Ooh the tea on JK. It’s so difficult to enjoy the series with her continually pushing out content. I know that it’s not solely her decision and there’s a lot of money behind it, but the series needs to be put to rest. Like you said, the cultural impact is undeniable but let the series rest.
I honestly haven't followed her or the news for so many years so I've no clue and I don't want to hear about it haha. Love the series as it is but don't care about the rest.
I stopped listening after the Dumbledore and Grindelwald one. I would like to draw my own conclusions about the characters based on their canon interactions.
I know this isn't what you're saying at all, but I see a lot of people calling JK Rowling money hungry, and I think it's a bit unfair. She has so much money and she gives a ton away to charities. You are absolutely right that there are people behind her who want money, but I think it wouldn't matter for JK anymore. I believe she just loves living in the world of Harry Potter, and wants to share everything with us because she thinks we want it. Considering how much of a phenomena the series was and how much it changed her life, I imagine it would be very hard to just let go.

Also I would like it if she just wrote a book instead? If she wants to give us more information, I'd prefer it if she wrote a series or stand alone books about the Marauders or the Hogwarts founders.
Regardless of what the author does. The story stays the same. And my feeling towards it won't change based on things outside said story. Therefore Harry Potter will always be on God Tier for me.

@Karleigh Bennett E books not audiobooks. E books are just normal story lines displayed on a screen instead of paper. Not audiobooks. I find audiobooks very time consuming and boring.
i agree with every single placement in this video except for Harry Potter. I really do respect your decision, and i understand it (ALSO I HATE JK ROWLING LIKE U RLY GOTTA STOP) but also this series has (personally) helped through the *hardest* times in life, and I would put it in god tier just for that. If this series didn't exist, neither would i. So its a god-tier for me. BUT I UNDERSTAND YOUR DECISION!!!!

Musix Magix i don’t think it is really necessary. There are no Spoilers, and the books are mostly connected by some characters that will apear in all series. And you might understand things that aren’t fully explained in the other books. I would actually recommend to read tID first , because every other takes place after that

Re: Harry Potter. I agree, I LOVE Harry Potter, but it's getting so saturated and it's so annoying. What gets me the most though, is how Harry Potter is referenced in every YA contemporary ever. It makes me automatically dislike the book. Love the series, but I need it to go away for a while so I can appreciate it more.

Though her Carve the Mark series was really good.

All The Wrong Questions is much better than ASOUE. I get that ASOUE was first, and different and special, but going back to it, i can't stand it for some reason (Also The End was AWFUL). ATWQ has better characters, a better plot, and is much shorter (4 books vs 13), so it's a lot less tedious.

I was so nervous for the infernal devices because it is my favorite series. But when I saw Cassandra Clares other books. Specifically the dark Artifices. Which I hear everyone loves. (I haven’t read it yet)
Edit: It is June now and I have finally finished all of Cassandra clares books now.

The one thing is,It had a pretty weak plot ,when you compare it to some of her other works

Best relationships, the worst plot (I didn't care about Mortmain at all).
2. TMI
Pretty good relationships (Alec and Magnus are my favorites. I feel like they full come into their own in TDA). Best plot.
3. TDA
Only relationship I really cared about: Mark, Keiran, and Cristina. I didn't care about Emma and Julian. I like Kit and Ty but I feel like their relationship is meant to be fully developed in the Wicked Powers. Plot, better than TID? Not as good as TMI.

I understand why he became who he was in TDA but I didn't like him. Yes, he could be a sweet dad but he lied to get what he wanted, even lying to Emma. He even scared Emma a few times. I hate the part when Emma and Julian were making out and Julian starting saying the parabatai oath in a sexual way. I couldn't stand it since I felt it was blasphemous to Will and Jem.

Nunca me ha interesado ningún nacionalismo, español incluido, y mientras tenga una vida digna me da igual que en el ayuntamiento de mi ciudad ondee la bandera española, china o congoleña. Entiendo que para vosotros los catalanes el sentimiento nacional es algo relevante, pero, por lo menos donde yo vivo, la gente se siente de su casa (como mucho de su ciudad) y con eso tiene suficiente XD, debemos de ser muy poco sentimentales para esas cuestiones.

I've noticed that people love to hate it though so there's that. It's god tier for me. Not because of the first book or even the second. It is because of the rest.
So here's how reading the series went for me
Throne of Glass: eh, it was okay.
Crown of Midnight: okay getting a little more interesting
Heir of Fire: oh shit oh shit oh shit this is getting goooddd
Queen of Shadows: okay not as good as HOF, but pretty great.
Empire of Storms: Did...did I just read this long ass book that could have wrapped up the series but didnt?
Kingdom of Ash: Did not read. At this point, I felt like the author was just dragging out the story. And after I found out it was almost 1000 pages, this solidified that in my mind, and I gave my copies of the series to a friend . And I would like to mention this was and still is the first series I decided to just drop.
I actually liked the first two books the best. And @@purplelion4489 : yesss, I'm reading Empire of Storms rn and it's sooo boring. I'm already 500 pages in and NOTHING is happening

I think it's bad overall but I have mixed emotions about it as well. It was my first fantasy and YA and so it holds a special place in my heart but there are so many things about it I HATE, ABSOLUTELY HATE So I'd put it in bad
I think it’s completely okay to love TOG, I mean millions of people probably do including myself. It’s also okay to acknowledge that it’s not perfect and that it has some problematic qualities. So no, nothing wrong with your reading preference. To each their own :)

I read it about 8 years ago but I loved it. The second book was good, and the rest was trash. So upsetting. In my opinion, obviously, some people love the whole series!

i couldn't continue after the first book. i hated the ending and also none of the characters really spoke to me. i have the first two books sitting on my shelf and i'll probably never read the second one. i've expected to love the series since a friend of mine recommend it to me and usually our taste is pretty much the same but in my opinion red queen is absolute trash.

six of crows is my all time favorite series and now i’m so excited because i own strange the dreamer and a darker shade of magic and!!! i’m happy i still have god tiers waiting for me

I RELATE TO THIS SO MUCH especially the harry potter bit, oof, it rings so so true. it means so much to me, i’ve got a tattoo if it, i love the characters so goddamn much, but it’s got so many problems! and jkr won’t shut up!! i’m sure that had i read it for the first time now, it would barely make it in the good tier, and that’s kind of sad tbh.
also same with the cruel prince, i couldn’t even finish the first book because i didn’t like it at all and could not for the life of me see why everyone loved it so much, so thanks for the validation!
i have to reread so many of these, a lot of them i read in middle school or early highschool and can barely remember anything from, and they deserve more!!
