up in you fighting your teammates?
Been following gameranx for awhile now and honestly they have become my favorite TH-camrs literally watch their video everyday thank you Jake And the the Bird Falcon lol.
I also like the channel.
Dude I look forward to these videos every day and have for many years. Pizzas on me! Because video games.
What, no Alex Mercer from Prototype?
He used bodies as a surf board. 😂
Oof closed casket it is for the surfboards
@@The.Nasty. nope he eats him afterwards
Gameranx views using human beings as surfboards as a grey area
They have mentioned Prototype in 5 different videos. They decided to not this time.
And spiderman from web of shadows too lmao
Hatred. It’s just mindless slaughter.
Friday The 13th. Predator Concrete Jungle, Prototype and depending on how you look at it…Bioshock.
Lemmings always made me feel like the biggest asshole as a child. Definitely my first vicarious game 😂
I love that game!!!!!!!!!! Nice reference!!!! OLD SCHOOL!!!!!
It’s really cool to see overlord mentioned these days. I loved that game back on the PS3. I wish it got more attention.
Postal. First game you're just a shooter erasing American suburbia, but second makes violent options MOSTLY optional, like to avoid standing in extremely slow line. It's a classic! There's fourth game now haven't played it yet.
underrated series.
Plus: Gary Coleman calling you a bitch. Unless that was a mod, or Postal 2. It's been forever since I played them
I could only think of the GTA series & Bully from your video title prompt. However, I instead got a surprisingly diverse & interesting selection! Thanks!
Dungeon Keeper was and still is my jam. I was absolutely devastated when they made it into mobile garbage. EA did the series a huge disservice.
An awesome spiritual successor is War for the Overworld. It's a pretty solid experience that I wish got more mainstream attention.
You guys played just the dungeons games?
@@agricoper Yup, those are also solid choices. I love them a bunch too. The narration style is a bit different from Dungeon Keeper and WftO, but it is lots of fun.
Dungeons series are also pretty much same - spiritual successor
I still play through the OG Dungeon Keeper campaign annually. It's such a great game and with DK FX it still holds up extremely well. Agreed though, wish EA didn't taint and bury it. Bullfrog were the kings back in the day.
You should do a top 10 list of old games that aged extremely well.
👍
"Can't do it in real life..."
Ted bundy: hold my beer
Should’ve put Hatred at number 1
That one is honestly insane
Part 2 maybe.
I didn't know i was the bad guy in Spec Ops until the end, I played it again to make sure I understood I was the bad guy and every time afterwards I played on Fubar because it's just a damn good game with an awesome story and gameplay. Still fun to visit that Spec Ops the line even today
I'm missing the game: It Takes Two - Killing the elephant doll, I'm still traumatized.
Dude my friend and I played that and we were just like "noooooooo"
Overlord 2 was such a fun game wish we got a sequel

Overlord: Fellowship of Evil is a fantasy action role-playing game developed and published by Codemasters. It is a spin-off of the Overlord series and was released on October 20, 2015 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
I guess not techinically a mian line gamr
There was an awesome prequel, but it was made for the Wii U. A mediocre spin-off for the DS, and a PC spin-off that really isn't worth the money. Raising Hell (the first game's DLC) was the best of the bunch. There IS DLC for Overlord 2, but it's console only.
Overlord 2 got really tedious with the legions. Ok, time to stop having fun and find that Centurion.
Gameranx is goated for having these types of lists where niche cult classics or older forgotten gems can be shown and get some shine. I put so many hours into Plague Inc. on older phones.
If you're wanting an updated version of Dungeon Keeper, check out War For The Overworld. I believe it was created by some of the same people who developed Dungeon Keeper
Postal games: "Am I a joke to you??!" 😂 Honorable mentions: Hotline Miami, Hatred, GTA (well of course), Carmaggedon, that CoD MW2 mission at the airport, The Punisher
"You should try out and experience Spec Ops the Line by yourself" So what you're saying is: People should sail the high seas of piracy to experience it because it isn't being sold anymore?
you could try to find a hard copy but yeah sadly its delisted on all legitimate sites
🤫 can't make it seem like they are telling ppl to go sailing.
They can't say yes. But I can say YES!!!
Wouldn't that be considered abandonware at that point?
Why did they delist it? Such a great game!
Special ops the line still gave me ptsd.
Honestly, I couldn't get through it
Such a great game. Would love a sequel, but sadly will never happen.
I appreciate that you guys even mentioned, Black and White.
That was such a cool idea of a game and I've always quietly waited for a new one.
