    Had the chance to hear them today. I‘m impressed, they punch way above their weight! I would say, this beats everything in it‘s class (small, bedroom style speakers) and as an pro-audio dealer, i heard a lot of things during the past two decades. Kali Team, this is a really awesome product. I‘m gonna recommend them 100% to all beginners with a small budeget, and even professionals for a 2nd set of smaller monitors.

    I'm patiently waiting for something large enough for my whole house that I can wirelessly play music through my steaming services, like Tidal 😊 I've thought about getting the LP-8's with a subwoofer or two, and then hooking them up to a Wiim Pro, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

    These would be great with a carrying case *hint hint* for travel setups. Would definitely buy if y’all released something similar to the carrying case genelec has for their 8010s

    I've had my 1st gen LP-8 monitors for a few years now and while they are just a tad bit overkill for my new apartment dwelling pocket studio?
    I absolutely love them!
    My prior passive monitors were rear ported, and I kept having issues with low frequencies building up behind my desk and thus giving me inaccurate representations when working. Also, the noise floor on the old amplifier I was using to power them left much to be desired to say the very least.
    So when I finally had enough with them and went looking to upgrade?
    These Kali Audio LP-8 monitors came to the rescue!
    This new smaller LP-UNF pair looks very interesting I must say, and for $300?!
    I may just have to pick them up for when working on the go.
    Cheers!

    I hope the USB-C input is added to a new version of the IN5/IN8. It's always felt a bit silly to only have analog inputs on a DSP speakers, adding the extra cost of a DAC/interface.

  • @editorjuno
    @editorjuno 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Now, how about a fully passive LP speaker for those of us with surround systems who don't fancy running both long audio input cables and equally long AC power cords to four (or more!) more speakers playing the relatively undemanding ambience/surround role, e.g. in my own "mostly-Kali" (IN-8v2 L+R pair and IN-5 center channel) system?

    • @kaliaudio
      @kaliaudio  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The IN-UNF has a slightly better stereo image with slightly lower distortion. It's geared a bit more towards experienced mixers whereas the LP-UNF is geared more towards beginners. We're confident that you'll get accurate translation with both.

  • @bennyteferra7834

    Would this be better for someone that doesn't have an acoustically treated room instead of the LP6? I'm a bedroom music producer and I mix/master my stuff so I want to stretch my few dollars as far as I can to get the best setup without having to do a ton to make the acoustics in my room perfect. Since these are "near field" monitors it makes me think that these would be a great option for me especially once I move into an apartment as well. Really considering these!!

    • @kaliaudio
      @kaliaudio  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Short answer is yes. Longer answer is also yes; working in the ultra nearfield means that SPL levels in the room are lower overall, so room acoustics play a diminished role. Also you're saving yourself $100 that you could put towards some basic treatment.

    Will there be an upgraded version of the IN8 Second Wave? Like Kevlar cones instead of paper?

    • @kaliaudio

      Kevlar doesn't hold up to paper in terms of both stiffness to weight and natural damping characteristics. Paper is pretty hard to beat! But for the time being, there are no imminent new versions of any products coming.

    Pro Monitors with NO XLR input........very stange indeed and not industry standard

    • @Fastvoice
      @Fastvoice 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      There's no huge advantage for XLR monitor connections when you only have very short cable lengths. And these speakers are not really meant for big pro studios and whatever "industry standard" that nobody cares about in home studios. BTW: These TRS inputs are for balanced cables so you get all the audio benefits of XLRs without using XLRs.
