ikr it took YEARS for hr to finally fire this one woman who was (1) horrible at her job, (2) would mix prescription meds and alcohol together so it gave her side effects like the tremors at work, (3) after an incident where she had a seizure at work and broke her face while falling down and coworkers called 911, she came to work at 3am on a Saturday night drunk as a skunk without telling anyone and started doing work (incorrectly) and was drunk dialing coworkers she had previously harassed and was told to not contact ever again, (4) would threaten to get her lawyer brother to sue for racial discrimination if she was fired, (5) would fake documentation when in reality nothing was ever done, (6) was consistently months behind on her work, etc. on the day that she was finally fired, even though she was escorted out of the building early afternoon, at 4pm she literally parked her car in the middle of the road that leads from the office to the parking garage in the no parking zone, specifically so that everyone would have to walk straight past her and give her the attention she felt like she deserved before they could leave for the day.
never seen that uncomfortable jan seen circa 2 minutes in. the fact that creed walking up and not saying a word is what made it funny for me and cancelling out that viewer discomfort i felt speaks volumes about his character and the dynamic he sets.
Since Michael Scott constantly antagonizes Toby Flenderson and says, "Toby is an HR which technically means he works for corporate, so he's really not a part of our family." It makes sense that he would become desensitized to all the offenses committed by others and partakes in a few himself. Since Toby took the HR job after he met Cathy just because it was available, compiled by his divorce and having his repressed feelings over Pam crushed twice, it makes sense that he would correlate his personal failures to that of the HR job. Because of Michael's constant abuse towards him, when Toby says "HR's a joke" he's really saying that he's a joke and can't fix his life.
0:06 Toby just gave up so long ago. Even after Michael left, he realized "Everyone is like this. If I said anything, and got them fired, the next would be just the same. Why bother to complain?"

There are companies like Dunder Mifflin. In fact, part of the federal government got into huge trouble for having an “Office”-style bash in Las Vegas. Some companies have set the precedent for “The Office”, and others try to emulate it-and the Vegas incident occurred after “The Office”.
Yep Toby is terrible at his job. The work he does is when he prevents micheal from doing questionable things. The rest of the time he does nothing but sit in his office
To be fair… Jan is harassing the office. It’s one thing if you’re feeding and have no cover but she is in a public space, and took her whole top off. Usually the baby covers the one boob.
Freak, why are you sexualizing a mother feeding her child. Even though there was comedic premise on this scene, when Jan said that’s what *these* are for it is true, women don’t exist for pleasure
The right course of action to take always take precedence over being shunned by one’s family. Toby needed to step in regardless of being shunned by his work family.