It would be a lot of fun
For me, Transformers Fall of Cybertron makes me feel like the ultimate villain. Playing as Megatron or Bruticus often involves you just decimating the Autobots and it feels so damn good.
I totally forgot about that gem!!
The Sims series. Who hasn't drowned a Sims Citizen in the pool or built a room around them with no food, toilet, or way out?
In all these other games, you play as a terrible person. In Plague Inc, you ARE the terrible person.
Nah man.
Iceland and G r e e n l a n d.
Damn hippies get like 5 people to survive and you L O S E?!?!?
For Dungeon keeper 1 & 2 Loved those games you should check out War For The Overworld it's pretty much a faithful remake which also has the same narrator from Dungeon Keeper 2 and should work on more modern systems.
Rollercoaster Tycoon and/or Sim City probably deserve honorable mention at least for the fact you can utterly torture the people in those worlds if you so choose.
I keep waiting for a mention of Far Cry Instincts. I loved that game and was so unique at the time.
I might get some hate but what about far cry blood dragon😂 i actually kinda liked that game.
@@bobjackson5525 I dont think you'll get any hate for that, that's literally the best Far Cry game of all time lol
@@bobjackson5525Feels like everyone universally had a fun time with that one.
Were u villain in that tho?
@@bobjackson5525 literally no one hates on blood dragon lmao, its probably the most universally liked one.
The kagero/deception/trapt series comes to mind
Sure you could let the various people limp away once you've mangled them a bit.
Odds are though you'll off them in the most over the top way possible though.
Some of the victims are horrible people, sure, some are just randoms that got lost
Hell yeah! I brought up the Deception games as well!
I remember playing the Overlord demos but never played the full games. Very infesting. Thanks for the video.
Specs Ops The Line is a must to play for all gamers. That game is just GOATED
It´s a shame i can´t buy it
@@kenshinhimura6280 Don't worry bro piracy's got your back 😉.If they can't preserve a game we can
Do you feel like a hero yet.
Still gives me creeps
13:41 the Dungeons series is kind of the spiritual sequel of Dungeon Keeper. Dungeons 3 in particular is great.
Have you tried _War for the Overworld_ ?
Not including any of the postal games is a crime.
Haha, I totally lost it when I heard Evil Genius. Fun fact, my brother was the lead artist and designed the box art while he worked at elixir studios in the uk. That's basically his art style and he has other works in the 2000AD / Dredd universe. 😅😅😅
yea sure buddy
I think it would be fun to do a video showing how many times Spec Ops: The Line has been showcased in Gameranx videos! It has to be in the double digits now...between story line, content, gameplay, and narrative.
They would start to do one, then it would somehow turn into a Metal Gear love fest.
"10 Games We Mentioned The Most"
Infamous 1 and 2 will forever be my favorite games
This number 10.. dude, I remember back in the day, I was a teenager and this man, a friend of mine's dad, showed me the disc case of this game, Overlord, and on his words (can't really translate to the exacly same words to english) "you command these little guys to kick everyone's asses" and the image of this character and it's minions is something that, a few days ago, I just thouth about! And here you guys are, bringing this game up on the list. 🇧🇷
Plague Inc could have a Story Mode. You are a Bond Villain. The Intro Cinematic shows you defeating a Bond Rip Off with your planned traps instantly then swivelling your chair around to a huge display and zooming in for the UI to fill the screen. Would be a fun little thing that could be done with little effort
I got to know so many new games…thanks man!
"Carrion" fits the list
I loved the Overlord games. They weren't mechanically perfect, but the humour was great imo and the gameplay fun. Great to see it get some recognition here.
Isn't the "Dungeon" series kind of a succesor for the Dungeon Keeper series? From the gameplay videos at least, it seems kinda similar to me and the newest part was released just last year.
literally watch you guys during my lunch break everyday, love this channel! Keep up the great work guys! Pizza is one me!
the 'prototype' games really let you just embrace the chaos and lay everything to waste, 'prototype 2' even let you turn entire neighbourhoods into zombies by throwing blue containers full of virus at cars and watching the chaos lol
spec ops the line did make me feel really uncomfortable, especially with the phosphor mission.
Evil genius was 2004. Majority of your capture for it is from evil genius 2 released in 2021. Either way glad it got a mention. Original was great and 2 updated a lot and was a lot of fun to play. Also 2 has Brian Blessed voicing one of the characters you play as, which has to be a plus..
BRIAN BLESSED
Fun fact, the Overlord games were written by Terry Pratchett's daughter, Rhiannon!
Between her writing, and Marc Silk's voice work, they really elevated those games. Glad to see they haven't been totally forgotten ❤
I'm surprised the game 'HATRED' didn't make the list. Still on Steam. It's a physics based twin stick shooter where you go on a killing spree and complete side quests.
