I don't know how this artist feel about his existence, but he can be very proud of his musical creations. I've been a Darkthrone&Bathory fan for 23 years now,and here's a guy who creates music of equal quality. Leviathan is fantastic.
@@gabrielvenegas2729 that is an awesome documentary. That one turned me on to striborg, that dude is really created some soundscapes that are unexplainable and yet so beautiful and dark.
Leviathan is a staple for sure. Jef Whitehead moved to my city, Portland few years ago, I saw him at Fred Meyer few years ago, he is an amazing artist for sure, also does tatooing. During the recording of "Tenth Sublevel Of Suicide", his girlfriend at the time was dying of cancer, and killed herself to I guess end it her own way, I respect that, but messed him up I am sure. I have been a fan for decades. I equally love Xasthur and Nocturnal Poisoning. One man metal is my thing, I play music as well. I hate having to share ideas and music with other musicians. Bathory after the debut album was gold too, and although most of Summoning's career was two people, still similar process as one man metal. I also am obsessed with Windir. I love all that music. Nothing worse to me than arena rock jock rock nonsense. I like mostly euro metal, Xasthur and Leviathan being one of the few music projects I like. \m/
Currently trying to interpret the lyrics to this song the only lines I've been able to decipher completely are 1:06 "A distant pain and fear in your eyes." 1:26 "[garbled] around your neck." (Most likely referring to trying hang himself. Or something to that effect.) 2:14 "[garbled] through your brain" Seeing as this song is clearly about his ex girlfriend dying from brain cancer he's obviously mentioning something coursing or going through her brain. This is all I could find. If anyone could hear any of the other lines more clearly it'd be cool if we could compile the lyrics together.
This work is originally from 2003, is a split with another Black Metal project, "Iuvenes / Leviathan- Live In Eternal Sin / The Speed Of Darkness". But some time later Jef released his part of this Split as an EP "The Speed of Darkness" in 2006. I don't know how long Jef knew his girlfriend, probably somewhere from 2002 onwards, I don't know that. But what I do know is that Lurker of Chalice was having his girlfriend, Jesse, as a muse for Jef. The album that is truly related to the event in which his girlfriend died was "Massive Conspiracy Against All Life" in 2008 (which was scheduled to be released in 2007, but was delayed due to controversies with Moribund Cult Records). His girlfriend died on June 11, 2006 (Precisely one of the tracks on the album comes in the Roman numeral "VI-XI-VI" which would be "6116"). That track is intimately tied to that fateful event and Jef's failed attempt at ending his own life.

go watch the Noisey documentary about one man Black Metal bands, you'll get a great insight on this guy's life.
I feel like Xasthur could enter your classment, but it's just my opinion

This song is amazing. The final riffs, the drums, everything during that final minute is insane. One of my favorite Leviathan songs
Leviathan is among the very few bands that I can NEVER get enough of.
Fucking absolutely
I think this is beautiful, and that one could only hope to achieve such emotion in their artwork...
Fantastic Black metal.....very unique and twisted.

For those who believe that we do not have feelings, this song...
Anger and hatred

Come with me child. And I shall show you Satan and the way.
I'm already a Satanist seeking Satan so I'm halfway there.
In One Man Metal he talks about his Girlfriend getting brain cancer, And commiting suicide, That's what he's referring to.
this made me sad
