woo !woo ! what tail is that my friend? and tell me what is the best time of year to visit St. Lucia
Hahaha According to my aunt, it was a roasted pork tail. It was delicious 🤤 Although it looked like a manicou tail 😆. The best time to visit is around the Christmas/New Year season. Or even July/August.
Good morning fellow Lucian enjoying this vlog, brings me back growing up, old school never dies in My eyes, it makes you appreciate what life is like living outside of St.lucia. blessings and thanks for sharing.

Love all of it, but i swear that was a roasted maniku's tail aunty Rosaline had there in the foil.
Country living is the best... you get fresh fruits in the backyard. Bravo Rollie.....beautiful

Grandparents are the best, well some ❤
Hahaha you're right, not all are but most are. I am so grateful for all my grandparents
18:24 So nostalgic for me right now...
I’m happy to share. Enjoy! 🏝️
It is our local collard greens lol i love it i steam it then stew it
That’s one way to describe it. Thank you Ms. Merle. Bitter collard greens then 🙂
I use it also in making soup
Good vibes honey
Thank you 🙏🏾
I love yard
14:30 Nice greenery. Seems like a quiet community.
Yeah it’s nice and tranquil most of the time 🤗 Our little paradise 🏝️
Good narrative
🤗 thank you Simona. Thanks for watching!
I guess am not the only one who mixes the temperature when drinking water
😁 We do it to get the perfect temp
My grand parents were from st lucia Alexander and valentine always want to meet families
Hello Marva 👋🏾 That’s beautiful. Have you been to 🇱🇨?
What were you eating in the end, I read somewhere that it may be an opossum. What does it taste like? Pork chicken or a completely different flavor
We were eating pork tail. We were just joking that the pork tail looked like an opossum’s (manicou in our creole language)
Tell your grand mother to saute the leafy greens in oil, onion and garlic. Boiling looses the neutrients in the water.
I’ll suggest that to her. That’s a very good pointe. 🙏🏾 Lots of nutrients get into the water and most times we don’t drink it.
Now i miss home😢
Thanks for always watching @islandgirllove9114. I’m sure home missing you too 🤗
@@KurrdeigeLenora 😊🥰
Where else do you live?
It looks like wild spinach
I wish we knew the English name for it.
My grandmother is from st.lucia I've never met my family from St.lucia anyone knows the Coggins family?
Hello 👋🏾 Do you know which community your grandmother is from? I’m not familiar the surname, but if you share the community, someone on here might know. 🙂
No,sorry, I don't .her last name was coggins..
@@africanempress3360👍🏾🙂
La point, I miss u 😊
💕 Aww Keishan 🤗
What is boiling in the pot?
We were boiling green bananas and ripe plantain. 🙂
I miss by aunty necess😢
You should visit again soon 🤗
What area are you in ?
We are from the east coast community of La Pointe, Mon Repos.
Do I need to rent a car when I visit
There is reliable public transportation, but it would be more convenient to have a private vehicle…provides more freedom. Do some research on cost to determine that. There are also taxi services.
20:37 What's that ?
It is roasted/bbq pork tail
@@KurrdeigeLenora Oh,thanks for letting me know.
When I visit Jamaica and Barbados, food costs are very expensive, especially in the supermarkets. Barbados is not a island that really as fruits 😳
I guess things are costly, especially food in the Supermarket all over the Caribbean. At least we have backyards and farms to plant so many of the food items we tend to go to the supermarket for...like veggies, fruits. I wonder why Barbados does not have many fruits...is it because it is a coral reef island and not volcanic?
Is it hard for foreigners to purchase land there?
Im not sure about that 🙂
@@KurrdeigeLenora Thank you. It's beautiful tho...
Nope it's not hard to purchase land here
@@djgordodakillabeethank you
@@djgordodakillabee Thank you for responding...I'll do som research
You look so much like your Aunt is your mom around to? if u don't mind me asking
😆 Sometimes people do say I look like my Aunt. Do you know my mom? She wasn’t around when we filmed this vlog.
@@KurrdeigeLenora oh ok thought she was around. No I don't know her. Yea you do look like your aunt alot and those who say that they're right about that lol. I like your channel content and your vibes keep doing them and many more I'm going to share them
thank you so much for the support. My mom appeared in the 202 Xmas vlog series on the channel 😄
The leafy greens wants to look like callaloo I may be wrong
It’s not callaloo. Mama was trying to explain while she prepared it…we call it “Ahgouma” in creole, but we do not know the English name for it.
What's the name of those mangoes you ate
We call them “green mango” but in creole
Where is ur Kenyan man y he is not in st Lucia with u
🙂
Can you make me some breakfast
Ofcourse 🤗
Grow your own watermelon its hot enough there
Yup, we do grow our own. I was just sharing a story, not that I wanted to buy it.
