I like Ms. Judy Harbin's comments of 5 years ago. The Good Shepherd will not lead us where He does not want us to go.The Baylor choir gives an excellent performance. Very uplifting! My favorite phrase is " No longer a stranger nor a guest but like a child at home"! Stay safe everyone and God Bless Us!
1. My Shepherd will supply my need Jehovah is His Name; In pastures fresh He makes me feed Beside the living stream. He brings my wand’ring spirit back When I forsake His ways, And leads me, for His mercy’s sake, In paths of truth and grace. 2. When I walk thru the shades of death, Thy presence is my stay; A word of Thy supporting breath Drives all my fears away. Thy hand, in sight of all my foes, Doth still my table spread; My cup with blessings overflows; Thine oil anoints my head. 3. The sure provisions of my God Attend me all my days; O may Thy house be mine abode, And all my work be praise! There would I find a settled rest (While others go and come), No more a stranger or a guest, But like a child at home.
Our church choir sang this arrangement as the anthem during yesterday's worship service. It reaffirmed my intention to have it sung at my memorial service when the time comes. Exquisite!
This was one of my favorite pieces when I sang in the Baylor A Cappella Choir! Never sang it this slowly...and I LIKE it! It makes it more serene and calm (It also makes it harder to sing those long phrases well!!) WONDERFUL!!
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (July 19, Pentecost 8), we sang this as the Hymn of the Day. It is #782 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.
I first heard this hymn on 9/12/01 when the prayer service at the National Cathedral was televised during the national day of mourning for those killed and injured during the terrorist attacks on 9/11/01
One of my favorite selections for the quality of the arrangement and text. But far more than this, the message of this piece is extraordinary -- "no more a stranger, nor a guest, but like a child at home." Simply and profoundly beautiful.
I discovered this circa July 2019, and loved it. It really ministers to my spirit and soul. I lovvvvve how it gradually swells in the third verse! What a blessing music is! Thank you, Stephen Goose for sharing this with us!
Timothy Johnson - Our Mom was the organist at Easton Presbyterian Church for over 50 yrs- When I listen to this beautiful rendition I can hear her saying “pick up the pace!”🙂
+Rainbeaux Steele Good point....thanks. This vid. got me spending lots of time with the great group! I'm going to try to find out if they ever perform in Los Angeles! I'd fight the nasty traffic to hear them live. Cheers & blessings.
I don't know if the guy who posted this video was in this choir or not, but I just wanted to say that this rendition is great. It's better than the MTC's own version (and their conductor arranged it). The slower tempo is better, and the climax of this song is more powerful than the Mormons' version. Very moving. Well done.
This is the same arrangement we sang in my college choir, except we didn't have the oboe. The chord progressions in the last chorus are different than any other version out there. I have tried everywhere to find it....is this arrangement available to purchase or download ? (Piano score)
My soul melts whenever I listen to this, and I'm listening to it virtually nonstop these days. I can't stop weeping - it is like a healing balm.

Nice balance and blend in this choir. Female voices really stood out at times. Sounded great. Great message in the song.

Nicely done!

Go Baylor! Go Mack Wilberg! One of my favorite songs ever!
I first heard this hymn on 9/12/01 when the prayer service at the National Cathedral was televised during the national day of mourning for those killed and injured during the terrorist attacks on 9/11/01

Baylor A Cappella choir--- AMAZING.
Profoundly moving .. love the tempo!
You guys are awesome! I love this song! Beautiful!

Wolrd-changing melody aside, the new covenant expression of the text of psalm 23 is matchlessly beautiful
I do not understand it but I just keep trusting my Good Shepherd because I know He will not lead me anyplace He does not want me to follow
Beautiful performance of an exceptionally lovely piece! Many thanks!
my favorite hymn
I love the tempo with which they perform this arrangement. Slower than when even Mack Wilberg conducts it. I like it better this way.

@@juberoma2429 she knew this tempo tends to drag the whole hymn forever.
Woooww.. !! Amazing... ! So beautiful !!! =) You and the Mormon Choir are my favorite =)
I love this piece so much!!! I did it a couple of years ago with my choir.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
A favorite! Thank you.
Chills...! outstanding job!
Fine performance of a profoundly beautiful piece!
This is just beautiful! Gave me goosebumps.
Beautiful
I like it slow like this, too.
I like It. Good choir and good arrangement!
This was lovely!! I'ld like to hear the A Capella Choir sing it .....a capella.
PUAlum That would be gorgeous but, this arrangement of the song isn't made to be sung a capella.
Rainbeaux Steele Come on, use a little imagination...I bet I could write something great if I tried, and I'm not even an arranger.

+starwarsjunkie7777 I bet you are right. Compose something beautiful. The world will be better for it.

sounds much better at slower tempos like this

I love it! But it's not A Cappella!
Very moving and well done. A bit slow for my liking, but great otherwise.
It's not sung A cappella; it's Baylor's A Cappella Choir singing . . .
Nice, but not a cappella
