Part 11 of the (very) long term project to build a model railway in OO gauge. This part shows the preparation and installation of Peco pits into the south section, including painting and LED lights.
Hi. Having watched your video I thought I would like to install an inspection pit to my layout using those small LEDs was just right. I'm really pleased with my end result. Thanks for sharing your video. 🚂🚃🚃🚃
Welcome back :) I agree trying to do droppers so that they are functional yet hidden can be a right pain of a job. The pit's look great though :) Cheers, Michael
Great series - though with videos 1-10 being from 2013 I had imagined that by the end of the series it would be fully built. At this rate HS2 will be built quicker than this.
A great series of vids. enthralling, entertaining and informative, Simon. Well done.
Would love to see further work on this layout. It was really taking shape and your videos are great to watch!

Love these sorts of videos they give you a lot of great ideas but they all seem to die off.
Really like the lighting. Nice touch! Excellent job soldering the drops under the rails as well.
The inspection pits look excellent. The lighting makes such a difference!
Good video, many thanks, regards Charlie
Hi, good to see you back. Cheers Ted.
Excellent video, loved the way you did your inspection pits...Simon
Great job on the inspection pits!
Hi
Nice video, the pits look great.
Cheers Paul

But worth it when you eventually figure out something that works!
Very cool. The lighting ads something. Now to dirty it up with the grime of a railway. :)
👌👍
Hi. Do you use Peco tracks code 100 or 70?
Code 100
Great series - though with videos 1-10 being from 2013 I had imagined that by the end of the series it would be fully built. At this rate HS2 will be built quicker than this.
LOL unfortunately, life gets in the way of a good railway! I'm confident mine will be cheaper than HS2
Which track are you using for your points? Rob
Mostly Peco 100 with a few Hornby that I already had.
Moorway South Thank you
So, you had a thirty year old tin of enamel, which was fine,so you decided to use modern , trendy paints , which where rubbish
I think you must have skipped the part where I said I was using the enamel paint on the pits (4:37)
