There isn’t really much you can do when you’re stuck in the form of a weapon … In Soul Eater, the Weapons could have normal lives outside of battle because they could transform into humans, but even they still trained to get stronger when not taking a break. At least the dude is taking out dangerous monsters and not going on a psycho sentient object murder spree.

(Also the "monsters" in that world exist purely to test humanity so will instinctively seek out the largest gathering of humans they can sense. While lower monsters are effectively mindless, Fran and Teacher eventually encounter more sentient monsters, some which are not inherently evil, but struggle to fight thier monsterous nature)
I kinda feel bad for the goblins so far since... Well... -how would they have known the sword was sentient -from the clips so far I havent seen goblins raiding or anything -sword boy got spat on once and decided to slay *ALL* of them -for baisicaly every goblin he fought it was self defence on the goblins part, imagine a floating sword coming in and randomly killing half your family (im guessing the tribe would baisicaly be a loose family unit with some young males or females switching between tribes for marriage). The goblins did nothing wrong. Their worst crime was spitting on a sword they didnt know was sentient! Justice for goblins! Edit: I have seen evidence to the contrary. I will not be accepting it as it was clearly anti-goblin propaganda out of context, edited and cgi.
In the books they're supposedly descendants of the demon king & in their status it said they're evil & need to be destroyed. He does question who writes that stuff but decided to trust it.
So they decided to turn the Master Sword/Excalibur into an isekai protagonist?! Actually, this can explain why the MC that pulls the legendary blade gets a huge boost in power

The soil in that area leaches magic. Its implied thats because some power creature died there and to try and revive itself it leaches the land and even weak monsters which is why he was only encountering those Domain Bosses in those areas as they can survive the effect.

He does mention that being a sword has altered hus mind slightly. If he senses tasty magicite in a monster. The urge to stab it intenifies.
