Just loved this video, I to am making or should I say collecting the 'goose eggs' skeins and you have inspired me to take them out and get started. I to also love books covers and the art work displayed which draws me to pick up the books and have a read xx
Lovely to see you again, glad you liked your new wires, they are so smooth & flexible. Bobbin snores as loud has Maurice! :) Belated happy birthday to your mum. xx
Hi Dani, so lovely to see you and hope your Mum enjoyed her birthday. So useful to watch you block the Goose Eggs Quilt block, thank you for that. It was fun to be knitting on mine as I was watching,. I'm just finishing my third block and absolutely loving it. I love browsing book shops and am very influenced by book tube and I read along with Miranda Mills and her Mum Donna for their Comfort Book Club. We are going to read The Blue Castle by L M Montgomery for May. Happy knitting, Teresa 📚🧶💕
I'm so happy you are enjoying the project Teresa and that the video was useful. The Comfort Book Club sounds right up my street, will have to look in to that. Oh yes a slow bookshop browse is bliss isn't it!
It's so wonderful to see you, Dani! Your blocks are absolutely gorgeous and your finishing work is so, so perfect as usual. :) I tend to have a bad habit of choosing books by their cover - I know, how cliche. Of course, then I do read the dust jacket for some insight into the plot line, but I find that the cover tells you so much before you even read the first word. I hope you and your family are well.
Thank you so much Traci 😊 The cover is such an influence isn't it. I'm fascinated by how they design the covers and tell so much through colour/picture/font etc. I have found that usually when I like the cover, I like the book. We are all really well thank you 😊 hope you and your family are too x
Thanks Dani this is very useful. I don’t own any blocking wires so I’ll have to get some. I’m finishing off Square 4 and no ends sown in yet! (Slaps wrist)😉 It’s going to be a mammoth task if I leave it much longer! Looking forward to the blocking though, it looks calming and meditative. I know what you mean about some books’ subject matter. I have only just returned to reading regularly after many, many years usually at bedtime and need something soothing to the soul.
So pleased it was useful. You are doing so brilliantly keeping up with it. I would definitely recommend blocking wires, they will give you the most beautiful result for all of your hard work knitting. I truly envy people who enjoy to knit in ends as they go 😂 it just really stops my flow.
I've been working on mine this week, it's a wonderful project :-) I think I'll give blocking wires a go, I've been knitting for years and have never tried them.
Knitting this fir my 35 year old daughter she has all the books and both dolls Violet Pickles and Ruby Buttons they have travelled from uk and are now in Brisbane Australia
So lovely 😍 the edging I have suggested in the pattern is an I cord edging. I really like the clean and simple way it finishes the blanket and it reminds me of the edge on quilts too.
