Your performance also makes good use of rhythm machines. It's similar to my playing style. This message is from Japan. thank you.

Great organ playing. I owned a an X-77 from 72 to 84. A very unique and great sounding organ. I miss it but my B-3 and Elegante keep me busy. thanks for posting.

I never see anyone playing an organ with a TR-808! Cool stuff.

Perhaps you don't realize that Don Lewis worked with Yamaha on the DX7 and with Roland on the 808. He's a legend.

When I think of Rick Ruben and Corey Henry Jammin, this comes to mind.

+MrHammondorganman Actually you can hook about any line out device to any organ by locating a spot in the preamp to tie it in. Most Hammond organs of course have the typical RCA in/out tap point located on the silver box for the swell/volume pedal. Even my Hammond S-6 chord organ has an RCA in/out tap. My X-66 required I get more creative and I am sure the same can be done with the X-77. I just probed the preamp circuit board with my finger until I heard a hum then I just hooked a 1/4" socket to it to serve as an input. You can even as a resistor or potentiometer in between to pad it down a bit ( lower input level). I know what a typical transistor preamp circuit looks like so no risk of shock to me, but recommend you consult the manual go to the ORGAN FORUM and propose the question.
[ btw I also hooked a Wurlitzer pedal edge pitch bend switch , what Wurlitzer and Lowrey referred to as Pedal Glide (or ?). Hooked to the X-66's TREK III Transposer unit . And also made my own Wurlitzer Brass Horn for the X-66's non-flute (draw bars) Orchestral voices (reed/string/diapason).]
I actually successfully attached a Thomas BAND BOX & PLAYMATE to my Hammond X-66 organ in the same manner as it was hooked to a Thomas organ. These Thomas Rhythm Units are great because the organ can control many aspects of the rhythm unit. Such as the typical OOMP PA PA OOMP PA PA of pedal and lower ( or upper too) where pedal takes the bass drum or tom tom or anything you choose on the band box really, and the keys take another sound, like hihat or conga, etc. THEN there is the touch sensitive aspects of the Thomas unit. It will play the beats dynamically based on how you play. Only the Thomas units were this extensive.
You can also adjust the sensitivity on several parts of the PLAYMATE unit. Many Thomas organs had BAND BOXES, which were passive with buttons for the sounds of you set for the pedal and lower keyboard to trigger sounds, but the PLAYMATE was the 'sequencer' or the automated part...the machine in drum machine is the sequencer. Sometimes you can find a BANDBOX on Ebay, but what you really want is the BAND BOX & THE PLAYMATE AND THE 3 MAIN cardboard covered 'brain boxes' that make these two units work. A complete unit should have 5 pieces with wire harnesses. Actually for as many wires that are on the units, only about 5 wires hook into the organ.
    good luck:)

I loved hammond x77 organs. How do you control the leslie speed on the Hammond x77?

Now I'm scratchin' my head...is this the legendary Don Lewis in SF CA USA? ( whom I was unaware of until I saw this video - The Ballad of Don Lewis Trailer 2013 and if so, is he selling that drum machine in this video? Wow, what a great setup he had back in the day! I look in that plexiglas organ console and wonder if those are independent tone generator cards from a Hammond Concorde ( Elegante look the same, but they didn't come around until 80' at the earliest...which according to the Lionel Richie song would be around then...but an Elegante was $14,000!)
I paid just $140 for a MINT 1981 Hammond Elegante 3 years ago. I kept it and played it lots for over a year and a half. Then I sold it at Christmas to pay some bills. I got $650 and I felt so jipped. I sold it also because I was more satisfied with the tone of my Gulbransen Rialto II ( gotta play the Rialto II loud to get the great Wurlitzer tone from it BTW, don't go by the videos on TH-cam of that organ.) If you want to hear an incredible player on a Hammond Elegante look up ' Larry Ferrari Hammond Elegante '. Ironically I saw these videos 1 month after I sold my Elegante. However a month after that I was offered a Mint Hammond X-66 for an Accordion I paid $30 for + $40 shipping on Ebay. The X-66 came with the Series 12 tone cabinet and the genuine Leslie 122 kit w/ 2 half moons, AND the TREK Transposer. The X-66 is a VERY VERY professional tone. Much better filtering and excellent Rolls Royce quality. The Elegante is BMW quality:)... Ironically the Rialto II is barely Chevy quality on their cabinet, but internally it's excellent!

Is this possibly the same X77 XL and rhythm unit that Don played on his album Aquarius?

Bravo, fabulous, which lesson, which lightness ,aerated, leaving some space to hear everything very clearly....
Concerning X-77, except for the tops of pedals in metal (coming from H100 I think), there were other modifications? Cordially.

Saw this on Ebay today- The Don Lewis Experience ~ Aquarius AMC2846 ~ Hammond X-77GT ~ Signed Autograph
They are asking $75. Not bad considering the rarity, the chops he has, and the autograph. AND that he's playing the greatest musical instrument ever made- the organ. And not just any organ, but the almighty HAMMOND TONE WHEEL ORGAN model X-77. The X-77 is the open portable console model of the Hammond H100, but the X-77 has no built in amplifiers ( tube amps and preamps on the H100 btw) and has a 100% solid state ( all transistor, NO IC'S yuk!) preamp. The X-77 has no vibrato or chorus, unlike the H100 with it's vibrato/celeste scanners. The X-77 also has repeat percussion...and everything else you see listed here-

I started taking organ lessons when I was 11 (1969). Don Lewis came to town to showcase Hammond's snazzy new organ, and my organ teacher took me to hear him. His chops and enthusiasm blew me away!! She introduced me to Don, and he graciously signed this album that I bought while I was there. Really nice guy, and very encouraging. I still have the album. Seeing and hearing Don was really inspiring, and I still play.