I think it has to be a good game to make the list, or at least not glorify mass killing with zero narrative substance
As a terrible person I feel validated. Thanks gameranx 💪🏻
Far Cry 3 had, in my opinion, single best character progress in the gaming history. From young, naive americano boy to tribe leader, serial killer and basically psychopath. And it is so well written, Vaas basically serves both as villain and catalysator for your own craziness.....Ubisoft really had some balls back then. Too bad they forget.
After a horrible few days, I find that not 1 but 2 GR videos dropped today. I can finally enjoy something, thank you guys!
I’m not done the video yet but Nathan Drake from Uncharted… the man is technically a mass murderer lol
People who reply to pornbots are too funny 😂😂😂
Rimworld. you can be just a regular peaceful tribe or whatever, OR you can harvest the organs of every stranger you meet, amputate limbs just to install pegs or prosthetics, or just for no reason at all. you can raid other tribes, starve prisoners in the darkness, conduct research on them, and with the DLCs im sure a lot more real fucked up stuff haha
Dungeon Keeper 2 is one of my all-time favourite games. There was a spiritual successor that came out (War for the Over World) I miss Bullfrog. They made some of the most iconic games. Another company i miss is Lions Head Studios. Black and White & The Movies were amazing.
Really wish we'd get more reverse-slasher, stealth-action horror games like Manhunt. The only other franchise to come close to the atmosphere and dread of this one would be the Condemned games.
Keep an eye out for Tormentor from Madmind Studios. 🔪
Yooo Condemned scared the daylights outta me and my siblings when they came out. I remember my little brother begged to watch me play, and I told him to ask our dad, expecting a solid HELL NO, but nope, he said it was cool. About 20 minutes later, cue kid brother running out of the room covering his eyes while I yelled "I TOLD YOU GUYS THIS WAS A BAD IDEA!!" 😂 Can't blame me for that one
OG Modern Warfare: "No Russian"...
But you were a good guy who was caught. So doesn’t count
@@bennyblunto973 To you it does not count shooting civilians on an airport because you are in fact a good guy?
The Lone Ranger game for the NES. While the Ranger himself is a hero, and you're meant to save the day just like him, you could actually attack townsfolk and just rampage through old west towns, ages before the likes of Gun and the Red Dead franchise.
Liked for simply mentioning Overlord. I remember playing that game randomly at a friends house one day and absolutely loving the unique concept, should get a modern adaption.
God of war trilogy should be on this list. Kratos being jerk to everyone is on another level.
I miss that Kratos. Most games you play as a hero trying to do the right thing, family, etc. GOW was a refreshing change... and then they changed him into a typical hero character.
@@Paulafan5having a kid changes people. In real life too
GTA V Trevor & Michael lol
Honestly for me i expected to see postal 2 in the video
The dungeon keeper series isn't dead, it's just switched names. The new, not shitty dungeon keeper series is just called "Dungeons" and right now there are 4 of them. Exact same premise, exact same mechanics, but it's mostly played for laughs and has the narrator from "the Stanley parable".
"Plague inc" is actually much older than some random phone game. It used to be a flash game called pandemic. Then someone took the concept, made a phone game with it, and has absolutely made bank on it.
i remember playing Pandemic 2 on some flash game site way back in middle school
@@quinnmarchese6313 same, it was almost exactly what plague inc is, just with slightly less features. But the whole "upgrade with points, cover the map" was exactly the same
How did the last of us 2 not make this list?
Is anyone really an asshole? Or otherwise decent ppl caught up in revenge.
I despise Abby, but she is justified in her want for revenge. Just as Ellie is.
Manhunt needs a remake! :-) old but still good to play and still sick :-)
Along with a Rockstar Directors Cut of Manhunt 2.
@@DavidWilliams-bm8jh oh yes my friend :-) hard times made me sell my ps2 copy about a year ago. Like you I’d love to see both of these titles come to the new consoles.
Keep an eye out for Tormentor from Madmind Studios… 🔪
Just downloaded the og Max Payne and even though it's pretty dated and kinda janky damn it's still a lot of fun! Bring back Max Payne!
Plague Inc. is actually the spiritual successor to an even older game series: Pandemic and Pandemic 2. An old flash game series I was frequently playing probably 15+ years ago. So it has even more staying power than you think.
9:31 I have NO IDEA why this AvP game hasn’t been attempted for a new generation. I had SO much fun with this one!
A modern Manhunt game would be awesome.
Especially with VR. I’d be sold.
