Wish this was more possible for people with smaller hands! Thank you for giving an alternate chord to the very first chord for the left hand, but the second cord I can't reach at all on the left hand. :(
Bro I've been looking for just basic instrumentals of his songs but he's not that known yet I guess. I'm so glad there's a tutorial for this, Thank you so much!! Do you think you can email me the instrumental, I love just jamming out to this and I'd love to do a cover of it with your instrumental if you don't mind.
This is excellent; you rock!! Also your voice is very comforting, like it makes me feel like I'm going to learn this song no problem. Thanks for making this video dude. Subscribed and liked!!
Amazing channel with TONS of song tutorials. Thanks for the tutorial here for Easy. A recommendation would be to teach the structure / chord progression of the song. Be a bit easier to internalize and follow! Chill jazzy chords
Wow I’m really glad to have found your channel! This is the only tutorial that gives the exact chords as in the song. You just got a new subscriber ;) Btw may I know how do you figure out the chords from the song? Did you learn jazz and train your ears to pick out chord extensions?
Music Greatness that's amazing what a gift!! i wish i could do that because there are so many songs i have tried to figure out the chords to!! like winter time by chris august
i only know basic music theory...but what's the process behind choosing those D7, Eb add9, etc...how does one know itll work with the other chords when it's not in the scale of F? please help me understand
Hey bro! one quick question, was kindly requesting if you could maybe if you can do a tutorial on "Wrong" or maybe " Calvins Joint" by Mac Ayers?? If not it's cool!!
Didn’t want to simply reuplod it now that the overall quality of the tutorials has gone up. I’ll do it again and upload it on the site with the mention [Updated] attached to it
Awesome, love it, trying to learn it but would benefit from a chord / lead sheet outlining chord progression..... Hope you would make a analysis of this amazing song.
Sorry, I found your why it works series explaining the chord progression!. So many concepts I am only familiar. Question: why does a 11th chord voicing include the 9th? How does a 13th chord voicing work does it also have 9th and and in it?
Hey Felix, In jazz it’s common practice to "stack up" extensions so when you see a 9th chord it implies that the 7th is included. An 11th chord implies that the 9th and 7th are included and finally a 13th chord implies that the 11th, 9th and 7th are included. It’s not an absolute rule either so you may see chord voicings that don’t necessarily fit that concept. If you have more questions you reach out to us at elijah@musicgreatness.com!
Hello Elijah, I'm a bit green on chord voicings, just remembering some rule of thumbs like left hand plays 1 and 5 and right hand often plays 3 or 7 3 7 and to not double up on the 3 on to make the sound more open. Where and how can I learn more about the fundamentals of chord voicings?
Voicings is a wide subject, an endless subject to be precise. I won't be able to answer your question fully using text form but what you have to know is the basics. The most basic triads will get you so far when learning more advanced material because if the basics are not mastered it'll be impossible to progress any further. I have another series called Piano Basics that might help. other than that it's really building upon that knowledge and enhance your playing according to those fundamentals. Voicings will be heavily influenced by personal choice it's of course following a lot of principles and those basics is the first step to learning those principles.
Your tutorials are so so so great! However, I have a little suggestion; would it be possible for you to play the whole song through (all sections of the song) at the end of the video so we hear it all together? I understand the fear of theft and someone attempting to take your piano as instrumental. However, it would be awesome to be able to have the users wanting to learn the songs hear a collection of the sections after. That is just my own request. Other than that, I am so grateful I found your channel, and will definitely give you credit if I record a cover of a song using your videos. Thank you!
