I buy a lot of JT routes and have bought this one. I love the quality and attention to detail you get with JT which you don't see so much in the DTG routes. Biggest complaint as usual is the huge amount of extra payware you would have to buy to fully enjoy the route. I have all the 'Steam' payware, but not so keen to buy the JT and Armstrong Powerhouse items (all 9 of them) - it's just too expensive. Would be nice to have some career scenarios too.
We always include the payware and default version at JT. The defaults for this route are a lot more enticing to be honest as they dont use HSTs. They have mostly the correct stock being default versions from Southampton to Bournemouth :) Career scenarios is not something JT tend to cater to unfortunately sorry.
Amazing work at Mottisfont and Dunbridge! It’s uncanny. For a short while was my local when my parents moved out into the village. I have a pretty vivid memory of getting the first train back there from Southampton on a workday morning after getting stuck overnight after a night out 😅 Looks so good! Kudos to all of you! Considering picking this up for sure!
The awful building in the middle of Eastleigh station was where the Motive Power Dept was with rosters lockers and messrooms. In there was the Shedmaster, Clerks, timekeepers and in the middle was the guards messroom and at the end was the Drivers and Secondmens messroom. It was an interesting place to work with turns to Banbury, Ripple Lane and all over the country. At night, Westbury men would come over with a peak and was not usual to see a Western either. Happy days.
Final comment from me here for now I promise! Blown away by the level of detail in Romsey itself. Takes me right back to my school days. If there’s anything I’d have to make a suggestion on it’s maybe Romsey abbey being a bit too big, but great work all round, I can ge oh use so much of it from places I’ve walked. Including the old Romsey signal box was a great touch too!
Looking good, very good. You mentioned you will do another video using the upgraded Class 166 that comes with the route, that would be great to showcase and see! Will most likely get this soon. Thanks for sharing this video with us.
10:33 is Milford curve and you flew over Salisbury's old LSWR first station of Milford when the main station was built next to the 1840s GWR, the LSWR in 1858/9. The Milford station became a goods station only. On that curve one morning on my into Southampton for work the driver was speeding and the train was lurching to the point I thought we might get into trouble. Romsey Rocket eh. I try to avoid that one for all the stops Yet to go Chandlers Ford to Romsey on it with 158, but I have been both ways on Locos years back when it was freight only with diversions of passenger trains ad hock with only one booked passenger train on Saturdays from Cardiff to Weymouth via Salisbury and then Southampton going via Eastleigh in the 1980s also the local Salisbury to Southampton trains when loco hauled replaced units would either go via Eastleigh and back to Salisbury or Southampton then Eastleigh which I have done with 33s and a 37/4 on my way to work when I started on BR/SWT in the 1990s.
I believe the building at 1:09:32 used to be a motorcycle shop about 20ish years ago, but it was riddled with structural issues so it was condemned. However, it can't be demolished as it is a listed building.
A many few things, as someone who's lived in Southampton all their life and takes this train regularly as I go to and from Chandlers Ford for my tattoos, Usually, this train would come into Central at platform 2B, it's very rare that it goes elsewhere. And I'm never lucky enough to get the newer livery on the train when I get them, I'm jealous of those NPCs. But, I must say, they absolutely NAILED Southampton Central, its pretty much spot on so hats off to them for that👌🏼(like even the little flower pots and billboard placements are spot on). The tunnel defo feels as long in the game as it does in real life😂 the approach to Northam is spot on aswell. I live in Northam myself and so it's so strange to see the area I live in on here. The curve going to the depot, again spot on. I even saw a quick glimpse of Milbank Towers in Nortbam which is the area I live in. For a moment, I almost forgot I was watching a train sim video and thought it was actually a driver's POV😂. They even nailed St Denys with the colours of green and red, kind of iconic for St Denys. Swaythling used to be my local station and I used to stand on that bridge growing up with my friend who helped me to get over my fear of fast trains going underneath me at speed, and used to sit on those blue benches for hours to help me with the fear lmao. And they even included the fagbutt tower at Swaythling!🤣 airport parkway, again, amazing job. The approach/single rail section for Chandlers Ford was amazingly done too. That bridge I have to walk over everytime (urgh). And they even included FORDY!!! The little wooden train, I was so happy to see that was included in this🙌🏼 and the spot I sat at for 2 hours waiting for network rail to come and put a line block in so they could retrieve my earbud that somehow ended up on the track🤣🤣🤣 I know this is a looooong comment but I just had to give it the praise it deserved cause everything was just down to a T, amazing job to the creators of this, absolutely brilliant 👏🏼
Thank you for the information regarding the platforms. Feedback is all good and taken on board moving forward. Glad to hear a locals view on products and how it weighs up to real life :)
@TrainSim_TV I think that was the only "downside" to it and it isn't really much of a downside cause not many people would really know off by heart that its usual platform is 2b. But everything else was fantastic. Once the train left Romsey, it really kept an eye on everything and I was just amazed at the accuracy and the attention to detail for it, especially since I could literally recognise spots where I've stood or sat over the years. Phenomal job, big well done to everyone!
@@TrainSim_TV Oh I indeed will. My only request for Just Trains would be to extend the route up to Bristol, overwriting their South Western Expressways route
Looks fantastic excited to play it. Can you please have a look in future updates to the audio on the Level Crossings as they sound very loud and can hear them in the cab from a long distance away. Does the Southampton-Bournemouth have an upgrade to make it look consistent with this section of the route too?
Not sure if there is any future scope at the moment regarding the Level Crossing queries but i will pass this on to the relevant people. There has been some updates to the original section of S2B too.
I work at Salisbury Station. Its looking really same and all stations as well. Loved your video ❤️

@@TrainSim_TVSince im not able to use the websites i cant buy them but i wish dtg added their routes to steam and gave JT the money
The Romsey rocket needs to be in train sim World 4 and a Waterloo route. Exeter via Dawlish along the coast would be great too.

On the line up to get sorted rather soon potentially in the next week :)

Great vid and lovely looking route. I will be grabbing this after I get paid next week. I’d love to see this extension get extended further.

Hi mate. Question. Does the Armstrong powerhouse signal ep work on this route?
Look forward to buying it next week! Does the 166 improvements apply to the 166 link livery too or is it separate
Already picked it up
Enjoy!
Great video as always. I presume the SWR 158 in your video is an additional add-on and not part of the route?
Correct it is part of the AP class 158 enhancements
broken track all over the route that was not fixed
Can you send a support ticket to JT showing all broken areas.