James from Silent Hill 2 was a terrible guy, too
Two that are honorable to mention is State Of Emergency for the ps2 and OG Xbox that game was basically the reason why game stores started to check ID for rated M games. If you don't no what State Of Emergency is youtube it. Secondly is Haterd for PC that game was far from good but it was out of this world brutal asf. Those two are definitely worth adding to the list.
Dungeon keeper does have a sequel. Dungeons 3 and Dungeons 4 are VERY much the sequels done by a different dev team/publisher but it absolutely captures everything that made Dungeon Keeper 1 and 2 so good. It also HEAVILY pokes fun at RPG fantasy troupes which just adds to the greatness
CyberScam 2077
You even play the same game as me?
It’s literally not even a bad game anymore. It’s alot smoother than it was.
You forgot to mention Helldivers 2...soooo...ya
TREASON
Are you slow? They literally said at the start of the video that they want to focus on less well-known games.
Helldivers is satirical humor on the war machine; you’re not actually a bad person ffs. 🤦🏻♂️
In Helldivers 2, you play as a goddamn superhero of democracy. Are you one of those bug-lovers?
I love how TH-cam won't let you show that Predator finisher but they have no problem letting you show someone's throat get slit while looking deeply into their eyes from Far Cry 3 😂😂😂
“You can’t really do it in real life”. *All the world’s current criminals*: “Am I a joke to you?”
The self-proclaimed anti-badguys.
This needed to be a Falcon video…
I couldn't agree more!
Your mom needed to be a falcon video
@@samtepal3892 oh that would be honour
That's kinda rude to Jake, it didn't need to be a Falcon video
@@samtepal3892 😂
I know its not a new opinion but Papers Please really is a fantastic game. Just the pressure to keep doing your job so your family don't starve or die of disease, or you get executed for failure. All the while do you take a bung for your family, do you look the other way while the "rebels" sneak through. I wouldn't say you are a terrible person though, or you don't need to be (though it will sure make you feel like it). Its more the pressure to ensure the survival of those you love combined with the banality of evil.
"War for the Overworld" is a spiritual successor (practically clone) of Dungeon Keeper. So if you're looking for of that in a bit more of a modern look, check it out.
17:40 easiest way in Plague Inc.:
High infectivity, no severity or lethality, and then point dump into lethality boosting things after you reach all the pop...
also, I am SURPRISED that Rimworld isn't on this list with some of the things you can do in that game, but I guess you said it's less of the title of "Let you do terrible things" and more so where you WILL do terrible things.... which is still Rimworld in a way cause there's very few ways to build Rimworld with out committing some heinous acts. lol
Overload was awesome. I remember dungeon keeper around the same time I think.
The early 2000's were so crazy - but I would be really happy to play a new gen version of "Manhunt"
"The Club" would be pretty nifty too!
I bought "Papers, Please" on steam.. looking forward to playing it.
Every time I watch a video with Jake, I use it as a drinking game where i take a shot every time he chuckles in a sentence lol. Love gameranx tho, so don't think im trying to trash it or anything.
I enjoyed stumbling into playing as an asshole in Baldur’s Gate 3 based on what I thought was an innocuous background choice. But once the game forced me into my first murder, I decided to embrace the dark side. One of the best gaming experiences I ever had.
Glad to see some Dungeon Keeper being mentioned
The Black and White series was pretty great for this. Those games were so amazingly fun!
Kind of surprised the very niche Deception series wasn't on here.
man Dungeon Keeper I remember putting coins on the dungeon heart, thought it would make the heart bigger and building a treasure room around it xD.....pretty cool that a lvl 10 thief will evolve into a knight aswell
"Cristmas Massacre" from Puppet Combo is a crazy one.. I know you are not really into indie development and stuff but you should check it out.
Dungeon series exist, you know? It was really weird to NOT hear it at number 3. Since they are, basically, modern version of DK.
Black and White was great for this. You could be a benevolent god if you wanted to, or you could steal settlers from rival villages and sacrifice them to make you more powerful. Or teach your pet to go kick over rival settlers, throw rocks at their home, set fire to their food storage, etc.
If you liked Dungeon Keeper, you may want to check out "Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: Dungeon Master", which is an evil wizard builds his dungeon simulator. Really fun, came out a few months back. :)
I mean.... the whole Fable series? And of course, Young Kratos was also a huge asshole most of the time even if he had "his reasons" and most deserved it you just LOVED when he went overboard with the kills. There's a reason every single video that mentions GoW 3 always chooses the scenes of him pressing his thumbs into Poseidon's eyes or beating Zeus to a meaty pulp until your finger gets tired and your screen can't get any more red. He's just fucking BRUTAL in the OG games.
