Thorough video and amazing intro. Regarding the pedal, 360 bucks but: 1) no presets 2) no midi 3) mono If they want the big boy prices, they need the big boy features. Can you imagine having to dial in each time on the fly, with all these modes and settings? Such a pity as it seems as though this could have been an exceptionally versatile pedal, with some serious processing power under the hood.
Yeah aside from not being fussed about the mono side of things, I really wished it had *at least* presets but also midi. It’d already be on my board if it did.
I think the thing to keep in mind to an extent is that the genre it's working to equip is known for tweaking boards live and generally tactile approaches to effects in general. I think on the level of "shoegaze in a package" it delivers well, but I agree that it might limit its uses outside that scope though
@@signalpath totally true, I’m being selfish 😎 coming from a singer/guitarist point of view. I think if I was solely a guitarist then it wouldn’t be something I cared about. Ever since I set up my board with MIDI it finally feels like I haven’t wasted thousands of dollars when I’m playing live hahaha
It really is insanely priced for a non midi, preset, stereo device. There are plenty of good options out there for less money. Catalinbread needs to step up their innovation.
Definitely would have looked awesome! I would kinda be scared to have LCD underfoot though if I'm being honest. I'm hard enough on my pedals as it is without introducing those kinds of vulnerabilities
Any thoughts on how this compares to the OBNE Screen Violence? Superficially at least it seems like they do pretty similar things, but the Screen Violence is stereo and a little cheaper.
I'll be honest, I haven't looked much into the screen violence, the size alone was kind of a non-starter for me. It seems like it touches similar places, but I've never had any hands on with it! Definitely curious to try it out now that you say that though
@@signalpathI have the SV and really like it, but the mod works more like the Deco in that it goes from incredibly short all the way to reverb. No shimmer, no parallel options but the distortion is great.
5:06 oof that shimmer has me seeing stars 😊😊😊

Preset settings will be cool… But incredible.
Intro track was killer!
I feel like for $350 they could have put in a real lcd in it. Cool pedal though, I am sure lots of people will love it.

@@signalpath Yea, It would have to actually be engineered to not break.Would drive up the cost/
They should have made it stereo. It's the reason I sold my original one.
I have that same thinline Tele 72 reissue w/ humbuckers - cool! Gonna upgrade the pickups to seymour duncan though , otherwise I like it
This intro track rips my friend!
