- Just to let you know I'll be taking a break from TH-cam, just to allow me to pursue some other interests for a while.
Feeling very well and healthy, I just need some spare time, just don't know where it all goes.

Hi Pat thanks for the update. You’re a great example of a free spirit who by definition like to set their own agenda’s and I think we can all respect you for that. Don’t forget that your legacy on u-tube is always there and I for one enjoy watching them over again. It’s a great body of work for which you should be justifiably proud. Pat - I reckon I've watched all your videos and have begun re-watching. I find myself looking on google maps and peak district maps mid-video to see where abouts you are. It's been great to get to know a region on the other side of the world. I hope you find the time to make a comeback one day and even though you might think it's repetitive and tedious, you have a knack of being entertaining just talking to the camera regardless of the setting!

Going to miss your videos a lot. Your tree camping videos got me and grandkids to climbing trees. I'll be 72 at the end of July and still very haven't tree camped but very much want to. Id like to make a tree hamock just like the one you made. That videos I have saved to be able and make one like it. GOD BLESS in your break and hope to hear more from you.

I really do appreciate your work Pat. I've enjoyed it for years. I understand completely about your energy level. I have my loadout down to 28 lbs. with consumable's, for a two-nighter, (3 seasons), and that is still too heavy. Enjoy the break, and smell the roses. Life is moving far too fast for me as well. I live in Wakefield not so far from yourself and travel through Sheffield to Nottingham every other week - I always look out over the distant hills around the outskirts of the city and smile thinking I bet the views I’ve seen from your tent at night were from those hills !
I’ve just got to 40 years old and have started doing some motorcycle repair videos, my word I totally understand how much effort goes into doing them, let alone to the standards that you do !
Take some time out for yourself buddy because when something becomes “a job” so to speak we lose our heart in it !

I've always enjoyed your wild camping videos. You've been an inspiration to me. I'm sure camping inside the edge on Kinder Scout would never have occurred to me if I hadn't watched you doing it first.
Like, (I suspect), many others, I'm guilty of taking you for granted. Sitting and watching the videos at home it is easy to forget just how much work has gone into making them.

Nicely put, Patrick, you hit the nail right on the head there. The time planning, recording, and post-production can take days. Thanks for the update Pat, so glad you are having some me time and I do hope you and the good lady are still dancing. Regards the getting older but that's something I understand! But I'm sure I speak for all your followers it would not matter if you did a wild camp in the garden again, we just enjoy seeing you. Or maybe another shed pub video. Anyway enjoy the break and look forward to seeing you towards the end of the year.
