Honestly I got lucky. I wasn’t even looking for the job. It was on fb job ads when fb had that feature. It’s really hard to find a company with an open van. Most companies have a long list of people waiting to drive their vehicles. The one I work for is a small mom and pop operation. Try looking for “non cdl driver” on job websites. Is it true that driver are getting little load? I heard someone at my job said one of their relative sold their van and drive for Amazon local driver becuse there aren’t many loads offer.
Some people say this yes and some people say their is always work. But that’s in every industry. Some people give up when it gets a little hard and some people press forward and make it work. It’s definitely not easy but it’s not impossible either
The broker didn’t know they couldn’t contact the receiver and I wasn’t trying to sit around and waste time to find out. The later I get to the next drop off the less chance I have of getting the next load the next day. It was only a 30 mile difference. Wasn’t going to kill me as much as waiting around for Confirmation. Thankfully they took both drop offs at location 1

Hey I’m trying to get into the business. Most contracts I’ve seen have said I can expect .85 per mile minimum. Are they including fuel costs in that price or at I still on my own for fuel at .85? I was wondering because the lowest I’ve seen you say you were getting paid was .95. Curious if that is because they are taking out fuel costs for me. Thanks

I actually reached out to C5 and after watching a TH-cam video of their owner (the dad), break down the fee's, I started LAUGHING 4 minutes into that video (No way I'm giving away 30% off the top..then another $300 a week for their insurance...lmao....my commercial insurance for 1million is only $400 a month) . I'll look into Panther Logistics and see what they offer. Thanks for the info🙌🏽
It’s too bad you can’t get the van owner to take his 35%after the fuel comes out. Does the van owner do more than just provide the van and maintain the van and insure the van? Like dispatch or anything?

I’m making a career change soon, getting a van and going expediting. I traveled for work in my last job for 17 years, lived here in Fl but worked NY and Philly away from home 2-3-4 weeks at a time, so being out and away is ok. I started watching Tim and Allen Paxton like 5-6 years ago and I watched those guys grow !! Right now just been searching for a van, talking to Ford and Mercedes. Probably wait until winter passes,like March. Anyway, it’s good that you’re home, enjoy the family time !! Thanks for sharing your experience 👊🏼💪🏼👍🏼

@@ExpeditingAmerica I been looking at some of the load board's & it's horrible but even with your dead head you got more than a $1 per mile which is good. If you knew how to get around paying taxes (which is VOLUNTARY/only illegal if you don't file) that would of been close to $500 in a day. That's good money to me.

I live in Summerville. Bosch is in North Charleston they probably told you Summerville so they could shorten your miles by 10. Haha.

Sorry I’m replying so late but every contract is different. Make sure you read the whole thing and hit up a few companies and compare
How much time do you usually have between loads?
Depends could be a few hours could be a few days but on average 4-8 hours after I drop off

Only dispatch I’ve used is the small company I work for. Wish I could be of more help. Most people jump around til they find a dispatch they like

Do not go with C5 Expedite horrible experience. Go with Panther Logistic LLC. Trust me. You will get killed on the rates.

They dispatch too but maintaining these vans is costly and so is the insurance. About $1400 a month for just that
