Congrats on the Lochby purchase, John. It’s gorgeous! Being a BIG fan of waxed canvas, I’ve had my eye on this for quite some time. I think you’ll be thrilled with how well waxed canvas holds up, and how nicely it ages. Thanks for so many great videos. And I hope you are feeling completely better soon. Be well for Thanksgiving!
Lochby also makes a 4-pen case that fits nicely in the Velcro pocket in the back. I tried out this cover and really enjoyed the durability and the generous pockets, but A5 is just too large for me as an everyday notebook.
Yes the a5 is large , but I’m just using mine around the home and mainly around the desk. So I won’t be taking it out of the house. I’m going on give it a try for the year.
I have the lochby 4-pen case for my fountain pens and it's the best pen case I've ever had. Only maintenance I've had to do is lint roll it. I'm becoming a fan of waxed canvas for sure.
John, could you remind me of which Kokuyo A4 paper you recommend for printing inserts, etc. I looked at your Amazon Favorites, but I don't see it there. (Or perhaps I'm misremembering the brand.)
You make excellent reviews, pointing out all the features and demonstrating them clearly and with honesty. I think this looks very rugged and well made, I hope you enjoy using it. Glad to hear you’re on the mend also although you don’t sound quite right yet, look after yourself! PS have you seen the Alan Rickman book on his diaries? He had the most amazing penmanship and illustrated his journal entries; it made me think of all of us who like to doodle, paint and add artwork to our personal books 😊
I’ve seen some of the news regarding Alan Richman’s journals. I’d love to see them up close or a reprint of them. I love seeing how people journal, doodle, and process.
I've been eyeing the Lochby pocket notebook for about a year.
I’ve been looking at the pocket notebook one as well.
All the materials really remind me of like camping gear, even the buckle seems like something you would see on a roll top backpack.
I think so too. It looks very outdoorsy or rugged.

Thoughtful review John; thanks

I've been looking at some of their other products for future purchases with upcoming holiday gift money.

Will this hold a moleskine book?
Yes it will.
