The First Take, which is a once only chance at recording with completely raw vocals, is owned by Sony, so I am sure they had pretty damn equipment. Channel, btw, has around 10M subscribers.

Atarashii Gakko are big time now. A little while ago they made their US television debut on Jimmy Kimmel with a live performance of Tokyo Calling, and more recently they released their official version of the Ghostbusters theme. They were at the Frozen Empire premiere in NY and got to meet Bill Murray and Ray Parker Jr.
They wear high school uniforms as they are the New School Leaders and formed the group while still in high school. They're in their 20s now and occasionally wear different costumes, but the high school uniform is their trademark.
They also post a lot of fun vlogs about Japanese culture. How praying at temples works, rules in high school, etc.

Suzuka really has such a rich, mature, and, sultry voice for a young lady of only 22!

I'm absolutely in love with AG. They have no weaknesses (at least, in my eyes). Personally, I think the song were you can hear the power in Suzuka's voice is Dokubana (an oldie, if you want), that one gives me chills every time she gets to the final chorus.

The socks say 青春日本代表 (Seishun nihon daihyō) which means "Youth representative from Japan". "Seishun" is a term which the Japanese use to describe youth and the intense feelings of someone young - like first love and the excitement of new things. AG interpret "seishun" as not referring to a particular age, but to a feeling of youth and experiencing the world openly and with wonder at every moment that all people can feel whatever their age.

Atarashii Gakko No Leaders (New School Leaders) were formed in 2015 by Asobisytem. At that time the members were all still in school and they saw themselves as "representatives of Japanese youth" so the chose to perform in school uniforms. The uniform based on Western sailor suits was developed in the late 1800s and AG's version of it is very traditional and maybe a little old fashioned. In 2015 Mizyu (the one with two ponytails) had already worked with Asobisystems as she was a back up dancer to Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and they brought in Rin, Kanon and Suzuka to join her. They do all their own choreography and also create dances for other groups. They have some of the most original choreo I've seen and are almost an anti-idol group as their motto is "With individuality and freedom I'm going to stick out" and they sing about some challenging themes and have appeared at Pride events. In 2020/21 they joined 88rising to break into the US market and have had success on social media and just completed a small N. American tour and will do a World tour in 2024. They recently broke out on TikTok in Japan with Otona Blue in 2023 which got them this First take performance
Otana Blue (Adult Blue) is heavily influenced by the Showa era hit Futura Nikki by Akiko Wada - AG have even performed a mash up of the two songs with Wada. There's also a pun in the title as Otona Blue means Adult Blue and Otona Buru (which Suzuka sings) means to "act like an adult" and the song is about teenage emotional confusion. The lyrics explore "teenage awakening" ie the awareness of desire in others and their own desire to grow up and experience adult emotions, or at least their fantasy of those emotions. AG wrote the lyrics themselves when they were younger and I think it's an honest expression of their feelings as they approached adulthood, which can make some people uncomfortable. But AG never shy away from difficult subjects. They actually cut out some of the more explicit bits of the dance for The First Take performance and introduced a mime of a flower opening with a surprised look to emphasize the female.
Another teenage angst song is "Nai Nai Nai", check that out an their recent live concert performance in NYC, Brooklyn. "Atarashii Gakko! Live @ Brooklyn, New York - OTONABLUE, Intergalactic, NAINAINAI"
