    Looks like a nice stalk chopper, didn't know they made them. When I open my stalk chopper up in back to windrow it doesn't like wet stalks either. Wow 3/10 of rain, I could use that. Been dry here for like 2 months.🍻🍻

      Seems to work pretty good, but yep it doesn't like those tough stalks. First rain we've had in about the same time, sounds like more coming later in the week 🍻🍻🍻🍻

    Pronounced- Sioux/Cup = Sukup. I live about 20-25 miles from the factory.

    Hauling 💩! Never ending Job?🤷🏼‍♂️🤣 You need a bigger bucket of your skid steer?I really like Berlon bucks. They seem to hold up pretty good. Looks like a decent stalk chopper haven't seen one like that before? Good luck on getting some nice dry bedding. Yep I hate them fields also. All you you do is turn around.. lol the skunk almost got you! 🤢🤣😂👍🤣🍻🍻🍻🍻

      Yep. Guess we shouldn't complain with the price of fertilizer lol. I bought a vernig bucket with my kubota I use for mixing feed. Seems like a good bucket but the back is grated at the top all the 💩 would run out lol. Was too close for comfort with that skunk , rotten bastards 🤮🤣🤣🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻

    Is there any difference in the job that stalk chopper does compared to a plain old brush hogg type mower? I grew up on a farm, but we never had a stalk chopper. Just used our brush hogg.

    • @hartungdairyfarm0713
      @hartungdairyfarm0713  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would think they'd be pretty comparable. Seems alot of the big grain farmers around here just use a batwing mower to cut their stalks before tilling, looks about the same anyway lol

    After seeing you cleaning out the plugged chopper I can see it is to green and wet. The stalk chopper needs a little dryer stalk to chop because the chopper is not designed for that tough of stalks. Lots of times if there are to long of stalks can give trouble raking and baling. Thanks for doing regular videos and appericate your sharing.

      Yeah probably should've waited for them to dry more but I want to get the winter rye put in. Should dry a bit quicker being cut up and not flat on the ground. Thanks for watching 👍

      @@hartungdairyfarm0713 You do a great job with your posts showing all aspects of good and bad. Thank you from an old dairy farmer who used stanchons and milked 70 head in a 34 stanchon barn with no free stall. Only a pole shed with stalks for bedding 50 yards across the cow yard and this was year around in southern Mn. Oh the winters. lol

    we had 68/100 a couple of days ago up here so I am letting my cows recreational graze until they are dry enough to shred and bale!

    Man yeah!! Spreading some 💩 Can't say I blame you for scooping it instead of stirring. "Dryer than a popcorn fart" man my dads favorite saying right there 🤣🤣🤣🤣 That stalk chopper is working great!!! Probably the wet stalks causing that plug up like you say. Oh my gosh, skunks 😳😳😘😳 Boy you got lucky!! Yes sir tried and true to the red😉😉😉 Looking fwd to seeing some baling of the stalks soon!! Hope y'all get some rain!! Thank you for bringing us along!! Loved every min of it!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😁😁😁👍👍👍🌽🌽🌽🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻

      Yep scooping is way easier as long as most the liquid is out. Popcorn fart is definitely a good description 🤣🤣🤣. Hopefully be baling in a few days, they went and put some rain in the forecast for next week. Thank you sir, enjoy your trip 👍👍🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻

    It might be worth buying a manure auger for your pit it will move thick slop at a good pace. And you won't have to mix it up.

    • @hartungdairyfarm0713
      @hartungdairyfarm0713  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've thought about that, I wish I would've put a slope in the pit so the manure could run towards either the pump or an auger. We'll see what happens. Thanks for watching 👍

    how sharp is the chopper ?? does that make any sense ?? even if wet or green, it would process it better. thanks for a brief moment of a better reality, than *dancing with the stars* !!

    You might want to try to go a bit faster when chopping . If you check out Trinity dairy he goes pretty quick when stalk chopping

    • @hartungdairyfarm0713

    What the heck is snapplage ???

    • @hartungdairyfarm0713
      @hartungdairyfarm0713  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Basically high moisture ear corn with the husk. I've got a couple videos of doing it

    • @lt1nut
      @lt1nut ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Silage includes the corn stalks, Snaplage does not (it leaves the stalks on the field). It's cowcaine...
      It "snaps" each ear off of the stalk, chops it/them up, and blows the entire mess out the chute; there is no "back end" to blow anything else out. It picks and chops not-dry "moist" ear-corn to fermenting an air-tightish silo or bunk as opposed to picking dry cob-corn which then gets ground as needed after further drying in a corn crib (a "silo without walls", "bird cage with a roof", a bunk with slatted walls under a roof, etc).
