    I know nothing about gliding, but it’s nice that you point out the signs to show where the thermals are. Great filming .

      Weather was als crap in Germany the last 3 - 4 weeks. Glad to had a planned break without competitions and less flying, so that I can prepare for the SGP finals and WGC in Australia. France is also planned mid of September ;)

    Thanks for another great movie! A quick question: you seem to have some overlay info in your xcsoar, visible at 2:57. I assume these show arrival altitudes on nearby landables. How did you set it up? I cannot find such option in xcsoar setup. Thanks!

    • @SteFly
      @SteFly  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it's only the thermal assist? And of course the standard arrival bar for the target (which is standard)

    Hey Stefan love your videos. I'm a new LS3 owner do you have any comments about the glider?

    • @SteFly
      @SteFly  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! The LS3 is an amazing glider especially with bug wipers and winglets. Sealing the gap between fuselage and flaperons is also very important. Other than this, just enjoy flying it :) Flap setting is more or less intuitive and I don't think it's very critical if you don't have the perfect setting.

    Hallo Stefan, was würde bei einer Aussenlandung passieren? Müsste aus eurem Heimat Flugplatz euch abholen. Soweit ich weiß ist es auch möglich das man nach einer Aussenlandung wieder in die Luft geschleppt wird, ist das eine Option? Schönes Video übrigens

    • @SteFly
      @SteFly  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bei einer Aussenlandung muss man mit einem speziellen Anhänger abgeholt werden. Wenns weiter weg ist, würde ich erst einmal versuchen einen Verein in der nähe zu finden, der evtl. hilfsbereit ist. Sonst würde mich schon jemand aus der Familie oder vom Verein holen. F-Schlepp vom Feld ist in Deutschland leider nicht legal möglich, in Australien z.B. geht das aber. Vielen Dank, freut mich!

    Is weight and balance a concern? You can't really measure the CG easily and you are packing a lot of stuff so it seems....

    • @SteFly
      @SteFly  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      All the luggage is in the center of gravity or slightly forward. So that's not critical.

    How are you able to fund this trip?

    • @SteFly
      @SteFly  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's less expensive than you think. On this trip I assume the cheapest aero-tow cost about 25 €, the most expensive in Switzerland something between 100 - 150€. So not much more expensive than any other vacation... assuming you don't need to pay for the glider and equipment.

      Honestly, I can't stand such fucking brainless comments any more. No one has a " WW-II-vibe" over here flying over Poland, esp. not glider pilots. There are many close relationships between German and Polish gliding clubs.

    how much does it cost to have a plane tow you up in the air like this?

    • @SteFly
      @SteFly  ปีที่แล้ว

      It heavily depends on the location and flight time of the tow plane. Usually something between 25 - 50€ if it is not a very high or long tow.

    • @niuchajianfa6222
      @niuchajianfa6222 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SteFly 50? blows my mind...the fuel would cost more than that right?...figured it would more like 2000 considering the labour of pilot and maintainence of the plane and how things are generally more expensive in europe....25 - 50€ is what i think a lady's haircut would cost
